  1. When using the Reconcile Period feature for clients with multiple bank accounts, it is time-consuming to click in and out of each account to check if reconciliation is needed. It can also be difficult to remember which account you left off on, especially when reconciling at different times throughout the month.

    Displaying the ending date of the last reconciled period next to "Reconcile Period" and/or on the dashboard would provide a quick overview of the last reconciliation for each account, improving efficiency.

  2. The print date that now appears at the bottom of reports is useful for some reports and circumstances, and I understand this date is now turned off for Published Reports.

    However we do not 'publish' our financial statements - we send our financial statements to clients in a practical and informative pack instead. This is a more efficient, professional and streamlined approach for us.

Xero decided to limit the number of billable expenses one can view at a time when invoicing to 10, as was explained to me, because some organizations have a large number of billable expenses and it taxes the system and slows down the process of invoicing if more than 10 show. The exact opposite effect happens, however. Now, one has to page through dozens of windows to find the billable expense, instead of simply scrolling through 100+ bills. Even worse, there is no way to sort the bills, so the target of the invoice may be on page 36 taking…

    Hey Scott, really appreciate your feedback on our update here. We want to be transparent that the change to billable expenses in invoicing was something that we implemented due to lots of feedback that we received, and we don't have intentions on returning to the previous behaviour. On review, we first marked this as feedback based on it being a removal of a new feature, however we will shift this to Not in Pipeline to set expectation.

    This means other members will still be able to vote on this idea, and we can track if this is still an idea that trends.

  4. I would like easier access for entering multiple spend money transactions with a preview screen

    I suggest either;

    1) a separate email to send spend money receipts to like bills have; or

    2) when entering spend money transaction, after clicking save and add another, allow the preview pane to be available after attaching a file so you can still see the details of the receipt when entering (just like the preview is there when you enter a spend money from the files section) otherwise you have to go out of spend money and back to files just so you have…

    While we'll gain specific interest in being able to change a bill to a spend money from your idea here, I also wanted to highlight this one for being able to set up separate emails in a contact for different transaction types. I've made sure to add your vote to that too so if there are any updates to tackle this from that view you'll be notified, too.

  5. Hi Xero. I can log into Xero on my phone using facial recognition, but it's not available on my desktop, why is that? Should be easy to do, right? Current MFA whilst necessary is cumbersome, facial ID is simple and safe.

  7. It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
    Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful

  8. The new NZ WorkRide scheme works via a pre-tax deduction re salary sacrifice. Xero Support confirmed that right now there’s no functionality in Xero Payroll to process a pre-tax deduction. We have been advised that we need to manually adjust the tax in the draft pay run to reduce the PAYE withheld. Please enable your customers to comply with the NZ WorkRide scheme without the need for manual PAYE adjustments, by creating the ability to process pre-tax deductions.

  9. It would be really useful if there was an options to tag or colour code invoices in the list view, so that at a glance we could see invoices grouped together for any given reason.

    For example most of my invoices are paid via direct debit, so I'd love a way to tag/colour code the invoices that have not yet signed up for the debit system, so that I can see at a glance how many I am still missing and who I need to follow up on.

  10. As a Chartered Accountant, I’ve observed an issue in Xero’s handling of sick leave entitlements that I believe warrants improvement. Currently, if an employee is not included in the pay run closest to their sick leave entitlement date, the entitlement does not accrue. This creates a significant gap in compliance with employment obligations and adds unnecessary administrative burden to correct.
    To enhance the functionality and flexibility of Xero's payroll system, I think that sick leave entitlements should automatically accrue when the employee is included in any future pay run following their entitlement date. This adjustment would ensure compliance with employment…

    Thanks for your feedback of how Xero handles sick leave entitlements, Natalee.

    I've made sure this is shared back with our product team, and while we can understand the reason for change you'd like to see here, we want to be open that this isn't something we have planned in the immediate future.

    Right now, if an employee isn't included in the scheduled pay run when their leave anniversary date falls, you'll need to do a manual leave adjustment to grant the employee the missed entitlement.

    Currently just the first 2-4 words are shown. Details needed for quick use of Match Rules "OK" button are buried--requires clicking "more details" on each statement line, plus another click or Esc key to hide pop-up details window if "OK" button not used.

    1. Refunds: Manual credit notes are required for Shopify order refunds, which is time-consuming and error-prone for high-volume merchants.

    2. Taxes: Xero only supports reporting for one region. Duties and taxes from other regions must be tracked manually, causing discrepancies and extra work.

    Suggested Improvement:
    - Auto-generate credit notes for refunds.
    - Support multi-region tax reporting to match Shopify calculations.

  16. It is common for subscriptions to automatically attempt rebill 3 times, most customers expect this if there is a temporary card issue, it can be communicated with them in the failed payment notification. They shouldn't have to manually setup up the subscription again, especially if using the same card.

    Also if a customer is going going ahead with a subscription service, it makes sense that autopay is the default setting on the invoice. There needs to be the ability to disable it if they want to pay by bank transfer for example, but the default should be that their card…

  17. When adding a product to an invoice line it should not overwrite, or prompt to keep, existing descriptions, quantities, prices, etc (the other fields on that line).

    Currently if you have an existing line and go to add a product it replaces any text, prices, tax, etc on that line item. Sometimes we want to adjust a product without that happening.

  18. We would like to automatically transfer daily sales data (excluding GST) from Xero into our custom system. However, the current sales reporting options in Xero do not allow us to select a “Today” filter.

    At present, we have to manually set the date each day to get the daily sales amount, which makes automation difficult and time-consuming.

    Please add a “Today” filter option (similar to existing options like “This Month” or “Last Month”) so that businesses can easily pull daily sales data without manual date entry.
