Bills - Show Bill payment reference
When suppliers are paid, the payment is given a reference, and this is then used to file paperwork. We can no longer see the payment reference when reviewing paid supplier invoices. Please bring this back.

AU Payroll - Add Seasonal Worker option for income type/tax scale
Xero needs to have an option in either Income Type or Tax Scale for employees on the Seasonal Worker Program, ie PALM Workers, so that the system automatically taxes them at the flat rate of 15%.
At the moment I have approx 33 such employees and I must adjust their tax in every single payrun.
The ATO have a specific code (W > P) that should be used for these workers under STP Phase 2 reporting. I refer you to the table at the following website page: https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/Single-Touch-Payroll/In-detail/Single-Touch-Payroll-Phase-2-employer-reporting-guidelines/?page=5#Tax_treatment

Dashboard - Business Overview Graphs
It would be nice to have a business overview dashboard similar to QuickBooks. The existing Xero dashboard is designed for bookkeepers and doesn’t have any valuable insights for business owners. Perhaps it would be better to have two different tabs on the dashboard, one for bookkeepers, and another one for business owners.
P.S.

UK Payroll - Automatically detect payroll payments during reconciliation
Payroll/Wages Payable Reconciliation
It is quiet difficult in Xero to find out wages payable error done because there is no system of matching wages payment with the payroll journal at the transaction allocation stage.
e.g. as we get the suggestions to allocate a payment received against an invoice, it should be similar with the wages.
If there is any over/under payment it will be detected at the transaction allocation stage as there won't be any matching payroll transaction existing. This feature is there in MYOB. This is the only reason where I find MYOB better than Xero.
Sometimes client does a couple of wage payment errors during the year. Its so hard to detect until you pull out a wages payable spreadsheet and then match each week. Extremely time consuming!Payroll/Wages Payable Reconciliation

Sales Overview - Bulk "Void" button for invoices
Can you introduce a "void " button please on the invoice listing page. We have dozens of invoices that have not been paid as customer cancelled order but we cannot void them in bulk. We would like to use the checkbox next to the listing of invoices and select "void" to do them all at the same time rather than one by one which we do not have time to do.

VAT late claims report
Hi,
Something that would be very helpful as an accountant, is the ability to run a report for a given date which shows all the transactions where the VAT was claimed/paid on a later return. I know that the VAT reconciliation report doesn't work with MTD.
Happy to discuss to help with this.71 votesThanks for sharing and supporting here, everyone.
For those that aren't already across, though manual at present you could run the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against your filed VAT returns.
We appreciate the process could be more automated. Though this isn't something we have immediate change planned around atm, we'll update you here if there's any news.

Branding - Enable SKIPIF function in advanced DOCX templates
Please enable the Microsoft Word function SKIPIF for use in docx invoice templates. Currently, we can use the "IF" function in customized invoices to skip item records according to its ItemCode, but as noted by another user in the Microsoft Office discussion, a blank row will still appear for records that meet the filter test. Read a detailed discussion of the issue here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/microsoft-word-mergefield-code-to-skip-certain/3414ecba-e0c9-46aa-90bb-b5a205d25f5a?page=1

Repeat template - Option to update template from Draft invoice
The repeating invoices that go to draft should have an option of saving for the next repeating invoice for that client. If you dont edit the invoice before it goes to draft eg: to increase an annual charge, then it does not save for the next time that repeating invoice comes up. Either that or give an option for a repeating invoice that has been delited to repeat again.

Foreign Currency - Ability to turn off
One day I added a foreign currency because I needed the rate for a single transaction, but now all of the detail reports show three foreign exchange columns checked all the time, when I don't need them and don't want them. There is no way to turn off foreign exchange organization wide, nor to get rid of the columns. I am aware that I can make custom reports for account transactions, but the fact is that I use right click to open the account detail in a new tab from an existing report such as a balance sheet or income statement. This means that all day long I have to spend time clicking 6 columns off every single time I open a report (there are three more checked by default that are totally useless). That adds up to a fair bit of time, as I work in Xero most of the day, every day.

Quotes - Access to contacts and adding details
There is a difference between the functionality of new quote page and the old one.
On the old quote page, when a new contact was entered and the quote was saved, you could then click directly on the contact field which was linked to the contact page. This allowed you to quickly add additional info (email address, phone number, etc). This made emailing the quote quick and easy.
On the new form, after you save the quote the contact name remains in edit mode.... so you cannot click on it to get to the contact page. There is no link to the contact info from within the form - anywhere on the page.
For a business that emails quotes to new contact regularly - this is a real snag.
Can the Product team simply match the functionality of the contact name process to what the old for did? Just and the contact hyperlink as it used to be.
There are some nice things about the new quote form, but this is problematic... and it seems like it could be quickly and easily remedied.
Please help us here... Thanks.

Invoicing - Add the Xero organisation name to the subject of emails sent from 'Ask a Question'
It would be super useful to add the xero organisation name to the subject line of emails sent from recipients of online invoices so firms with multiple xero organisations can see straight away, which xero organisation the contact belongs too, when they submit an email query via their online invoice link.

Xero Me | Expense - VAT from image analysis
It would be great if the receipt analysis tool on expenses was able to identify weather a receipt is a VAT receipt or not based on the inclusion of a VAT number or a VAT amount itemised.

Reporting - Saved customised report layout across common formats
Been trailing the new reports format and when setting up a custom group account layout for a Profit and Loss report we can't use this layout across Common Formats of Profit and Loss. This feature was available in the old reports that once a custom layout was created it worked on all formats. Been advised that would need to create a separate custom report for every Common Format

AU Payroll | Employees - Consistency between export and import details
Please re-work the Employee Contact Details report to include ALL of the information available in the employee bulk upload template and in the same format. Also add email address to the bulk upload format as it is already in the Employee Contact Details report.
When a client undergoes a restructure, the employees must be copied into the new file. It is EXTREMELY time consuming to type it all.
You have the start of a great export/import ability, it just needs a little bit of attention and it would be perfect.

Credit Notes - Show the invoices/bills the credit is allocated to
Automate the showing of which invoice or bill a credit note has been applied to.
I work across about 20 businesses who use XERO. All waste time when the customer or supplier allocates credit to a different source document to my client. A way to avoid this is to automate the display of which Invoice or Bill a CN has been applied to, in the email templates and attached PDF's.
XERO potentially currently works on the idea that a CN is applied to the Bill or Invoice the credit was derived from - but in practice this doesn't always work, as the bill or invoice may have already been paid.

Show purchases orders on the dashboard, as per this thread! Would be really useful to see what is approved but not billed at a glance. https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N00004oQgTxSAK/is-it-possible-to-show-your-purchase-orders-on-the-dashboard?t=1652190558049&searchQuery

Billable Expenses - Retain source currency when invoicing expenses
When we rebill a transaction to a client that was already paid, if the amount is paid in Euros, for example €5,000, when I issue the next invoice to this customer, the expense automatically shows up to be included in this invoice. The issue is, when I choose this transaction, even though my invoice is also being billed in Euros, the amount is automatically converted to GBP (my company a/c's currency) and then is converted back to Euros so the amount to be rebilled shows us as a different figure either positively or negatively in my favour depending upon the exchange rate at that time. We do not wish these transactions to be converted from EUROS to GBP and then back to EUROS, simply put, the amount I paid in Euros is the amount I wish to bill the client. My question is, how do I stop this "behind the scenes" conversion which I believe is due to the fact that my company a/c's default currency is GBP? All my clients operate and function in Euros and all my invoices issued to them is always in Euros so this is an issue that happens routinely and is very time consuming to have to manually identify the original Euro amount and correct for each individual rebill item?
