Activity Statements - add a total for each column and not just an outstanding balance.
It would be useful to look at an activity statement to see how much a certain contact has been invoiced regardless of whether they have paid or not. At present, I can only see outstanding balances.

Aged Payables Detail report -
Aged Payables Detail Report - when a planned date isn't entered then the due date appears in the report by default.
Please remove this default and if a planned date is not allocated then leave blank or put Add date.2 votes -
New invoicing - Change options when printing from 'Cancel' to 'Leave as is'
New Invoicing. I see we got the ability to mark as sent when printing, which is great and fixes one of many defects which made me go back to classic a year ago. But the prompt that appears is bizzare and confusing. Classic always had "mark as sent" or "leave as it is" ... however new has "mark as sent" or "Canel" - which implies cancel the print job - except it doesn't (the x does this)... So on one hand a user if confused by cancel if they want to print without marking as sent, and 2 if they…

Aged Receivables report (detailed) - add colum for "COMMENTS"
Aged Receivables report - Include collector notes. Or even a "flag" to show there are notes in the background. (similar to the * expected date * which is on the "invoices owed to you" report)
But to allow free text.
To have a column in the aged receivables detailed report where you can add a brief note of most recent contact - to provide update when reviewing the clients

Product Search
When looking up product history Xero lists what invoices product was sold on. It would also be nice to be able to see the customer's name. This would make things much easier when trying to look up pricing assigned to specific customers.

Add Support for Payments on Account
Please implement functionality to record and manage payments on account (advance payments or deposits) without immediately creating an invoice or recognizing revenue.
This is essential for businesses that routinely accept deposits (e.g., wedding services, contractors, event planners).
It aligns with standard accounting practices and revenue recognition principles, which is crucial for accurate financial reporting.
Currently, Xero expects me to record income (as an invoice) up to 18 months in advance! That's not acceptable from an accounting or business management perspective.

New Invoicing - Select default for 'Approve' Button e.g not 'Approve & Email
Can there be a system setting which controls the default option on Invoices for the Approve button.
It is currently Approve & Email and we would like to have the default as just Approve.If it was a system setting companies could chose best option for them.

Through testing we found that majority of our customers would Approve and email an invoice at once, which is why this was developed as the default in new invoicing. That said we appreciate others would like a different action as their primary option.
While we don't have direct plans for adding the ability to set a default for this action, we're listening to your feedback and looking into how we can improve efficiency and speed things up for you when using new invoicing through the use of keyboard shortcuts. We'll share more news when we've confirmed what this shortcut looks like and are closer to providing this to you all.

Projects - Show project allocation (or blank) on Invoices/Bills overview and exports
Ability to show Xero Project assignment on the Invoice overview export report an the Bills export report so you can see what sales and costs have been allocated to which project or not at all.

Contact | Ability to add phone number for persons of a contact record
Have the option to add individual contact numbers as well s emails for each additional contact from separate departments

This may be a function we look to explore in the long-term so we're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here. Chart of accounts - Adding multiple new codes at once
Ability for advisors to add multiple new chart codes simultaneously - example setting up the current and non current portions of an equipment loan requiring 4 accounts when splitting repayments / unexpired interest.

Having reporting / base currency of reports that is different to the country in where Xero has been setup.

Shipping within invoice subtotal
There is currently no section to include shipping in the subtotal of an invoice.
As it is not a product or service, including them in the line of items doesnt look right, plus we don't usually charge gst on shipping. So if the shipping is a separate fee in the subtotal, it will be useful to give an option of charge gst or not for shipping.
I am used to having this available in the accounting software I used previously.

UK Payroll | Working pattern - Allocate pay rate and allow multiple patterns per employee
I work for a company where our employees can work on multiple contracts with different pay rates and different working hours for example 2 hours tues and wed at £11.50ph and thurs at £11.75.
It would be useful if you could allocate an hourly rate to a specific working pattern and then be able to allocate multiple patterns to one employee

Email templates - Remove the organisation name
As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to only show the organisations logo or to remove the organisation name from the email. This would help in customizing what is shown to recipients/clients.

7 votesHi team, the organisation name and logo shown on the invoice email is taken from the organisations details page. You can add your organisations logo on this page which will appear on emails sent from your organisation.

Reporting - Distinguish between 0.00 and nil balance accounts
On balance sheets or profit and loss reports. It would be amazing if there was a distinction between accounts that have nothing in them (e.g. -) and accounts that have a nil balance (e.g. 0). They currently have the same icon (-). Having different icons would make it easier to distinguish without having to click into the account.

Invoicing: Email receipt from within Invoice
At present, using Xero's Invoicing templates, you cannot send a "Receipt" from the Invoice -> Email screen. It prints as "Tax Invoice" with a zero balance. You have to click into the payment applied and send a "Receipt" from there.
If Xero labelled a paid Invoice as a 'Receipt', then surely we could use 'Receipt' templates - as you cannot unless using an advanced docx template with custom coding.
Secondary to that, Email templates - not being able to have a 'Receipt' template means that our "Receipts" go out with Xero's "View Full Invoice and Pay" message at the bottom…

Document Packs - Ability to include Audit Certificate for E-signing
Automatically provide the audit certificate for e-signatures applied in Document Packs. At the moment, you need to contact Xero Support to obtain the audit certificates, which often takes days, when you generally need these things urgently

Ability to split a main budget into tracking categories without having a seperate budget for each
Budgets are not working for us when using tracking categories. Ideally, I would like a single budget, but with the ability to add detailed line items by contract and revenue stream (our TC's). I have only managed to input budgets using the TC's individually - this means I would have 50+ budget veriosn when looking at the different compinations of contract and revenue stream whihc is not practical or manageable, especially when we start re-forecasting furthe along the year.
