  1. It would be great to have the ability that Xero gives you a warning when an item line in Invoicing has a $0.00 in the unit price before been approved.
    We have had clients that missed completing the price and then the Invoices are sent out.
    It would be handy if they got a reminder that this is $0.

    Thanks for sharing your idea with us, Gordon. As there are also legitimate scenarios where some customers may send 0.00 invoices adding an extra warning could also become frustrating.

    This is something we may consider as an optional control longer term but want to be upfront that we don't have any plans of right now. For now we'll get a sense of the interest in this from your idea here.

  2. It would save numerous steps if:

    When a new account is created from within a transaction (for instance spend money or journal entry) the option to add a reporting name was available, instead of having to update later through the chart of chart of accounts.

    When creating a new account, through the chart of accounts or elsewhere, that the Report Code mapping category could be allocated at the same time.

  3. The repsonse to my support case was to be told to post the bug here... seems a weird request, but sure...
    "The best way to get our product team to consider this would be to create a new product Idea on this, which is submitted to our product team who then go ahead and make changed based in priority."

    The santander batch file does not follow the santander format. In the past Santander used to accept the file anyway but they have now started rejecting it.

  5. Current user role permissions require the Standard or Advisor role to use the auto pay feature for invoices. However, this role also reveals financial information that a sales rep should not have. Our sales reps, therefore, have Invoice Create/Edit capabilities. Within these capabilities, or perhaps as an optional toggle, I would like them to be able to set up auto pay and see if it is active so they can get it set up for clients as part of the closing process.

  8. Please remove the requirement to have a date of birth for an employee.
    We have been asking for this to be removed for years, Xero recently told us it was an IRD requirement. We contacted our account manager at Inland Revenue and they said it is not an IRD requirement and that they have been in contact with Xero Payroll to make the field non-compulsory.

    The workaround that Xero gives of adding a made up date does not work and causes issues where IRD send letters that the date of birth does not match that client.

  10. It's currently not possible to export the Income Tax Self Assessment figures for the MTD for Income Tax quarterly submissions as a PDF to include them in a documents pack for client's approval via e-signature in Xero.

    This would be helpful from April 2026, so accountants can gain client's approval prior to submission with HMRC.

  11. Add the feature to run customer/supplier activity report for a range of customers.

    Xero team quote "this is already possible however it exists within a different report. You can run either the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail or Summary reports, where you'll be able to filter and select the contacts you'd like to run the report for."

    But it is not we required. Receivable only show outstanding receivable , not all transaction during the selected period for that customer.

    We would like to have some sort like customer movement report with selected filter of a range of customer.

    Hi there, appreciate you trying the report we shared in your last post. Taking on board your recent feedback, it still sounds like this is something you could get with Xero's existing reports.

    For example in the Receivable Invoice Details report, you could Group by Contact, select the Date Search to run by Due date, and add a filter for Status to only show invoices that are Approved or Sent, excluding those that are Paid.

    Alternatively the Aged Receivable Details report will offer similar information on only the invoices that are outstanding at the date the report is run.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback of the layout of detail in the Billable expenses modal of new invoicing. I've made sure to share your feedback here with the team.

    To confirm, right now the date column is still included in this view however if you have a few billable expenses to assign you'll need to scroll down and then will see a horizontal scroll bar so you can scroll across to the date. Understand this isn't the most obvious atm, and I'll keep you updated here of any planned change.

  13. What I need is for it to look like the Payroll Employee Summary, but with additional columns for Annual & Personal leave taken and the value of that leave.
    The report you are telling me is to messy to read.

    Hi Bethany, thanks for sharing this suggestion for improving our reports.

    We've reviewed your idea for an option to have Year-to-Date reports automatically generate columns for each month, which then total to the YTD figure. We can see how this dynamic layout would make monthly analysis much clearer and save time on report setup.

    Your suggestion is now ready to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how a report that automatically adds monthly columns as the year progresses would improve their own financial analysis.

  16. What happend -
    I imported invoices with an invalid account number. When I went to review the imported invoices in draft, the new invoicing AI technology selected suggested account codes for me, almost to fast for me to notice the account code was blank

    Why this is important -
    The "review draft invoices after import" step is critical in getting it right - I should be able to review exactly what I imported to see where the mistakes are. I can see this being an issue with integrations where invoices are imported via the API

For volume based businesses, we lose money (30c per transaction) on the stripe fee we pay vs what we can pass onto the customer (because there's no option currently to just pass on the full fee, just a %). That % can't legally be higher than what we are charged, and we can't add the 30c fee to the % anywhere in settings. When we're processing 1,000 transactions per month, we lose $300 to fees.   18. You can only allocate payment on accounts to a customer ledger on Xero by clicking 'Overpayment' which is very long winded. Please can this be simplified to select the customer and then allocate straight as a 'payment on account' and then this can be allocated to the invoice once this is uploaded.

    In addition, if there is money out that gets contra'd against money received from a client, there is no way of coding this to the customer ledger.

  19. I've been using your Bill.com integration for the last couple of weeks and I already had to reach out to Xero support twice to make a simple change in Bill.com settings. This requires the user (me) to open a case in Xero which subsequently has Xero support open a case in Bill.com (and then Xero support going back and forth between Bill.com and the user).

    There should be either:

    1. a settings page within Xero for all the Bill.com settings and variables or,

    2. Ability to have credentials on Bill.com to update the Bill.com settings.

  20. Being able to access supplier invoices using the link in the email. Currently we can only access the invoice related to the email. When trying to view other outstanding invoices, I get the message that I don't have permission to view that page and to have my access upgraded even though I have full access (bar subscriber). It would be great to be able to, as a bookkeeper, access other outstanding invoices. A lot of clients will use the link, see that they can access the other invoices, and not see an issue.
