AU Payroll - Ability to edit timesheet tracking after a pay run is processed
At the moment, if an employee allocates their hours to the wrong cost centre (i.e. the incorrect Xero tracking category) and the payroll has already been posted, there’s no way to correct the allocation — even if the pay run hasn’t yet been submitted to the ATO.
This becomes problematic for organisations like ours that rely on accurate tracking of labour costs by project or cost centre. In most cases, the number of hours worked remains correct — it’s just the cost centre allocation that needs fixing.
Would it be possible to introduce a feature that allows tracking categories to be edited after payroll is posted but before it’s submitted to the ATO? This would ensure better cost reporting without affecting the integrity of the pay run or submitted data.

Permissions - Auditor roles that allows read only access to everything
We're auditors and some of our clients are having issues around providing consistent access to everything as they don't want us to have read-write access, and we don't want that either. What we'd like is a user class for auditors/regulators which is read only and allows access to everything.

Sales Credit Notes - Allow editing branding theme on paid credit notes
Currently it is possible to change the branding applied to invoices even after they are paid. It is not possible to do the same for a credit note which means that if there is a change in corporate branding that any credit notes that have been posted need to be recreated to be able to make the change. This should not be so difficult.

History and Notes report - Contact details
It would be really useful to see the contact name on the History and Notes report.
We use this report to track bank account changes but we also check newly added supplier bank account details. Seeing which contact each line relates to would help us group them and know if an 'Edited - Bank.....' relates to the same contact as a 'Created' so we don't need to go into each line7 votes -

Hi Xero Team,
I’d love to suggest a feature that would really improve efficiency when invoicing clients with recurring or frequent billing.
In QuickBooks, when selecting a contact on an invoice, it would show a quick reference of that client’s last 5 invoice amounts. This helped a lot with ensuring consistency in recurring invoices, especially when amounts vary slightly month-to-month.
In Xero, the “Add Last Item” toggle doesn’t quite solve this, since many clients have more than one invoice per month — so it may not reflect the most relevant or recent invoice for the context.
It would be amazing to have a summary (maybe a small expandable section) showing the most recent 3–5 invoice totals and dates for that contact directly in the invoice view.

NZ Payroll - Notification when an employee is added or removed
Can we please have an automatic email notification to the subscriber when a organisation adds or removes an employee - This would be required for the purposes of updating billing when the ability to add additional employees for $4 takes place in September 2025.

Login - Ability to set a Password Expiry
Hi Community,
In relation to XERO security, I suggest all users should have a password expiry functionality where after a period (eg 6 months) it prompts all users to change their password.

NZ GST - Move 'File with IR' button to top of page
Moving the button to File with IR from the bottom to top of screen, to make it more obvious.

NZ GST - Export customised return
Ability to export the GST return with the layout as customised on the screen. For example if columns have been hidden these are not shown in the exported file.

Inventory - Add multiple suppliers for same product
When adding products from suppliers, it would be great to be able to add multiple suppliers details on one product (to save having the same item listed multiple times with each individual suppliers codes/costs etc). For example Supplier 1: Coca Cola Cans, Code: 1234 Cost: £12.99, Supplier 2: Coca Cola Cans, Code: A1244, Cost: £19.50. Rather have Coca Cola saved twice had sections within that product for multiple suppliers.

Bank Feeds - Request for bank feeds for ABN AMRO Bank
Please instate bank feeds for ABN AMRO bank (the Netherlands). I joined Xero for its highly automated systems. Now I still have to download and import bank statements manually.
It adds insult to injury for the fact I have to sign up to a premium plan to be able to account in a mere two currencies. For small traders like myself with low turn-overs and no need for the majority of features larger companies need, this feels deeply inappropriate and unfair. (another idea about this topic is already live elsewhere)

While our Open Banking connections in the EU currently cover only Denmark and Ireland, you can still keep your ABN AMRO transactions up to date in Xero by manually importing your statements.

Account transactions report - Comparatives
Essential for cash flow and projections, an annual report divided by month that includes source and base currencies.
The "Account Transactions" report currently enables us to overview all accounts (Balance Sheet and P&L) in both currencies (source and base) but lacks a feature to display 12 months alongside each other.

NZ Payroll - Copy timesheet tracking
It would be great if we could copy timesheet tracking each week. We have a client that has extensive tracking for timesheets - with some employees having time tracked to a number of different tracking codes. It would be a huge timesaver to be able to save the tracking for each employee so we do not need to enter it each payrun.

Tracked inventory - Add opening stock when creating new item
When entering a new stock item, there isn't an opening to enter opening stock.
We need to create the item first then enter the quantities in an adjustment tab.
It makes sense to make adjustments to items already created, but surely we should be able enter an opening stock value when creating an item, this would save us a lot of time.3 votesHi, thanks for sharing this idea about setting the opening stock for a tracked item at the same time you add it.

As for how this is currently done, as well as setting the item's starting Quantity on Hand, there needs to be an accounting record for where the existing Value comes from.
The current process is to add the item(s) as Tracked and then either:
- Importing the opening balances for your tracked items. *This option is only for when you first start using Tracked Inventory in your organisation*.
- Entering an approving a Supplier Bill to record the first purchase of the item.
- Entering an Adjustment (Increase Quantity-type) to move the value from another account (the adjustment account) to the Inventory Asset Account.

Short term cash flow include repeat quarterly transaction
Would love that within money out/in and repeating the transaction that 'quarterly option' was included.
example: BAS, Super & PAYGIt would be great if this was an option for those using the short-term cash flow regularly.

Reporting - Filter the Profit and Loss by Contact
When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.

New Invoicing - Add Total at Top
Add a total invoice amount at the top of the screen like the old invoicing format. It's a pain to open an invoice and have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find the total amount of the invoice, especially if it's a long invoice. The old invoice format shows the invoice total at the top of screen
9 votesWhile we don't have any direct plans for adding a total back at the top of the invoice, it'd be good to get a sense of the interest if this is important to others in community here, too.
Though I appreciate it's not a solve for the idea. To help speed up getting to the bottom of the page on those lengthier invoices, Julie you may find using the 'end' button on your keyboard helpful 🙂

Navigation - Restore Organisation Name
Expand the field to the right of Xero (top left) to show more than 2 letters for the active organisation.
In the Home view, I can see the company name (below Xero), but not in other views.

Currently which ever screen you navigate to you should see the organisation name in the top left of the navigation bar next to 'Xero'. In the top right you'll be able to see your login profile picture, or if you haven't uploaded one this will show your profile name initials.
