  2. We need to be able to create a service docket via the Mobile app so that service crew can create and issue a service/delivery docket to customers when they are out doing the service. The packing slip option is not available apparently and, besides, its not the right name for what we do.

  3. It could be useful to export the chart of accounts with current and last financial year balances including zero balances to see which account codes are not in use. Helping to simplify chart of accounts.

Hi team, we don't have any plans for developing a export directly from Chart of Accounts with current and last financial year balances.

However, you may find you can get what you need by running the General Ledger Summary report, and including the option to show Opening and closing balances along with Net movement so you can see accounts that have had movement in the period versus those that haven't.

  4. Can you please create the functionality to send the payslips to both the employees and the employers.

Currently payslips can only be sent to one email address when being sent by Xero. A second email address can't be added to an employee's record for payslips to be sent to.

It would be beneficial to be able to send them via Xero to both the employee and employer.

  5. The Australian version of Xero offers a timesheet summary report. Can we have this in the UK? I need to send a manager details of his employees uploaded timesheet data and there is no report.

  6. Please create a deduction for payroll that can be linked to a bank account. Currently deductions can only be managed via balance sheet and/or by adding reimbursement to enable it to be transferred via EFT. Quickbooks and some other payroll software have this ability and it makes life so much easier and clearer for the emlployee too.

Thanks for your feedback, Andrew and apologies it's taken a little to round back to you here. I see what you're saying and how a merge field would enable an optional for those that do v's don't want this shown 🙂

Being open we don't have any plans atm, so perhaps static text could help with things for now, however we'll get a feel of the interest here and let you know if there's any change planned.

  8. Please enable ordering of Outstanding bills by due date, not alphabetically.

Currently, if one wants to see bills ordered by due date one has to access the "Purchases" tab at the bottom of the screen, then hit "Bills" at the top of the screen. The "Outstanding bills" screen — accessed from the (default) Dashboard screen — displays bills ordered alphabetically and it should order them by due date, or at least make it user-selectable

  9. Xero Me App

When an employee is trying to enter the hours worked it only provides an option to do hours and minutes for the day worked, yet on the desktop it can be done simply as a decimal. For example we do 7.6 hours normal working hours with 0.4 hours going to an RDO bank for every day (except on an RDO).

It just seems really silly to have to adjust it to an equivalent of minutes instead of the hours total, be it whole or decimal for each and every day. Can this be fixed to work exactly…

  10. I work in the payroll team at a business where the majority of our employees are on salaries that include super. This means every July, I have to go into every person's pay template and recalculate what their new salary is (because xero works only on an excluding super basis).

My suggestion: The ability to select whether a salary is including or excluding super per employee. Then every year when the statutory super amount goes up, I won't have to recalculate everyone's new salary for xero. This also means that an employee's payslip has the same salary as what is…

  11. Within the old Xero profit and loss report, there used to be a feature where you could add account transactions to a excel export of the profit and loss. The account transactions for a specific account would appear as a separate tab in the excel profit and loss export. Unfortunately, this feature seems to have been removed with in the new profit and loss. It would be great to see this feature reimplemented, as losing functionality of a report due to an upgrade is a shame.

  12. Simply the ability to create Recurring Purchase Orders (similar to the recurring purchase invoice) to select from so that information is prefilled ready to go for suppliers that we regularly purchase the same items from. Or you can use this as a template and add to or from with any other items as required.

  14. When editing an assigned expense in the project module, there are four options for 'What you'll charge': % markup, pass cost on, custom price and non-chargeable.

I think there should be a fifth option.

In the instance where the expense is to be tracked to an estimated expense (ie field 2 is completed), there should be the possibility of linking to the 'What you'll charge' amount that is already prepopulated into the associated estimated expense.

This would save a lot of time repeating steps.

  15. I need to be able to track all my project expenses, including labor costs, for each project. All the labor data is already in Gusto, my payroll provider. Currently I have to create a report in Gusto then manually enter the data in Xero. I also have to manually maintain two lists of the same projects: one list in Xero, and one list in Gusto. I would like the Projects in Xero to synchronize (two way) with the Projects in Gusto. I would also like to be able to pull (or synch) the project labor cost from Gusto to Xero.

  16. Hi,
I have seen several posts about the Account Number not being searchable/usable within the system or via exports. Contacts' names can vary easily from the different systems used by a company and even between departments: ABCco , ABC Company Ltd, ABC Ltd... - the account number can solve these format issues.
In my case i need to export invoices in csv to be then imported in another system, also the invoice standard template has this field (to be ticked or not) it does not get exported which is rather peculiar; that obliges our finance to maintain a mapping file…

If I understand correctly, you're asking to export the contact account number when exporting invoices from your organisation, Christophe?

If so we don't have any direct plans for developing this at this stage. I'll change the title of your idea here slightly and we can get a sense of the interest from the community of this, here.

  17. In the aged receivable reports (summary and detail) Xero currently assigns any invoice that is due today to the "< 1 Month" column. But an invoice that is due today isn't yet overdue, so it should still be in the "Current" column.

  18. It would be great if Xero dealt with changing balance dates more efficiently. If the balance date changes it should be able to automatically calculate the opening book value, then calculate the depreciation for the new financial year end as per usual. Currently its very manual and time consuming as it reverses all journals posted since you started using Xeros fixed asset feature. Very odd and very frustrating!

Hi all, we wanted to round back here to share for those in the UK that we've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 month and 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date.

To recap for anyone new coming across the idea - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings so you can add start and end dates to different periods. This change impacts multiple areas of Xero.

    • Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.
    • The same applies in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.
    • In Xero Tax,…
  19. Reports - would love to be able to run an account transactions report that is able to be grouped by bank account as well, so we can see how each bank transaction has been coded, GST status etc from each bank account

  20. When delete a file, do not automatically delete it from the linked transaction.

I have had a client delete many of their files from the file library, as she wanted to 'clean it up'. This has in turn deleted them from all the bills/spend money transactions etc and we now have lost access to all the source documents and will need to reenter them.

Even a warning that this would happen, would be better than just wiping everything.
