Invoice History - Add CC'd Email Addresses for Complete Audit Trail
Ability to cc and bcc when sending emails from xero.
This would be very useful as we have many clients that like to have various other people copied in.
3 votesHey Freya, thank you for raising your idea to add CC'd email addresses for Invoice History. This sounds like it could really improve the tracking and auditing of historic invoices.
We have reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members.

NZ Payroll - transition employment basis instead of terminate
It would be great if could change casual employee to permanent without having to terminate the employee first and re-enter all their data and have to remember to delete their email address before adding to them as a new employee. It's especially annoying if they use XeroMe to submit timesheets. Other payroll such as IMS or MYOB don't require employees to be terminated and re-entered if their employment basis changes.
1 voteHi Karen. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on how you would like to see changes in employment basis reflected in Xero.
We've reviewed your idea and have put it forward to the community to get behind and support it.

Invoice Overview - Able to chose default tab it opens up on (Awaiting Payment)
Invoices - Awaiting payment
When clicking on invoices, it would be helpful to be able to select a default invoices tab I would like to land on. This feature is available for Bills and the user is able to select the 'Awaiting payment' tab as a default.
In the interest of having easy access and a quick view on which customers have not paid, it would be beneficial to introduce this feature.1 voteHey everyone 👋,
Thanks for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts on this idea ✨. We'd like to clear up some confusion. If you navigate through the main menu, the Invoices or Bills pages always default to the All tab, but clicking Invoices owed to you or Bills you need to pay from the dashboard takes you directly to the Awaiting Payment tab. As noted by others in this thread, one option for now is to bookmark the Awaiting Payment tab directly from your browser. Our product teams are continuously reviewing all the feedback on the Xero Product Ideas portal. While we can't make any promises about if or when this idea will be developed, your votes and comments are essential for helping us understand what's most important to you. We'll be sure to post another update if there are any changes to the status of this idea. In the meantime, please continue to add your votes and comments to help raise visibility.

Tracking Categories - Bank Feed Rules
We use location codes to sperate our transactions by site or (cost centre). I tried to create a bank rule to allow the transaction to be dynamically allocated to an individual location, depending on the location appearing in the transaction description.
I have been told that this does not currently exist.
1 voteHi Peter, thanks for sharing this idea about having the option for setting tracking categories in bank feed rules. This idea is now in Gaining Support status, which means it's open for the community to show their support through votes and comments. We encourage others who would find this useful to add their votes and share how they'd use this functionality. We'll keep an eye on the feedback and engagement this receives.

BRING BACK CLASSIC INVOICING
BRING BACK CLASSIC INVOICING
We are extremely frustrated with Xero's recent change to email branding, which now forces our invoices and communications to include the Xero logo. This change makes our company look unprofessional and cheap, as if we are using a third-party service rather than managing our own finances.Branding is crucial for maintaining trust and credibility with our clients, and this decision undermines that. As a result, we are now reverting to manually sending invoices outside of Xero to maintain our professional image—adding unnecessary time and effort to our workflows.
We urge Xero to reconsider this approach and allow businesses to control their own branding in client communications. Please provide an option to remove Xero branding from emails.

5 votesAppreciate your feedback here and I see you have also found the idea around the Xero logo shown on invoices sent to customers.
We want to be transparent that we will not be bringing back classic invoicing, however we are still committed to developing and bringing further improvements to new invoicing that we know matter to our customers. You'll find a few ideas that have been raised across the forums here that are in the progress of being worked on by our product teams.

Repeating Invoice - Introduction of the most basic features required
After years of using Xero and the majority of our invoices each month being repeat ones, I am increasingly frustrated with the lack of the most basic features for repeating invoices.
Combined, there are thousands of upvotes for the most basic features, most of which have been submitted years ago. And seem to go totally ignored by the Xero team.
I've listed just a few of these incredibly basic features below:
- Reporting - Report that shows Repeating Invoices
- Repeating invoices: Ability to copy them to create new ones
- Repeating Invoices - Generate invoice before invoice date
- Repeating Invoices - Day/Date placeholder option
- Repeating Invoice - bulk update of amounts
- Repeating Invoices - Schedule a specific time for repeating invoices to be generated and sent
- Repeating Invoice - Add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices
- Projects - Assign repeating invoice to a project
- Repeating Invoices - Bulk Import/Export
With more and more businesses following a subscription based model like us. It is critical that repeating invoices are given more attention by the Xero Product Team.
I for one am sick of paying for accounting software that doesn't live up to expectations and results in us having to invoice manually rather than being able to automate.

Xero Accounting App - Purchase orders in app search feature for tracking
I create a purchase order through the Xero App
I go to Categorise to an account - on my iPhone it has a search accounts feature, on my colleagues Samsung phone there is no search feature - he has to scroll through all the accounts listed to find the correct accounting code
Will this feature be added to Samsung phones? We also found this was the same when selecting Projects or Plant (tracking categories), on my iPhone I had a search feature, on his Samsung he did not and again would have to scroll through the extensive list we have to select

Navigation - Ability to rename menus
Please allow non-profits to change the terminology from sales to receipts etc on the new navigation pane. Sales is not appropriate for us . Thank you
1 voteGood to understand the rationale for your idea here, thanks Hilary. Being open we don't have any plans for enabling users to change the naming of menu's, however we'd like to get a sense of the interest in this sort of capability and understanding more of the terminology that most resonates for our customers here.

Invoicing - Option to add outstanding amounts to subsequent invoices at the bottom.
Could you enhance customer accounts by automatically adding outstanding amounts from previous invoices to the next issued invoice as a separate line item called 'outstanding fees'? This ensures customers can pay the full amount due, not just the current invoice.

Contacts - Option to add "New Project for This Contact"
Need the option on a contact page to open a new project for them. similar to the New invoice link

AU Payroll | Employee - View employment duration date below start date
The "Details" tab lists the employee's age under the "Date of birth" field.
Having "Employed for # Years & # Months" below the "Start date" field would be handy. It would give a quick, "at a glance" look at how long someone has been employed by a business for estimating notice periods and anticipating imminent entitlement to LSL.
Attached is what the "Date of birth" currently looks like (I've used my own name and birth year) and a mock-up of what I'm suggesting might look like.
Given that the "Details" tab already does almost exactly this, it should be a nothing effort to implement.

Repeating Invoice - ability to add End Date BEFORE the next invoice date
To be able to add an end date to a repeating invoice which is before the "next invoice date". Often clients do not receive notice that a repeating invoice will not be due until after the latest invoice has been sent. They don't want to delete the repeat invoice so they can see a history of previous repeats. Currently can't set an end date that is before the "next posting date".
1 voteHi Mandy, thanks for sharing your feedback on managing end dates for repeating invoices. We appreciate you explaining how this impacts your workflow. Your idea has been reviewed by our product team, and we've updated the status to Not in Pipeline, which means that while we've considered the suggestion, it's not on our foreseeable roadmap at this time. We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, but we value your input 💙 and encourage you to continue sharing your ideas with us. The idea remains open for votes, so if others in the community experience similar needs, their support could help us reassess in the future.

Purchase Order - Add attachments when copied to bill
When you mark a PO as billed and copy to a draft bill the files attached to the PO don't remain with it and attach to the draft bill. Very annoying that you have to re-save the file and re-attach it to the bill

Invoicing / Bills | List views - Freeze top row and first column
Ability to see Header rows and side columns on all screens when scrolling
As per Microsoft Office where the top and side ribbons remains static.
e.g. When you're in the Dashboard and scroll down it would be good if the top ribbon is static. It makes it easier to select another item (business; accounting; contact etc) without having to scroll up.The same with Bill Payments; Invoicing; reports etc where the top ribbon and column headers - see attached - would remain static as you scroll down the list.
The same as when you might have a lot of columns - it would be good to see the contact name remain static as you scroll right.
Or a freeze pane feature similar to excel.

Transition period for non UK organisations - managed financial year end
Can the transition period for change in financial year date be added to companies that are non UK organisations as well. we have a group of companies that all extended their financial year but i have only been able to use the transition period in UK organisations. Why is this not an option in non UK organisations?
1 voteHi Claire, thanks for raising this. We appreciate you sharing the want of having the transition period feature across all the regions while it is only currently available for UK organisations. Your idea is now in Gaining support status, meaning our community team have reviewed it and it's open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage others who would benefit from this to add their votes and share their use cases to help us understand the broader need.

Billable Expenses - Assigning items to customers, make clicking "OK" act like the "Assign" button
I regularly forget to click "assign" before "OK" when assigning a customer to a billable expense. In the attached screenshot, I've identified an expense, found the customer, and the line item is ticked. It's infuriating to have to remember to click "Assign" before "OK", when the rest of the interface is telling me that everything is all set and saved. While I try to remember to press the wretched "Assign" button first, could you please change the default so that clicking "OK" has the effect of clicking "Assign" automatically? There shouldn't be a separate "Assign" button.

UK Payroll - Select or deselect all employees in a pay run
Our payroll requirements vary across the year as we are very seasonal. It would be useful to be able to 'select all' or 'deselect all' when selecting who to pay when setting up a pay run. Having to deselect about 30 of 35 staff one by one is painful!

Xero Accounting App - Option to submit a Bill or Invoice for Approval
I would like to see full Xero usage on the Xero app. In this case, the ability to submit bills for approval instead of the current options of save and approve only.
1 voteThanks for your feedback. We know that having the option to submit a bill or invoice for approval directly from the Xero Accounting app would significantly improve your workflow. As noted in the comments, users have the option to log into the web version of Xero on their mobile devices allowing them to submit bills and invoices for approval. ⭐ This allows you to perform the approval process on your phone, though it's not as seamless as a native app experience. At this time, we have to prioritize which features we bring to the mobile app. The primary focus of the Xero Accounting app is on quick, simple tasks, like creating basic invoices and submitting expenses. Complex workflows, such as bill and invoice approvals, are better suited for the desktop version due to their complexity and the constraints of the smaller mobile screen. We will continue to review and consider this idea as we plan for future updates. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope that the workaround helps in the meantime.

Multicurrency - Option to not assign Tracking Categories to Bank Revaluation
Currently our monthly bank revaluation FX diff is being automatically coded by Xero to be split between tracking categories rather than simply being "unassigned". However, for our purposes, once USD are banked, they no longer "belong" to that tracking category and instead are general company funds. It is impossible to tell Xero to stop coding revaluation amounts to tracking categories but this doesn't make sense for the accounts, especially when a tracking category finished within the business months ago. It would make more sense for the FX funds held to be an unassigned tracking category once they are in the bank, or at least have the option to turn this "un-tracking" on.
