  1. Most people using accounting software are keyboard proficient. Having to use a mouse to see and click on drop down lists is inefficient. This is particularly bad when applying payments to the new invoicing system. I can see you've updated this so that you can tab across when you're creating a new invoice - please extend this functionality to the payment field. (All we really want is for you to #BringBackClassicInvoicing)

    Hi Amanda, are there any particular fields you're having issues tabbing through in the payments window? We recently released a change so you can now type in dates rather than having to choose from the calendar.

  2. I would like easier access for entering multiple spend money transactions with a preview screen

    I suggest either;

    1) a separate email to send spend money receipts to like bills have; or

    2) when entering spend money transaction, after clicking save and add another, allow the preview pane to be available after attaching a file so you can still see the details of the receipt when entering (just like the preview is there when you enter a spend money from the files section) otherwise you have to go out of spend money and back to files just so you have…

  3. The new modernised GST returns in Xero no longer export the report name in the exported file name. The document only has the client name and date, not the report type anymore. Should say "XXXX Ltd 30 11 2024 GST Return", whereas it currently only says XXXX Ltd 30 11 2024". Inefficient to have to manually add the words "GST Return" for each report produced in Blue Xero when sending multiple documents to clients. Is there a way to get it back?   4. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

  5. Bills are listed as 'duplicate' even tho they are monthly recurring bills so even tho the amounts are the same, the dates are different. Is there any way of these monthly bills not being listed as 'duplicate'. wastes a lot of time checking.

  6. NZ GST returns - add multiple sorting
    Currently, I can only sort by one column. When I click on Account, the transactions are sorted by account name. But when I then click on Contact, the transactions are sorted by contact name, and the account names become unordered. It would be great if I could sort by multiple columns. For example, first by account, then by contact.

    I’m reaching out from a regional local government in Western Australia. We want to use Xero and appreciate its simplicity and usability. However, we’ve found that Xero’s current design is limiting for local government requirements — particularly in terms of transaction volume, internal controls, audit reporting, governance, and integrated project accounting.

    I believe there’s a compelling opportunity for Xero to consider developing a dedicated “Local Government” edition or expansion, especially tailored for smaller regional councils.   8. When we send a W9 request to a vendor via Xero the only way we have to know if they have completed the W9 request is by logging back into Xero and manually navigating to that vendor to check in on it.

    It would be great if admins/bookkeepers could receive a notification when the vendor completes the W9 request.

    Having that email notification of a vendor completing a w9 request would also enable us to trigger other automations.

    I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.

    As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

    This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll get a sens of the interest for viewing the Balance Sheet in the Xero Accounting app from the community here and I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

  10. id love to be able to edit the reference field from the invoice tab. Also the ability to build edit the reference field from the same tab would be helpful. We use that field to know the category the sale is in. So some of our work is shipped, or its to a specific event.

    We're always grateful for your feedback and love hearing what features you'd like to see in Xero. We understand that being able to update the reference field directly from the invoice list page would save you time. While this isn't on our immediate roadmap, we're monitoring the demand for this feature. We'll be sure to post an update here if anything changes ⭐

  11. When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.
    At the email stage, we can preview the email and invoice prior to sending, but not the attachment.

  12. With the old Invoice system, the message will correctly prompt the email address for that contact. If I choose instead, to send the message to another contact email first, I simply clear the prompted address and begin to type the intended address and the full address is usually prompted after typing the 1st 3 letters. Is there a way we can make the NEW INVOICES do this? Surely this can be done in the new Invoice Format..???

  13. As default, can you please turn off the check box "Show journal on cash basis reports"
    For users that rely on the 'Cash Summary' report, non-cash journals create significant difficulty getting a true read on the cash position of the business, a key requirement for this report. Thanks

  14. Last Paid Date flag for Vendor or Check bank account details alert.
    Increasing there is a need to check bank details for Suppliers - to make sure haven't changed. If a Supplier hasn't been used for many months, Xero doesn't prompt the bank details to be checked. We have had cases where the supplier changed owners and bank accounts but not informed us. The bank details weren't checked. it would be useful if we could have an alert or flag that prompts a check after 3 or 6 months.

    We get how easy it is to miss checking bank details, especially for suppliers you haven’t paid in a while. A quick alert or reminder after 3–6 months of no activity could be a great way to help catch changes (like new ownership or account updates) before a payment goes through.

    Your idea’s now live for others to see, vote on, and add their thoughts. If this would make things easier for your team, feel free to share it around.

  15. The expense reimbursement function should include an option to change the submitter after the request has been sent for approval, rather than declining the request and re-enter just to be able to update the submitter name in case of 'submitting on behalf'

    Additionally, it should allow exporting the entered expenses into an Excel file to verify whether everything has been entered correctly. Currently, exporting is only possible once the request has been approved. This feature is especially important when there are numerous expense lines.

  16. Please allow adding on an extra employee for payroll in Australia, as is possible in the UK.
    The Ignite plan is enough for most small businesses and sole traders, but the jump in price just to add an extra employee means paying more than double, which is cost prohibitive.
    Most businesses don't need the add on and accounting tools when you move up to Grow or Comprehensive - allowing for an extra payroll add on for a small charge, would be beneficial for family and small businesses.

  17. New Invoicing - Type in Item - please change back to only searching start of field, as per old invoicing.
    Now that typing in the Item field in the new invoicing brings up every item with that word or part word in anywhere, we either need to learn all the codes, or make sure our items all contain totally different words. It takes ages to find the item required.

  18. Looking for deleting wrongly created General Pool, which were created during the conversion of file to Xero Blue. Currently we can record an end date to the pool, but it doesn't stop the previous pools to stop appearing on the 'Run Depreciation' screen. No balances recorded, no movement at all.

  19. When looking at the notes of a batch payment, it says "remittance advice emails were sent to 16 suppliers" - but I can't see anywhere that will tell me which 16 suppliers & which email addresses they were sent to. It would be great if I could see that.

  20. In app version, when we click omn Quotes then we see 2 options to choose- numer of quotes sent & number of quotes to invoice.
    When we click on number of quotes to invoice then we see all the quotes converted to invoice. But they appear as increasing order means oldest quote on top, we should have option to change the order i.e newest quote on top.
