User role permission: Invoice Only Purchases - Assign user to see bills paid
Currently, it’s not possible to assign a invoice only-Purchases (orders and bills) user permission and not be able to see bills paid or to have the Invoice Only create drafts user role and see purchase orders approved by other users. Can you include this option in Xero?

Tracked inventory - Attach files to inventory adjustments
Ability to attach supporting file to tracked inventory adjustment entry
5 votesThanks for the response, Joanne. While it's not something we have direct plans for atm, we'll get a better of the interest around this here, and I'll share if there's any changes planned.

History & Notes | Basic formatting options for notes
The ability to type a note in RED so that it stands out.
And also the ability to add a note to an invoice in red, such as PLEASE USE INVOICE NUMBER AS REFERENCE:1 vote -
Profit and Loss - Filter report, option to change filter criteria after column choice selected.
You have marked the idea at "Profit & Loss - Filter Tracking Report by second tracking category" (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/45050152-profit-loss-filter-tracking-report-by-second-t) as delivered and closed the comments, but unfortunately it's a terrible implementation, and you could really benefit by hearing comments from your customers on it.
It allows the user to filter the data, and then to choose the columns it will appear in by selecting tracking category items for columns. However if I want to change the filter criteria I have to undo the column choices, then edit the filter criteria, and then recreate the columns.
It still does not offer the easy to use functionality you are intending to delete in a 6 weeks time. And also, it's really annoying that you have closed comments on the original discussion, as your users would be able to give clear feedback there.

Invoices - Default due date set regardless of an integration upload
Default invoice due date / contact due date can be set when integrated with other products that fed the invoices in. Currently it is overriden with due date from integrated system
Setting due date so we can clearly see what is overdue is an excellent feature and would help significantly with accounts

Xero Expenses - Option to Approve and View Next
Currently when you hit approve on an expense it takes you back to the To Review list. This trip back to where I started adds unnecessary clicks and load times. It would be faster if there was an Approve and View Next option, the same way there is when working through draft bills.

Dashboard - Add a quarter to date (QTD) column to the Accounts Watchlist
Please can a QTD column be added on the Accounts Watchlist rather than This Month? A quarterly client is requesting this as they view the Dashboard regularly and this would be extremely useful to them.

Customer Statement | History & Notes - Include Template Name
We use multiple Statement templates, each of them containing different stages of Credit Control progress. When sending these the Contact Notes are only updated with 'Statement', and not the Statement template name that would give historical context to a Contact on how we have progressed debt.
Can you update the Notes to include the Statement Template name, and include an option to make further notes against that activity?3 votes -
Reports - Group account transactions by month
I would be good to be able to carry out data analysis of each nominal code and therefore group the account transactions by month with totals rather than by week which will ultimately tie back to the P&L. This would make it useful when carrying out data analysis from the P&L.

New invoicing - Option to edit Account name
I noticed the new invoicing option seems to be not user-friendly as you can't edit the account name there is no option, and the classic is much better. I wonder why that is?
3 votesHi team, returning to the idea here and rounding back on my last update. Currently it is not possible to edit the Account name or Code of an account from within new invoicing. You'll need to do this by going to the Chart of Accounts screen and updating this, there.
This is not a feature within classic or new invoicing. However, we'll leave the idea open here so we can get continued interest and consider as a possible future enhancement within new invoicing.

Projects - Add date of the expense onto the tasks & expenses screen
In the Projects | Tasks & expneses, can we please add in the date??
I understand that the date can be accessed by opening the bill or viewing the bill, but this is very tedious AND if you open the bill, you can't easily find your way back to the particular bill you were looking at (the screen jumps back to the top).
It is extremely difficult to navigate these expenses when there are hundreds of them attached to the project, so having the bill date here would be SO much more convenient.3 votes -
Project Reporting - Detailed Invoice Lines
To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.
You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

Fixed Assets - Automatically update depreciation start date when changing year end dates
It would be great if Xero dealt with changing balance dates more efficiently. If the balance date changes it should be able to automatically calculate the opening book value, then calculate the depreciation for the new financial year end as per usual. Currently its very manual and time consuming as it reverses all journals posted since you started using Xeros fixed asset feature. Very odd and very frustrating!
15 votesHi all, we wanted to round back here to share for those in the UK that we've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 month and 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date.
To recap for anyone new coming across the idea - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings so you can add start and end dates to different periods. This change impacts multiple areas of Xero.
- Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.
- The same applies in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.
- In Xero Tax, you’ll be able to enter transitional profit, and track this across five years.
We'll continue to leave this idea as working on it for now with this only available in the UK version of Xero at present. We'll keep you all informed of any change for this going to other regions.

Reporting - Finalise year and produce Late Changes report
Finalise Year End
Can we have an option (just like finalising the GST returns) where we can finalise the year, and then later on print a report with any changes made since? The lock dates are not the solution, because they can be unlocked and relocked and there is no detail of changes made.
If we could "finalise" a year when the client has signed off accounts or tax returns, then if anyone inadvertently edits or changes coding we can see that.4 votes -
UK Payroll - Send payslips to multiple email addresses
Can you please create the functionality to send the payslips to both the employees and the employers.
Currently payslips can only be sent to one email address when being sent by Xero. A second email address can't be added to an employee's record for payslips to be sent to.
It would be beneficial to be able to send them via Xero to both the employee and employer.

NZ Payroll - Opening leave balance negative
When transferring from another payroll system, Xero has not accounted for the user case of an employee starting with a negative entitlement.
A lot of businesses allow employees to use annual leave as it's accrued and do not always enforce the 12 month stand-down as per legislation. As a user who has just entered 12 months of payroll information for a transferred employee, I should not then have to calculate what the balance now is.
As per other requests, there should be three fields which you should be able to enter when setting up an employee which is their current balances of accrued, entitled and total balance. A negative should never be required.
The way it is set out is not intuitive at all or self-explanatory.

Batch Payment | Remittance Advice - Create for batches that include an overpayment hin there
Please allow remittance advices to be sent to clients from a batch payment even if it contains an overpayment. There is something fundamentally wrong for there not to be an option for this. A batch payment of 100 invoices with an overpayment of 1 is not cause for there not being an option to send a remittance advice to my clients. I've had to search the page and manually extract it onto an excel file and then send to suppliers. Very time consuming especially if you make large batch payments for over 50 different suppliers.

Bank Feed - Don't remove duplicate statement lines
Xero should auto import all the transactions from the bank feeds even if it appears to be double entries of the same transaction. For example Toll fees with the same amount on the same day are only imported once into xero although all the transactions are on the bank's online profile.
