  1. Have the ability to set default settings for every new Contact you add to Xero.

    Our default tax will always be Tax Exclusive for example. We should be able to set this as the default to all new contacts added, as well as:

    Default account
    Currency
    Invoice Theme
    Invoices Due Date

  3. Please look at amending the template for customer statements. Its terribly presented at the moment with overpayments being recognised under the invoiced amount section as a negative and balances not cumulating at the end

    Hi Neilin, I know you've mentioned customising the template, however from the sounds you'd like to change the behaviour of how items within a customer statement is represented?


    If so it'd be good to understand more of the reason of why you're wanting to show overpayments as a positive? 

    If a customer has paid more than expected amount this amount is then a credit on their record and in turn draws down the total amount owed. 

    Alternatively you may want to be looking at recording as a prepayment? 

  4. I have been in dispute with HMRC over an amended FPS submission. Having the employee and employer NI contributions broken down would have been a great help to me.

  5. If Xero Expenses' OCR reader doesn't find a date in a photo/receipt, it sets it as 19 Feb 2022 (from reviewing a number of Expenses in my organisation submitted in December 2022 that don't have visible dates).

    It would be more helpful to set the date as the day the Expense was initially created.
    The submitter is likely to have incurred the Expense on the day they take a photo of the receipt.

    As it currently is, if a period isn't locked and the Approver isn't checking dates, they may inadvertently post entries to the wrong period, even a historical/filed…

  6. "Compare Tracking Category" in the Old Format P&L Report includes columns for all Tracking Category Values USED in the date range; irrespective of whether the value is ACTIVE or ARCHIVED.

    "Compare Tracking Category" in the New Format P&L Report is different: it includes columns for ACTIVE Tracking Category Values. This represents an incomplete view because ARCHIVED Tracking Category Values USED in the date range are not included.

    Please can you enable reporting of USED Tracking Category Values in the New Format P&L Report before you remove Old Format Reports in July 2023.

  8. To add a tick box when converting from quote to invoice to keep quote date and not for it to default to today's date. Similar to the option to mark as invoiced or not. It would be great if the date does not default today's date if it is revised but stay on the original quote date. Once the quote is accepted and it is converted to an invoice, we please need the ability for the quote to stay on the original quote date and not to default to today's date.

  9. I have successfully managed to create a custom report.

    I now want to add on rows which give me the opening and closing balance each month to get a 12 month cashflow. Is there a way I can do this from the statement of cash flows (using the cash and cash equivalents at beginning and end of period)

    When I try to add rows to my custom report it doesn't seem to offer to add, but only to group item is this something that could be considered.

  11. When entering a bill or invoice, you enter the total at the top then add statement lines, would be great if it showed remaining amount to be charged/ reconciled to reach the desired total. This would cut down admin time when reconciling bills after entering gst amount could show the total remaining as the non gst amount so you do not need to calculate the remaining amount.

  12. Can you colour code each row in the "Sales Overview > Invoices" based on "status" so that paid invoice listings are "green", waiting payment are "orange" and overdue are perhaps "red"? At the moment the "Sent" column is the only colour coded column which shows "green" whether the invoice is just "sent" or "viewed" which doesn't make it easy to know which invoice to chase for payment.

  13. I would like to suggest creating quotes in multiple currencies should be the same as setting the exchange rate. As currently when we choose another currency when creating a quote, while the exchange rate still appears as the custom rate, the exchange rate that appears on the PDF is the default rate. We should all be on the same page.

  14. UK. We employ temporary staff who do not accrue leave while taking paid leave they have previously accrued. The only way to reflect this in Xero is to manually adjust the leave balance. I would like to be able to add a pay item of paid leave that does not accrue further leave.

  16. The existing 'Statement of Cash Flows' could be enhanced to be the bridge between the P&L and the balance sheet.
    1. Term debt and cash are netted to give the movement in cash equivalents. If the statement differentiated between 'term' funding (in our case, reduction of term debt) and the 'cash at bank' balance it would better describe cash flows.

    1. Make repayment of loans a 'financing' activity. Currently it is wrapped in 'cash equivalent'.

    2. The flows in Operating Activities would be more meaningful if it highlighted where to see changes. For example, working capital changes in the period under review…

  17. It would be useful to see a breakdown of the time assigned to each task within a project, rather than just a list of the time entries in date order. Seeing the overall time on the task page is useful, but being able to delve into that would be more useful.

    Did you know that the transaction reports on the VAT return can be exported to Excel format where these can then be sorted/searched and filtered to help review the transactions?

    We don’t have any near term plans to expand functionality to develop the ability to sort, filter and search within the tax rate box of the VAT return. If anything changes in the future, we’ll update you on this idea! 📢

  19. When using the search fund for INVOICES current options are: Enter Number, Reference, Contact or Amount. It would be nice to also be able to search by the account number issued to your clients.

  20. Projects>Time entries
    Currently only one view, in order of entry.
    We enter start and end times for tasks.
    Would prefer to have the ability to sort the time entries page by time started. That way a user can more readily identify parts of their day not yet entered.
