Billable Expenses - Assign to repeating invoices
I want to assign the customer to repeating invoices like software subscriptions that we pay for our clients. I have those bills in as repeating invoices but I have to assign the customer to them every month. It would be nice to be able to assign the customer on the repeating invoice and save that time each month.

Invoice - Prefix in Date Format YYYYMMDD-01
Invoices - Prefix in Date Format
It would be great we could choose an invoice prefix in a date format that automatically updates each day. For example 20231123-01, 20231124-01 02 03 etc.
I track my invoices by the date in which I send them so this feature would save me alot of time instead of having to manually update the date in the invoice prefix each day.

Invoices - Make Due Date non-mandatory
There doesn't seem to be an option to delete the due date on sales invoices, my client doesn't want this to show on their sales invoices so it would be really useful if this could just be excluded

Xero Central - Advertise Xero Product Ideas on the Support Page
OK so maybe it's obvious to you that Xero Product Ideas is under the 'Community' tab on xero central but can I suggest you mention it under 'Support' too, as that is where most people looking for help start?
I tried searching 'feature request', 'request' etc on support and in the end had to open a case to find out you had a whole Product Ideas thing - I didn't think to look under 'Community' as I wrongly assumed that was just discussion.
I can't be the only person who thought this way, especially when concerned about something that seems like a flaw in xero, so this is just a suggestion which might reduce your customer service workload.OK so maybe it's obvious to you that Xero Product Ideas is under the 'Community' tab on xero central but can I suggest you mention it under 'Support' too, as that is where most people looking for help start?

As mentioned in our last update we’re also looking into making Product Ideas easier to find - we’ll update this idea once we’ve got more to share.

Realised currency gains and losses
Realised currency gains and losses to be allocated to the same split of team codes and activity codes allocated to the original transaction.
At the moment, any transaction which originally contained more than one team code and/or activity code which has realised foreign currency gains/losses has the gains/losses posted with 'multiple categories' for team code and activity code. This can cause issues for internal management reporting where there is a need to then manually assess each element of the gain/loss to see which team or activity it relates to. If the gains/losses were automatically split on the same basis as the original transaction then this manual work around would not be necessary.

Reports - Accounts display in GL account number order on reports
The ability to have accounts display in GL account number order on reports. It boggles the mind that this is not an option already!
88 votesHi everyone, it'd be good to know if there are there any specific reports that you'd find this particularly helpful in?

Aged receivables - Add tax columns
Reports - Aged Receivables: I would like to be able to include the VAT rate/VAT rate name as a column in the aged receivables detailed report to avoid manually checking each invoice in the list
1 voteNot possible with the aged reports, but perhaps the Receivable Invoice Detail report could be just as useful, Luke?
You'll find you can add the tax columns you're after, and there's lots of flexibility to set this report up in the way you need to only view certain transactions (such as those awaiting payment)

AU Payroll - Superannuation Payment: Filter by Week Ending not Due Date
It would be great to be able to filter by the PAYROLL DATE not just the DUE DATE for Superannuation Payments.
This would make it a lot easier when creating smaller super batch payments.
Currently, we pay our 100 staff's super each month (30 days after) and this means I need to manually click next to each individual payment line. I can multi-select all, but that will select every single line for all months.8 votes -
Dashboard - Monthly Profit and Loss Graph
The ability to add a monthly Profit and Loss Graph to the dashboard. This feature was available in my old accounting software (Wave Accounting).

Reconciliation | Bank Rules - show account
While in Dashboard and in a bank account, if I have a bank rule being used and you see it on the right with the vendors name, please add the gl acct in that same box so I can look at each gl account before I hit OK and save. Some vendors are used with different expenses so not seeing the particular gl acct makes me do extra steps by click on details and checking there.

Receivable Invoice Summary Report - Group by Contact group
We recently converted from Quickbooks Desktop and are trying to reproduce a "Sales by Customer" Report that sorts descending by gross invoice amount but groups the contacts within the contact group together. In Xero, I cannot figure out a way to accomplish this.

Credit Note - Allocate to different contact
It would be great if in Xero Blue you could see from the contact profile that they have a credit instead of money owed $0.00.
It would also be helpful if when creating and invoice or before sending the invoice if a pop up appeared advising the client has credit and asking if you would like to use it.
Also having the ability to transfer credit between groups/entities would be helpful. At the moment if someone has a credit note against one entity we need to reverse the credit note and reprocess it under the entity you want to credit.
We find the credit notes hard to follow as staff members do not think to look for an outstanding credit before sending invoices, the client then pays again an the credit remains.

8 votesThanks for your feedback here. Currently when you create a credit note/overpayment the balance is reflected in the contacts record. This shows as a negative value in the list of the customer's invoices.
With new invoicing, if you create an invoice for a contact that has outstanding credit, you'll be asked if you'd like to allocate this credit once the invoice has been approved. You'll also see the available credit and option to apply each time you view an approved invoice.
While it's not possible to allocate credit from one contact to another you could edit an existing credit note to change the contact without having to recreate it from scratch.

Quotes - Add delivery address to quote
Thank you for adding the ability to show both invoicing and delivery addresses on an invoice.
Please may you add the same functionality to the quotes? And as a follow on, if this option is selected at the quote stage, continue this onto the invoice as well when it is created.
Thanks.

New Invoicing: Choose default calculation type for the discount column
The new feature sets the discount column to numeric value by standard. My business uses % and it's incredibly tedious having to type % each time. We can do 10-20 quotes a day with an average of 30 products per quote. So a feature that would allow us to click a button to default to percentage, so when you type a number the % appears (like in old Xero).
105 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the interest his idea has received. Introducing the ability to add a discount amount was highly requested by our community. We recognise for customers that discount by % this means you'll need to enter a % symbol where y ou wouldn't have done so before.
With quite a few items drawing our teams attention at present we want to be upfront that developing a default option for discounts isn't in the pipeline atm. This is something we'll keep reviewing and consider as a future improvement in this space. If there is any change or progress around this I'll let you know on the idea, here.

UK Payroll - Leave Balances Report
Create the report "Leave Balances". This report is available in the AUS version of Xero and is useful when calculating annual leave expense
120 votesHi everyone, we have an exciting opportunity for a few customers to meet some of our Xero team who are working hard to improve payroll for you.
You'd get a chance to tell us your honest experience with using Xero for payroll, as well as get a tour of the Xero London office!
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in and are available on Monday Sept 30, 1:45 - 3:15pm and could come into our Xero London office, add your details through our form.
Spaces are limited so sign up as soon as you can.🙂 If you don't get the chance this round our team may reach out when another opportunity arises.

Bills - Auto update status for future planned payment once paid
Direct Payments - Change of status - Scheduled to Paid
Currently within 'Manage direct payments' the Status doesn't change on future dated payments once they've been paid. ie. Once a scheduled payment is made change the status to PAID.
1 voteThanks for the confirmation, Michael. While it's not something we have direct plans around atm I've slightly updated the title of your idea and we'll keep an eye on the interest for this. If there's any change we'll share this with you, here.

Contacts - Add a Title field for Mr, Mrs, Dr, etc.
Please could you add a Title field into the customers name - my invoices show with just the surname on which is very unprofessional.
ie. Mr Smith on the invoice would look much nicer than just Smith !!! This must be a basic thing to do.?? Please consider this as urgent.4 votes -
Bill Payments - Schedule an email remittance advice for a future bill payment
Can there please be a function to schedule an email remittance advice at the same time as scheduling a future bill payment. I schedule all bill payments throughout the month but have to record which dates I am scheduling different bills to paid in my calendar so I can remember to send a remittance advice on that day. Would be much more time efficient if could schedule a remittance advice to be automatically sent the same day the payment is made / bill is paid.
