  1. STP2 - Splitting allowances for all purpose from the hourly rate

We have employees with all purpose allowances - ie it forms part of the base hourly rate and extrapolates in to overtime rates and annual leave loading. I now have to take it out of the rate and pay as separate line items including overtime and annual leave multipliers.

Is Xero in their pay templates going to make changes to say have a tick box to indicate an add on allowance to the rate so regardless of the pay lines (that are set up as such) they multiply they…

Hey community 👋 thanks for the interest in this idea!

Just to clarify, when creating a new allowance pay item, you'll have the options to 'Contribute towards annual leave rate' and 'contributes towards overtime rate'.

This setting will include allowance type pay items in the calculation of annual leave and overtime rates.

I can see the main request here was a 'box to indicate an add on allowance'.

Can you confirm if this tick box in payroll settings solves that request?

  2. A report to show transactions that have been posted including the account code and the projects that the transactions have been assigned to with data parameters.

We reconcile the sales, direct costs and gross profit amounts from the project summary report to the same amounts in the profit and loss report but currently there is no way to identify differences when they arise. The above report will really be helpful!

  5. When I am manually entering a contact bank account number, I find it disconcerting to be warned to enter the bank account number after I leave the BSB code field. But I HAVE to leave the BSB code field in order to move to the Bank account number field! Leaving the BSB field is not a mistake!
I think the warning would be better triggered if you attempt to click on 'Save & close' without completing both fields.

  6. IDEA - CIS suffered report to calculate the CIS suffered correctly.

ISSUE - If you apply a credit note to an invoice that has both CIS labour and CIS materials, Xero does not calculate the CIS suffered correctly. Even though the credit note is coded to the correct nominal code, Xero doesn't recognise this. This causes the CIS suffered report to reduce the deduction amount which is incorrect. This means the figure you submit to HMRC is lower than it should be. Meaning less of a refund of CIS suffered than it actually should be.

  8. When reconciling a transaction the default tax rate should be per the Supplier settings if set up in the Supplier. It is the Supplier who is GST registered or not. Currently a non GST registered Supplier may come up with NO GST, however if you change the account code you are posting the transaction to it will change the tax to be inclusive of GST if that expense would normally include GST. Supplier status should always override account code status, otherwise if not picked up and corrected leads to inaccurate GST returns.

Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered! We rolled out support for maintaining the suppliers default tax rate when the account code is changed 🎉

If the account code changes, the default tax rate will not change unless the tax rate is not compatible with the new account code selected.

For more information check out our How your default tax rate and account settings work

Thanks again for your feedback, we appreciate your contributions.

  9. Re: New Invoicing - Reduce Number of steps and clicks (The original thread has had comments turned off, so I can't comment that it has made more steps, not less...)

What has happened here...it is now taking eight tab clicks to get from Reference Number to the first box to input the item code...last week it was six...so the number of click has increased, not decreased.

Also, when inputting an item code, I have multiple codes that have the same base code with different suffixes...is there are way to just get it to the shaded part that you select the…

  13. We operate two Companies on Xero - the manufacturing company sells to the retail company - so we use the Xero to Xero function for this.
I understand from the support articles that item codes are not transferred from Xero to Xero transactions. Is there any way to enable this, if we were to use the same item codes in each company? When the sales invoices are shared and received as draft purchase invoices the Item codes and COGS/expenses codes have to be re-entered - we would process about 500 per annum with up to 50 lines per invoice -…

  14. Being new to the business, new to finance and bookkeeping and even newer to Xero we are starting from scratch with our "Chart of Accounts". As we grow and want to create sub accounts for clearer reporting - having to manually 'add account' each time, and reselecting all the appropriate account settings is very time consuming, especially for a novice like me. Being able to right click and choose to duplicate an existing account and then be prompted to rename/renumber it would be so much quicker.

My work around is currently to open up the existing account - take a…

  16. Broken down to location/ postal code with the total cost for a contact/supplier in any period is needed.
I am aware 'the expenses by contact' gives you the total spend in a year but this doesn't filter down to location/ addresses or post code. At year end a key part of our process is reporting local suppliers for our social impact and purpose, we have to complete a time consuming exercise entering addresses/location manually line by line for key suppliers in excel. This information is reported to our Board of Directors, to our Group Board and as part of our…

  18. Activity Statement - ability to filter transactions by Tracking Category to check for accurate GST codes. The ability to filter and check GST entered on transactions with Tracking Categories is especially important for NFPs and Charities.

For some organisations, there are specific GST treatments for specific transactions and often these are tracked by the use of Tracking Categories.

Currently in the Activity Statement we can only do a check based on a dump of transactions listed under the tax rate or BAS field tabs, which is cumbersome and clumsy. The current methods available in Xero for auditing and checking GST…

  19. Tracking codes cannot be defined for "Minor adjustments", normally used when an invoice payment is incorrect by a small amount. These minor adjustments should be recorded against a P&L "rounding" account, but then when running a P&L across different Tracking Codes there are then always "unassigned" entries.
To that end an ability to define a tracking code at point of creating the minor adjustment, or to edit one in from the "rounding" account.

  20. Knowing that FX disclosures were expanded to several reports. However, it is awkward when the Adviser report comprises of Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Statement of Changes in Equity, Statements of Cash Flows and Notes to the Financial Statements, only the first two reports are able to be presented in other currency (Eg. SOFP & SOCI presented in USD but SOCE, SOCF and Notes in MYR). Can Xero enable the function of FX in every page of the adviser's report? Thank you.
