Invoices - Filter and Download Specific Invoices in Customer Statement
I would like to submit a feature request for the Statement of Account (SOA) report. Currently, the SOA allows for downloading the entire account summary for a contact, but it lacks the ability to filter and download specific invoices based on types or any other granular filtering or customization.
For example, in my organization, clients sometimes use multiple revenue streams. Invoices are categorized by these revenue streams. There are instances where my clients only need the SOA for one particular revenue stream.
It would be incredibly helpful if the SOA report could include a filtering option where users can select invoices by their type or status before downloading them as a PDF. This would eliminate the need to manually sort through the entire SOA and improve overall efficiency when managing accounts with multiple revenue streams.
I believe this feature would significantly enhance the functionality of the SOA report and make it more customizable to suit businesses with diverse invoicing needs.
Hope to see this feature in a future update.

AU Payroll - Automatically email payslips
Hi
There is a suggestion to add the function of automatically email employee payslips to their email address instead of spending time to manually do it again and this should be restricted for permitted user access.

New invoicing - Ability to type in the tracking category field
I would like to see the ability to type the tracking category into the field in the new invoicing, be available again rather than a drop down menu that its not user friendly or time saving. The drop down often jumps to the incorrect tracking category, even after the correct one is selected.

New invoicing - Inbuilt calculator when posting payment
New invoicing is missing the mark by getting rid of Classic Features. I can no longer do math when making a payment. I will often post a partial payment ie: 50% payment, I can add /2 or *.5 after the prefilled amount. I can no longer do this in New Invoicing. Why get rid of features? So frustrating now that Classic Invoicing is gone in less than 50 days. It was much more efficient to have add payment at the bottom of the invoice opposed to jumping to the top of the screen to add a payment, and now the Pop out screen won't allow math.

New Invoicing - Make it work with Projects
The new invoicing doesn't work properly with Projects! A disaster for me this morning - trebled the time it takes to do my weekly Projects invoices. When it falls over because it can't find the GL Code to use, and doesn't even have subtotal and total fields....did someone forget about that when they were adding all the new empty space on the screen and screwing the work flow up?
6 votesHi Karen, this does sound like odd behaviour and would be good to get a closer look into. I see you've also come into our Xero Support team and they've suggested booking a time to connect and share screen so they can see the behaviour occurring for you. If you can respond to them through your My Cases they can investigate this with you 1-on-1. Thanks

Reporting - Update Custom reports for change in chart of accounts
When a custom P&L is created it does not update if there is any change in the chart of accounts. For example, if we move a nominal from the P&L to the BS it will still show in the P&L if the custom report was created before the move. This is a major flaw and when raised with Xero we are told to just re-do the custom reports, some of which take a long time to do.

Sales Invoice - Import with attachments
Import the sales invoices to Xero with the PDFs being attached to the invoice automatically. I understand we can import sales invoices through CSV files but to provide relative documents to customers, we need to attach pdf manually. Would be great if this could be possible. This action can save time and possible error of attaching a wrong pdf.
16 votesAppreciate the interest in the idea here. Being open with a lot of work focused on iterating and adding features to new invoicing atm we don't have plans for this in the short-term. We'll continue to track the interest of the idea and if there is any change to share we'll update you here.

Instagram link
I would love to link the practice to Instagram for clients to find us. I have more followers there than FB. I also get more inquiries from IG.
2 votesThanks for your feedback, Tonia.
While it's not currently possible to add your Instagram link to your advisor listing on xero.com, you could add your Xero advisor listing URL from xero.com to add to your Instagram page.
We don't have direct plans for adding more social link options to Xero advisor listings atm, but we'd like to get a sense of the community support for this that our product team can consider.

Contact - Ability to copy & paste bank account number (accept spaces not just hyphens)
When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.
All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.
So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.
It would be very nice if Xero followed the same formatting all the way through.
Can you change to format of bank account numbers on the invoices to hyphenated rather then the current space separated number blocks?

Invoices - Show 0% tax on non-taxable items, and correct tax % on taxable items in Invoice preview
In Invoice preview for a non- taxable line item there is a tax rate on the line item. At the bottom where tax is calculated the total tax is correct (it does not include tax on the non-taxable item). It is confusing for a client looking at the invoice, they may think they are being taxed on the non-taxable item. Can invoice preview show 0% tax on the non-taxable item and the correct tax % on the taxable item.
1 voteHi Larina, thanks for raising this point about invoice clarity. We agree that it's really important for customer-facing documents to be as clear and easy to understand as possible to avoid any confusion.
We've reviewed your suggestion to have the Invoice preview explicitly show a 0% tax rate on non-taxable line items, while still showing the correct rate on taxable items. We can see how this would make the invoice breakdown much clearer for your clients.
Your idea is now open to gain support and feedback from other members of the community. Along with votes, we encourage others to share their own experiences and comment on how this change would help improve clarity on their invoices.🙂

GST period settings - Allow for non-standard periods
When a client changes their GST taxable periods (e.g. 2-monthly to 6-monthly filing) they often need to file a return for a non-standard number of months to align with their balance date (e.g. 4-month GST return). It would be nice to be able to change the GST period settings in Xero to allow for the non-standard GST return to be filed directly from Xero.

Sharing Economy Reporting Regime Report (SERR)
The ATO has announced a Sharing Economy Reporting Regime Report (SERR) where all Sharing Economy businesses also known as 'EDP operator' (electronic distribution platform) also known as "Intermediary" are required to report twice a year. When will this Report be prioritised by Xero?

AU Payroll - Working Holiday Maker Tax Rate Adjustment
Hi Xero Team,
I’ve noticed that Xero currently doesn’t support applying mixed tax brackets within the same pay run for Working Holiday Makers (WHM). For example, if an employee is set to receive $2,000 in one pay cycle, and the $45,000 threshold is reached after the first $1,000, the first $1,000 should be taxed at 15%, and the remaining $1,000 at 30% — both within the same pay cycle, using mixed tax brackets.
At the moment, Xero applies one tax bracket to the entire pay cycle. However, according to the ATO guidelines, doing so results in undercharging the employee, which could impact their tax return.
Other payroll systems have implemented this feature, so I’m curious as to why Xero hasn’t yet done so.
Thank you for your consideration!

Invoicing - Show Delivery Address on invoices by default
Enable the option for invoices to by default display both billing and delivery addresses.
27 votesHi team, while not a 'default' option for this within Xero, you could achieve this using a Custom DOCX branding theme, with an advanced invoice template.
With the template open in Microsoft Word, you can add the ContactPhysicalAddress merge field where you want their Delivery Address to appear.
You can add your logo and make any other changes you'd like, before saving the file and uploading it back into your branding theme in Xero.
You'll then want to select this custom branding theme for your invoices.

Stripe - Import Invoices to Xero created in Stripe
Invoices which have been created directly in Stripe are integrated with Xero so that the invoices import into Xero and then when payments are received, if payment is received via Stripe, this marks the invoice as paid to the bank account in Xero (which will then allow for reconciliation with the payment from Stripe) or if paid by a bank deposit these can be reconciled in Xero and will mark as paid in Stripe also.

AU Payroll - Superannuation end of quarter reminder
Would be great if Xero could trigger an automated (email and/or text) reminder to the superannuation payment approver 10, 5 and one days out from the superannuation due date each quarter.
A similar reminder feature already exists in XPM for Activity Statement Lodgements - reminders can be turned on.
Xero also has the ability to automate reminders to Customers around bill payment.
Xero has the email and SMS of the superannaution approver already on file.
Advantage of these reminders:
Super gets paid on time - we're all human and life can take over and sometimes things get missed - a reminder is an additional prompt.
Continues to reinforce to the client the importance of the payment, and that the approval should be made well before the due date
Reduces the risk of late super payments, which have a negative impact on clients - lack of deductibility, additional penalties, and additional SG liabilities - this also has a cost impost in the preparation of SG statements by advisors, and can create friction between the client and the advisor around "why these need to be done"

Bill payments (US) - ETA tracker
It would be nice to click into the bills that were paid via the new Xero Bill.com embed and see the ETA. This hits on the emails but if there's an update or delay, there's no way to see the updated ETA. Also, it would just be very convenient. Thanks.
