  1. I do not like new invoicing, so I want to KEEP to original invoicing for as long as I possibly can Until End of Feb, without having to manually scroll down to the bottom of the page everytime I log in and manually select original invoicing every time.

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate your feedback here. With the retirement of classic invoicing in February, and to help customers get used to the new invoicing experience this default will continue to apply.

    As we continue to improve the new experience this means customers may find updates that help their workflow and adopt the new experience.

    The option to switch back to classic will be available and we understand this is the experience some customers may choose to use up until the retirement date.

  2. It will be great to have meaningful payroll reports. E.g., the leave overview is a blunt tool, as it shows all employees, including those who have left. The same applies to the Auto Enrolment Summary Report - it is a basic on-screen report with no filters, etc. And, yes, includes historical employees. Where there are filters, these overlook some choices which should be present. E.g., wage type, which payroll runs are they- monthly, quarterly, weekly, etc

  3. You can set your company preference to tax exclusive or tax inclusive, but the Xero email bills to Xero function does not follow the company settings and always puts to tax inclusive. Can this be as per the company settings? Eg we would like it to always be tax exclusive.

  6. It would be great to have a feature to Approve, Mark as sent & Email multiple invoices in one click from the Awaiting Approval Tab. We use a program outside of Xero to add invoice details & amounts and then export to Xero for approval and emailing. At present we have to take two steps to achieve the Approve, Mark as sent & Email result.

    In the meantime, it is possible to bulk Approve invoices from the Draft tab. Once this is done, you'll get a message where you can click 'View invoices' and select them all to then Email.

    I would like to propose a feature enhancement to support businesses in Singapore that operate with a base currency other than SGD but are required to comply with IRAS GST submission guidelines.

    Under current IRAS requirements, when issuing invoices in a foreign currency, the GST amount must also be presented in SGD using the prevailing exchange rate at the time of supply. However, in Xero, when the organisation's base currency is not SGD, there is currently no built-in field or conversion box to show the SGD equivalent of the GST…

    Thanks for your votes and comments on this idea for a SGD conversion box for GST compliance. It's clear this is a feature many of you would like to see in Xero, and we really appreciate you sharing your feedback. For now, it is possible to use the Reference field to include the SGD value of the transaction. We’ve reviewed this idea and while we can see the value it would bring, it's not currently on our short-term development roadmap. We'll be keeping an eye out for more interest (votes), as these are a key factor in helping us decide what we build next.


  8. Our business provides lump sum quotes. While we list individual products/services for clarity, we do not show a cost per item (row). As a workaround - we hide the 'quantity' and 'price' columns however we still use the inventory item feature to automatically import the individual product/service. We then include a row at the bottom of the quote with the lump sum, account & tax rate.

    Problem:
    When the 'Quantity' and 'Price' columns are hidden via quote settings, the 'Amount' column incorrectly displays 0.00 when a product is selected from the 'Item' column. If the item is manually typed in…

Auto accrual of Alternative Leave - It would be great if there was a permanent payment item setup in Xero for public holidays worked, and when it is used Xero automatically accrued the alternative leave earned. Or at least make it more obvious that you have to manually adjust the alternative leave accrual in each pay.

  10. When calculating annual leave the ordinary hours changes to include allowances. The loading is then based on this figure. However the allowances are still included as separate lines on the pay template and need to be removed manually. Can this be automated as it needs to be done manually for all employees for every annual leave period?
    I can opt not to include allowances in the calculation, but it makes sense to gross up allowances in the ordinary rate for this purpose.

  11. The current “Add Payment” workflow in invoices is inefficient for keyboard users. While manual entry of payment dates has been improved, the account selection still forces users to use the mouse, which breaks the flow.
    We need a smoother, full keyboard-navigable process when adding a payment to an invoice:
    1.Enter date manually (already possible )
    2.Press Tab to move to the Account field
    3.Type the account number directly
    4. Press Tab or Enter to confirm selection without needing to click the search bar or manually select the account with a mouse

  12. Remove the limitation on posting manual journal entries to bank/cash accounts. I end up spending way too much time on manual workarounds (payroll entries for example, you have to use a "bill" to replace the functionality of a journal entry). It ends up taking way more time working around the limitation than its worth. As a new user of Xero, I'm incredulous. I've worked with multiple accounting software platforms over the years, and never been exposed to such a massive limitation like this. It's almost a dealbreaker, and for some clients it certainly is.     Appreciate why Bank Rules won't help for cash accounts and where you don't have a bank feed coming into the account.

    Being open, this isn't something we have plans for changing in the short-term. We'll leave the idea open for our product team to continue considering how we could improve efficiency in some of the situations you've described. If there are any updates we'll share this with you all here.

  13. For catering companies, or any business with many employees or recurring weekly staff, payroll can become stressful and very time-consuming. This is because all employees need to be unticked before running payroll for only those who actually worked in that specific week. Other companies face the same issue as well. Is there any shortcut to untick all employees at once before preparing payroll for the employees who actually worked in that week?

    Hi everyone, thanks for your votes and comments on this idea. It’s clear that a simple 'Untick All' option when creating a pay run would save you a lot of time. We understand that manually deselecting employees one by one is time consuming, especially for those who have a large number of employees but only need to process a pay run for a few. We will keep this idea updated as we move through any design and development phases.

  14. Retain the This Make manual tax adjustments from the invoice subtotal in New Invoicing. This is a feature that I use as I have to import sales figures from an external program and the VAT figure is different by a small amount But I don't want to have to alter each line on the invoice.

  15. I have moved a clients payroll from Sage to Xero. They have weekly wages and pay holiday in advance. In Sage it would calculate the week wages plus week holiday to allow for the tax free allowance for both weeks. In Xero the tax is higher in the week and the following week when a payrun of zero is processed then a tax refund would show to compensate. Is Xero able to replicate this process in Sage.

  16. I would like to be able to 'print' or 'save' a pdf invoice to a folder of my choosing rather than to the default 'downloads'
    Currently ALL downloaded items from the internet are placed in 'downloads' so I need to move the invoice pdf to my chosen folder. It would be a excellent time saver if I could choose my own folder to save to, and have it use this chosen folder each time.

    I believe it is a software bug to rely on the default settings of the users browser to determine where files are saved to.

  18. It would be wonderful to have the option to use HH:MM format for timesheet entries, instead of only decimal time. Hard to convince employees to do timesheets as it is, but to also ask them to convert two weeks of project works over numerous jobs into decimal format is a big ask! Not many people are used to entering 4.6667 hrs instead of 4hrs 40min. If this is a feature of Xero Practice Manager, can it not be easily made available to the rest of us?

  19. It would be useful if payslips could be scheduled to be posted to Xero Me on a date after the payroll is run. Eg you may run the payroll mid-month but want employees to be able to see their payslips on the date the payment is made at the end of the month.

  20. Separation between Sales Tax/VAT/GST lock date and accounting period lock date.
    It would save a significant amount of time if VAT periods in Xero could have a separate lock date than the accounting period lock date. For instance, an invoice/bank transaction is still outstanding when filing a VAT return, and the VAT return date could be locked so once this outstanding transaction is completed at a later date, it would automatically appear on the next VAT return.
