  1. I like the feature that flags potential duplicate bills

    I'd like the feature to also check for potential spend money transactions that instead should have been applied to the bills (same for sales invoices and receive money transactions)

    If the bank statement line date is close to the bill due date, and if the amount is the same - that's enough to flag as a potential duplicate

    It would be wise to make the feature able to be turned off, for the cases where there are a lot of false matches

  2. The visual prompt that a VAT return has not been submitted should be very clear on the Home Page/Dashboard for Xero. It is easy to think that you have submitted your return when you haven't because the language "return is due in" can be misinterpreted as when the payment is going to be taken rather than when the return is to be submitted. When the return is overdue it is shown in RED however by this point (in the UK at least) the damage is done as penalties kick in.

  3. The current “Add Payment” workflow in invoices is inefficient for keyboard users. While manual entry of payment dates has been improved, the account selection still forces users to use the mouse, which breaks the flow.
    We need a smoother, full keyboard-navigable process when adding a payment to an invoice:
    1.Enter date manually (already possible )
    2.Press Tab to move to the Account field
    3.Type the account number directly
    4. Press Tab or Enter to confirm selection without needing to click the search bar or manually select the account with a mouse

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the possible solution we shared a few months ago. After careful consideration taking all feedback on board, we will not be moving forward with this solution.

    We're still considering how we might solve for the issues presented here over the long term and there are other pieces of work the team are currently delving into such as duplicate bills detection that may also help solve some needs here.

    That said, we'll move the idea back to Submitted and continue to keep you updated on any progression that can help the needs expressed through the idea here. Thanks

  6. Bills to Pay. When paying bills when the contact information populates the bill template the bank account for that contact should also be displayed. This would save the annoying and time consuming business of having to look up a contact in a seperate tab when they have 'please note new bank account' on their invoice which they often leave on for nine months or more and you can't remember if you have already changed it or not.

  7. Please can we have the option to group items on a sales invoice and those items not be visible on the printed / sent invoice. but full detail on our accounts.
    If this critical when having contractors working for you and clients accounts and you are billing the client for their time or services.
    Look at QuickBooks Group Invoice lines - works perfectly.

    You can't breakdown the invoice into items chargeable at your business rate because the contractor will see them (you can on QuickBooks).

  8. We print packing slips for every invoice we print, since the changes xero has made it has added another step in out process, we are all about streamlining our processes. We would like to revert back to the old way as this is adding time and is also adding more unnecessary files to our computer system. please help us to streamline this process again as the current system doesn`t work for us

When we eventually have to submit quarterly IT reports to HMRC, it will be very very helpful to be able to select which income accounts, and which expense accounts are include in the submission. Similar to being able to produce a custom profit and loss report. The reason being that some income or expense categories might be something that only gets included in the year end tax return calculations. My particular scenario as a sole trader is operating only one bank account, into which goes all my income, but out of which comes not only 100% business expenses, but also…

  14. For the payroll drop tap it would be good if we could have notification numbers next to say leave request and timesheets. Like the notifications of expenses.
    This helps to keep track on all leave submissions and what's approved.

  15. I get a lot of requests from clients that they would like their sales reps to be able to send statements this is not possible from invoice only settings. |Please add statements as optional field

    Further to select certain customers access to certain users as different sales reps do not want see all the sales reps sales numbers

  16. A option to have a price list added to a specific customer so that the pricing for that specific customer is automatically added when invoicing. I have been through the app store and cannot find an app that offers this feature and integrates with Xero. It is silly that all other accounting software offer this option yet Xero has no interest in adding it to their system

    This has been request by many for years but there is no indication if Xero is going to look at adding this in as a feature

  17. When the Allocate Amount pops up to allow for Pre-Payments to be allocated to an Invoice, I find I am going between Mouse, Tab, Numeric repeatedly. We have a large number of Clients who pay weekly and build up a number of Pre-Payments. It would be a lot easier to just use the mouse. Allow for a Double Click in the box containing what is available, or Double Click in the amount allocated, or something - but there has to be a simpler method.

  19. I would like to see the ability to type the tracking category into the field in the new invoicing, be available again rather than a drop down menu that its not user friendly or time saving. The drop down often jumps to the incorrect tracking category, even after the correct one is selected.

  20. Reduce the lag in items column when searching, it takes too long to search, sometimes up to 4secs! Please also change the location of the pop up message "default contacts have been applied", as when I start a new invoice the pop up message appears in the bottom left, but I'm trying to look at my contact info and enter items. The pop up box lingers too long and covers the information I need to read! This is frustrating every time when creating multiple invoices and I have to "x" the pop up message away each time, which then causes…

    Appreciate your feedback here, we're currently working on some updates to the line item grid where you enter the detail of your invoices and the 'Item' field is located. Part of the work the team are doing in this space should also address issues you've noted in the loading of items when you're invoicing.
