Inventory - In-built calculator for Sale Price
Xero features a handy inbuilt calculator on its invoices. However, this feature is rather useless if one is populating the invoice with inventory items ("Products and Services") where the Cost Price and Sale Price have already been set, or migrating said items from Projects to a new invoice.
Having the inbuilt calculator in the Sale Price text box when setting up or updating Inventory Items would eliminate the need to keep switching from Xero to a calculator app to apply the correct markup for each item. Better yet would be a dropdown menu feature like is found in Projects to choose "% Markup, Custom Price, Pass Cost on, Nonchargeable" for greater flexibility with inventory items. These are two features that already exist in the Xero universe. It shouldn't be too difficult to apply them here.

Invoice | Create item - Ability to copy & paste from invoice lines
It is very frustrating to not be able to copy & paste the line items on an invoice attachment when creating a new item to the inventory list.

Manual Journals - add drag and drop to import feature
Add drag and drop import feature or allow multiple journals to be import at the same time. For example adding daily sales/payment journals this would a gamechanger in time it take to complete these tasks
1 voteHi everyone, as a quick confirmation through the idea - Right now you can use a CSV file to enter data and import multiple manual journals at once.
However, as per the request in this idea it is not currently possible to select or drag and drop multiple files to upload and create multiple manual journals at once.
If this is something you'd find valuable please add your support to this idea. We're interested to understand the community appetite in this feature.

Files Folders - Drag and drop files to change order
Within Files folder, to sort by drag and drop please? These are remittance advice for Gift Aid payments from HMRC and therefore not attached to any invoices BUT can get uploaded in the wrong order which is confusing for the auditor. Currently the only option is to download the whole contents, sort and reload.
Also could it be made possible please to have subfolders so that we can easily divide eg monthly investment reports by financial year without having a long list of separate folders in the main index?3 votes -
Mobile App - Select multiple images at once when adding to an invoice
can you make the selection of multiple files possible when adding images to invoices please. i have to navigate to my phones picture folder when i am invoicing out my expenses for the month. i have to attach copies of my receipts to the invoice and its painful only being able to add them one at a time.

Bills - Purchase order number field on bill

Business Snapshot - Remove loan bank account from current ratio
I would like to request that the parameters around the business snapshot ratio's (specifically current ratio) exclude long term loans that are connected to a bank feed.
Currently if a long term loan is connected to a bank feed it must be allocated as "Bank" this then over rides any account type or account mapping settings otherwise designating the account as a long term liability in regard to ratio's. Xero simply assumes if it is "bank" it must be an overdraft or credit card and therefore is a current liability. This deems any ratio's within the business snapshot relying on current vs long term as null and void.
When setting up a "bank" account in Xero, it asks if the account is an everyday, loan or credit card, the very act of selecting "loan" should either a) denote it's likely long term, not current. Or b) prompt an additional question as to whether the loan is long or short term.
We should not have to sacrifice using a fundamental basic tool in Xero (the bankfeed) in order to utilise tools such as business snapshot ratios. Especially not for something that seems so fundamentally basic, there must be many, many businesses using a bank feed for long term loan accounts who are also trying to utilise tools such as ratio's.
I don't believe this is a feature request but rather an urgent break/ fix.

CIS: Mark CIS returns as filed when submitted outside of Xero
It is not possible for CIS returns to be marked as filed when submitted outside of Xero, resulting in historic returns showing as overdue.
It would be helpful to mark CIS returns as filed when submitted outside of Xero, as is currently possible with VAT returns.6 votes -

Fixed Assets - Add tax depreciation for UK
Fixed Assets - Add tax depreciation for UK
At the moment, only the Australian version of Xero offers a tax depreciation function. We need this feature in the UK version too if Xero Tax is to be considered as a serious Tax software.2 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. Navigation - Ability to submit feedback in product
There isn't anywhere in Xero where we can add brief feedback. This would be helpful to have in the help menu please.
For example there is a new issue after the new updates on invoicing - this feature would allow a quick notification to Xero that something needs fixed or we are super impressed with new changes! It takes too long to add something to product ideas (like now), to be ignored or gather a lot of voters before something is fixed. Same with raising a case, most of the time it wont be a fix, we get directed back to here. There isn't anywhere in Xero where we can add brief feedback. New invoicing - Change layout of buttons/options
What's most wrong with the new invoicing template is that the most useful features have been shifted to to the bottom of the layout , so you have to scroll to the bottom to use them. Also the default of approve and send is not the best option , approve would be better ( or perhaps a way to choose that box default would be terrific. Also to attach files , all the way to the bottom we go, thats crazy . also the size of the template is too big , it needs to be more compact its adds to the scrolling required to add lines to the invoice and why was the add 5, 10 or 20 lines removed, that proved to be very helpful ( at least put back the add 5 lines) why because to not have it there at the start of making the invoice ,means due to visual overwhelming of the layout, it seem to have made every invoice line 3 times as big and the length of the invoice 3 times longer . its very slow and time consuming and very unfriendly. I am sure there are improvements and this is most welcome, but why cause everyone to feel so frustrated to offer some badly needed benefits ( I do like the add previous used items and the save and close button...
Honestly, it the visual appeal and effort it takes ( extra clicks taken) o find , action and do , what was so easy in the classic version.IS anyone actually listening to us the users???. or is it all mandated , if mandated, I think you will lose customers over time, which is a shame, as xero is very functional now and does offer people great choices, value for money is questionable, but as far as features go, it has become one of the leaders. If payroll wasn't so expensive on number of employees ( larger numbers) then I would say Xero was very reasonable generally speaking...

5 votesThanks for feeding back to us here, Mark. I want to assure you our product teams and leadership are very attentive to the feedback we've been receiving from customers on the new invoicing experience and we're committed to improving this.
It helps for each of the points you've raised to be tracked separately so our teams can consider the votes as a factor when prioritising and planning development, as well as keeping the communication clear of the changes we're making.
Many of the things you've shared are being worked on and we have separate ideas for these that I've listed below and welcome you to join and vote for each, if you'd like.
Trying to get a better view of the placement of buttons that you mentioned - would this just be the Attach files option or is there another that you would like to see shifted above, too?

Projects - Description field when adding an Expense
It would be useful if when manually adding an expense to a project, there could be a description box available as well as entering the expense name. We sometimes need to elaborate on those costs for the numerous people looking at that expense but there is no-where to put this information unless it's added to the expense name.
2 votesHi Nicola, really appreciate you taking the time to share this idea. Right now, the only place to add detail when recording an expense in a project is the Expense Name field, which is limited to 100 characters. You can consider this as a workaround to include a short description with the title— but we know that it’s not an ideal solution when you need to provide more context or add a professional level of detail.
This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If you’ve found creative ways to work around this or have thoughts on what a proper description field should include, we’d love to hear them. The more insight we get from real workflows, the more helpful it is in shaping future updates.
We look forward to seeing more discussions on this idea.

Invoicing - Increase the Font Size
Rows on invoices - On the new invoicing manually adding rows is cumbersome for a mechanic business suggest making more than 1 row on the invoice. I rarely have an invoice which is less than 6 rows.
Font size- Font is very small and should be increased to at minimum 12pt.2 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

Reports - Add planned payment date direct from reports
It would be really helpful if there was the option to add a planned payment date for all invoices listed on a particular aged creditors report. Having customised reports so that only invoices on particular job sites are listed, it then seems very inefficient to have to access 'bills to be paid' and manually, individually search each of the invoices listed on the report to schedule a payment date for them. Could this not be a function, whereby you can schedule them all for payment directly from the aged creditors report?

Custom Reports - Include Balance sheet accounts to report movements
Hey - when making a custom report it would be really useful to be able to show the movement in balance sheet codes. For example, when preparing our month end summary we can't bring in the capitalised wages cost automatically because it brings in the cumulative balance, rather than the balance for the period. To be honest it's crazy to me that this doesn't exist, but would be great if it could!
2 votesThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Ryan. We appreciate you taking your time to share changes that would be most meaningful to you.
Being open, we don't have any current plans for changing the Custom report behaviour but we'll continue to track the interest through your idea here and will update if there is any changes to share.

Purchase Orders - Expand column width to show longer PO numbers
The PO number space under Purchase Order View is limited, we cannot view our full PO number, refer to picture
Please extend the column, else Xero should restrict the maximum allowance length for PO number format.

Repeating Invoice - automatically calculating days of the month in the qty field
Repeating Monthly Invoices:
Can we have a feature where monthly invoices have the ability to automatically calculate the days in that month based on the date in the "next invoice date". Therefore it doesn't need to be manually changed. Eg Monthly repeating invoice. next Invoice date - 1 November 2024. Qty - 30

Invoicing - Import with Sent status
Make it possible for imported invoices to be marked as sent when importing them.
Perhaps an additional column in the template Mark as sent status "Y for sent N for not sent"
If this is not possible the ability to bulk "mark as sent"
this would eliminate the issue of individually opening each invoice to manually "mark as sent" to activate the auto invoice reminders4 votes
