  1. Fix Tabbing issue when creating reconcile period. When creating a reconcile period I enter the first date of a Statement Date Range, hit tab and instead of going to the last date of the Statement Date Range where it should go, it weirdly tabs to the opening statement balance, forcing me to go back and click on the ending date box.

Thanks for your post here , Brenda.

Appreciate some customers prefer to use the keyboard to enter data. I've checked this in with our product team and can confirm, currently if you're entering a date via the keyboard and then press Tab, the cursor will move to the opening balances field.

Appreciate it's not the solution you're asking here, however atm you can press the return key to select the date from the date picker, which will automatically move the cursor to the end of the date field.

We're keeping a watchful eye on the interest of the idea to understand the interest in this.

  3. I have been a customer for over 10 years.

☹️ You have taken away above feature in the Xero App which I rely on very heavily. I am bitterly disappointed about this. I need this back. Can you please reinstate it?

Hi community, while we appreciate you raising this with us here I want to confirm that there are no plans to bring back the 'I want to be repaid' option in the Xero Accounting app. This option was connected to classic expenses which has been replaced by Xero Expenses where we have a separate app where employees can submit these expense claim type receipts through. If you're not familiar with Xero Expenses just yet, you can find more on this and how to get set up through Xero Central.

  5. Currently in XERO if you use more than one Ordinary Time Earnings Pay Item per employee the Annual Salary Calculation on the Payslip is incorrect. Using more than one is useful as there are some employees I like to apportion to 2 x areas. Example: It might be 1 day a week on Admin 4 days on Production. Whilst we can do this currently in XERO, as noted above the Annual Salary is incorrect. So - either - separate the Salary field from the Pay Item or change (fix) the way XERO calculates the Annual Salary. Note I am aware…

  6. Copying part of a sent invoice perhaps just invoice number and amount to my e-mail would avoid a problem I had.
My e-mails were hacked and a monthly rent invoice I had sent was copied the next month with amended bank details.
I no longer send copies to my e-mail although now I have to concentrate more so I know which ones I have sent.
This type of fraud has happened to someone else I know - we are more careful with our e-mail security now.

I'm sorry to hear that your email was hacked, Joanne. As you may have seen in other ideas on the site we are working to develop the History & Notes so you'll soon be able to see detail of the email an invoice has been sent too. Doesn't ideally solve for what you're asking here, so we'll continue to track this separately and update if there's any news of having more control of what you can send with the send to self option.

  7. When Reconciling a large bank feed It would be good if the page went back to the top so that we did not have to scroll up every time.
At the moment when you get to the bottom and page forward it stays at the bottom of that screen

Not a direct solution to what you're asking here, Tony. However you may find it a useful shortcut to press the 'Home' button on your keyboard which should bump you from the bottom to the top of any screen 😊

  8. Overseas Borrower Student Loan repayments have different payment dates (30 September and 31 March), there is currently no functionality within Xero Tax (NZ) to manage these payments. I understand it is not possible for the system to calculate the repayment amounts as these are determined based on the loan balance, but if there could be an override amount like for Provisional Tax that would be useful, instead of having to track these borrowers manually.

  9. I would like to submit a feature request for the Statement of Account (SOA) report. Currently, the SOA allows for downloading the entire account summary for a contact, but it lacks the ability to filter and download specific invoices based on types or any other granular filtering or customization.

For example, in my organization, clients sometimes use multiple revenue streams. Invoices are categorized by these revenue streams. There are instances where my clients only need the SOA for one particular revenue stream.

It would be incredibly helpful if the SOA report could include a filtering option where users can select…

  10. I would like to be able to use JAX prompts to search bills to pay or to ask general questions about previously paid bills.

    For example:

    • Show me all the bills paid to supplier X before/after invoice date [insert date]
    • Show me all the bills for this amount [insert amount]
    • Find all the bills that were created with Tax Inclusive (or Tax Exclusive or No Tax).
    • Start a new bill for supplier [insert supplier name] with the following item codes [insert list of item codes]

Currently, JAX doesn't seem to have any knowledge about bills.

    It also seems to assume…

Thanks for your feedback, Mark. I've made sure this is shared with our product team.

We're continuously looking to prioritise use cases which our customers get most value from, so it's great to hear other ways you'd like to use JAX, here.

We'll keep you updated as we introduce more use cases.

If anyone know of an alternative please share on this channel. I'm exploring Thriday to make this feature available soon.

  12. "Common Expenses" - fix product flaw.
    In Xero app, as follows:
    -Purchases
    - +
    -Add receipt
    -Tap:Categorise to an acct
-acct list pops up with heading "Common expenses". 2 accts listed which I rarely use.
PLEASE FIX : there is no way to edit the list of accts under the heading at the top "common expenses". See my screen shot

Thanks for sharing your idea, Tim. I'm just checking in with our team to see if there's any way you can influence the 'Common expense' accounts that are shown. Will round back to confirm with you here.

  13. Repeating Invoice - Bulk update next invoice date

I am an accountant with clients who make use of repeating invoices. The current problem is that in certain months they want to run their invoices on different dates due to public holidays or festive season. In these situations they have to manually go and update the "next invoice date" in each invoice.

I want to suggest a bulk action for this as it would end up saving hours for the businesses.

  14. A few things I've noticed that annoy me that I think could be tweaked;

    • Duplicate bills screen is a complete waste of time in its current state. Either change the parameters for what flags as a duplicate (ie - if it's the same amount, it should also be the same date, or check for duplicate reference numbers attached to the same supplier). Also give the option to ignore all duplicates from certain suppliers or if something appears, an option to never remind for this supplier & amount again.
Also there's a button to provide feedback that doesn't work.

    • The new…

  15. We would like the possibility to assign a validity period to each new "Tracking Category" entry.

This would mean that you don't have to see all options every time the Tracking Category drop down list is selected e.g. when entering an invoice.

It would also help to limit the Tracking Category options available to employees, for example, when they enter their expenses.

Hi Amanda, Tracking was originally designed to be used as a way to track and monitor parts of the business that did not have a lifespan like departments. Appreciate there are many different ways our customers have grown to use tracking, and we'll start to track the interest in this through your idea. But do want to be open that we don't have any plans for this at present.

  16. In repeating invoices we often use the tax year mostly in this format 2025/26 but also 25/26.
Whilst we can use placeholders [year]/[year+1] to give us 2025/2026 it is not ideal and this would need changing after the December invoices which is administratively the same as manually changing the tax year in the invoices at the beginning of the tax year.
It would be good to be able to use [taxyear] and not have to change it again.
This would be really easy to implement, therefore it probably will be overlooked. Here's hoping.

  17. I would like to suggest adding the capability to generate Sankey diagrams within Xero. Sankey diagrams are highly effective in visualizing the flow of resources, such as money, energy, or data, through different stages or categories. They could be used to illustrate cash flow, revenue distribution, and expense breakdowns in a more intuitive and engaging way.

By adding Sankey diagrams, Xero could offer users a more dynamic and insightful view of their financial data, helping them better understand how money moves through their business, leading to improved decision-making and reporting.

Interesting idea and good to hear the different visualisations that'd help our customers understand their business, Paul. This isn't something we have immediate plans for but will be good to get a understanding of the interest from the community here.

  20. When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.

All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.

So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.

    It would…
