Fixed Assets - Export with dates in dd/mm/yyyy format
Currently if you export your fixed asset register, the dates are exported in mm/dd/yyyy format. If you use the dd/mm/yyyy format, then the figures are wrong in excel. e.g. 06 April is read as 04 June (and the figure eg 44088 is the wrong one). Other dates come as text e.g. 2/28/2022 and are not read at all. It should be possible to export them as number eg. 44080, which can be formatted as required.

Quotes - Applying Mark up
Applying Mark up in Quote - Ability to hit 'apply mark up' and select specific costs / folders that the mark up is applied for. Ie labour costs are not based off markup but the products are. If you hit 'apply mark up' the markup gets applied to every single cost.
14 votesRounding back on the idea here it sounds like using non tracked inventory could be a solution.
In Products and services you can add items and enter a Purchase price and a Sales price for the same item.
This means you can add the marked up price for Sales and when you select the item in Quotes or Invoices this price will be reflected for the line item.
Alternatively, you could add a discount to lines of your invoice if there is a general amount or % by which you would mark up items.
Keen to hear your feedback for these options.

Contacts - Combine Add/Remove group options
When viewing a contact, the options to "add group" and "remove group" are two separate functions, making moving a contact from one group to another very clunky. This request is to combine the add/remove feature, so you can simply select/unselect which groups a contact is in. This would mean that to move a contact from one group to another, you would simply deselect the old group checkbox and check the new group checkbox.

AU Payroll - Auto populate contractor details from Contact record
Now that you have a function to create a Non-employee SubContrator who is paid Superannuation only here are some suggestions as currently it is a very labout intensive and manual process especally since STP2
- ability to populate the contractors details eg address, email, phone number from their Contact as they have been paid for an invoice via Bills
- pay items that alows you to enter the invoice value so the super is calculated - at present, new STP does not allow you to trick the system anymore so 10.5% SG has to be manually calculated
- ALLOW SPACES IN ABN field - so annoying when you cut and paste from ABR Lookup website that do have spaces - it chops off the last 3 digits
- ABN field with a link to ABR look up website
- link to the invoie super is being paid on so there is not chance of a keyoing error when mannually calucating the super

3 votesThanks for sharing with us in product ideas, Alison. It really helps for each idea to be separate so we can gauge interest in the specific feature community would like to see, and users know exactly what they're voting for.
Reading through your feedback, you should find you can now copy and paste an ABN that contains spaces. It also appears there is an existing idea for tracking contractors Super contributions that I added your vote for and you'll be kept updated if there's any progress for.
I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect your first point, however you're welcome to start others for the remaining ideas that you'd like to see us develop.

New Bills to Pay - Add “Spent At” column for expenses
The new Bills To Pay screens seem to be causing a lot of discussion. For those users who extensively leverage the Expenses module, there are a number of improvements that could be made:
• Please Add “Spent At” in the columns so that Expenses make sense viewed in this context, otherwise every line says “Expense Claims” and the entire column is superfluous when dealing with Expenses (reduces redundant data display)
• Please add a link from the Bill listing directly to the Expense Detail if it was generated by Expenses (reduces click-through and page calls, improves efficiency)
• Please add an Action to Bill Detail to Delete the Bill and it’s related Expense in one click rather than the current seven (dramatically improves the efficiency of this task)
• Please improve the clarity of the figure that shows next to the item count. Please either label appropriately or move this to the top of the relevant column (general display fault)

Contact - Select 'TPAR Reportable' when adding contact
Hi Xero,
could you please add a tick box button TPAR reportable in Supplier Contact - when adding new Supplier to have there option to tick "TPAR reportable"?
It would really help with ATO reporting when working with high volume of Suppliers/Contractors.
Atm Xero does not have a tab to differentiate between Supplier providing material only and Supplier/Contractor providing service, labour on which we need to file TPAR every year and within a year we are taking on numerous new contractors.11 votes -

Global Payroll: YTD Earnings and deductions on Payslips
An Employee's payslip gives the current pay period earnings, deductions and net take home pay. It's missing YTD earnings and deductions information on a payslip. Please consider including the same in your future updates. Thanks, We are a Canadian based business.

Customer Statements - Use Contact default to apply template
We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact). It takes the ‘default template’ = the first one set up in invoice settings which is the GBP template. I am curious why it does not take the template chosen on the invoice. If I forget to check the branding when I send out statements it’s likely that the customer gets the wrong bank information. If the customer pays according to the statement the money is sent to the wrong account, and consequently we incur additional bank charges as the bank converts the money into the currency of the bank account. It would be very usefull if a customer's default invoice template would be used when sending out customer statements

AU Payroll - Warning for missing employee bank details
A warning or prompt should come up when an employee has no bank details recorded - similar to when an employee's bank account is updated when a payroll is posted.
This can be acknowledged by the user and allow them to move on.
When the ABA is exported - this prompt should come up, every time an ABA without bank details is exported - as the payment could fail and the employee will not be paid.

Reconcilliation: Automatically import and reconcile merchant / PDQ transactions
At the moment to reconcile a PDQ payment we have to manual reconcile to the invoice - this means we have to enter the order number and tick them off, we are running at over 300 orders a day so this can take up to 2 hours a day. It would be good to get the list from Elavon's portal and upload to Xero, so to match them automatically - then leaving us needing only to spot any difference.

Reports | Trial Balance - Combined 'Account Code' and 'Description' columns in .CSV
Can you get the new TB to download with the account code and description in the same column as was possible in the old TB. (see attached)
It's a great column to upload into tax software as a description, instead of having to mess about with 2 separate code and description columns.1 vote -

Sales invoices - Allocate overpayments and credits once published
Kelly Munro shut down discussion on an idea I suggested, because she was under the mistaken impression that she had resolved the issue, which she had not. I suggested that it would be useful to be able to allocate payment of purchase invoice against overpayments and credits. While what Kelly suggested was correct - that this is possible to do when an invoice is first raised, it is only possible at this stage. It is not possible later. I have a client whose main supplier operates a very complicated system of prepayment for orders. This results in a large number of overpayments. There are also some invoices which are not paid in advance (for other services and surcharges), but it is not obvious which these are until all the rest have been matched against the bank statement. So matching them to existing credits isn't an option. Kelly shut down my suggestion. Not a good example of listening to the customer, Xero. And I still have to open every single overpayment and credit note (from a few hundred pounds to pennies) and allocate them against the invoice, instead of opening the invoice and selecting the credits to be allocated from the drop down list. That can be a good hour of my time, and it's tedious. Thanks, Xero.

3 votesHi Heather, while maybe slightly brash do appreciate the feedback.
With your added detail we're happy to have the idea in the forums here that we can get a feel for the appetite on - You're always welcome to reply to an update I've shared on an idea too and we can review this.
Please understand it's not my intention to inhibit customer feedback, but will do our best to highlight and share places where features and capability in the product do exist but may just be unknown by users.
