Cash Coding - Keep the same sort order of uncoded statement lines
Sometimes the order of transactions is different in Uncoded Statement Lines Report to the transactions you are coding in Cash Coding. This means you cannot quickly enter codes from the Lines Report but have to carefully check line by line that it's the same transaction. This is extremely annoying, time consuming and occasionally results in incorrectly coded transaction lines. This has been a problem for years! It's terrible.

Analytics plus | Business Snapshot - Ability to change headings
It would be great to have the ability to edit Headings in Business Snapshot in Analytics-Plus as I work for a charity and having commercial terms (such as profit and loss) are not really helpful in a Charity setting.

If you're just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) you can now set up the Sick leave entitlement date for an employee.
We know people in the idea here are existing payroll users and we can assure you we're working to also develop this for existing customers. There are a few more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. I'll be back to share when there's more news on this and when you can get access to this too. Thanks

Timesheets AU - Allow employee's to add notes in 'Total hours worked' earning rate
Inside Xero Me, when you set your Timesheet type to "Start and end times" you can add notes for working days.
It would be great if we could add notes when we have our Timesheet type set to "Total hours worked".
As an employee, not being able to add a note & select an earning type is inconvenient and can cause confusion which leads to slower timesheet approvals

Account Transactions - Remove Awaiting Payment status from unallocated overpayments
In the customer under account transactions it shows the list of invoices and payments. Against unallocated overpaymentsit shows the status of 'Awaiting Payment' why? we are not awaiting the payment it is shown there.
Awaiting allocation maybe.
Anyway this caused confusion for our sales guy who had goods arrive for a proforma customer, he saw 'Awaiting payment' and thought they had not yet paid so he did not ship the goods, (Accounts were not in to tell him) He did not see the words overpayment or even if he had, he was not accounts so would he understand it? He saw highlighted in bright green 'Awaiting Payment' which anyway, is fundamentally incorrect. I suggest it ought to be changed.

Quote/Invoicing - Job Workflow
BETTER WORKFLOW FOR QUOTES/DELIVERIES/INVOICING:
If we could get the actual flow for how the paperwork per Job can be produced!1.I always start with a QUOTATION: this doesn't always need to be sent to a customer at all as it could be raised by way of a telephone conversation, etc,et. This is logged as a Job manually in a Workbook.
2.If the customer agrees and some do use PO numbers then when we go to accept/confirm, this is when we need the ability to enter Their PO number or some other confirmation that can be proved, this may take the form of an email or even the customers name!
On other systems it is possible to send " order confirmation " for them to check and alter if anything needs adding etc,etc.
3. After approval, then we need to fulfil and deliver the Job, this is logically when a Delivery Note will be required...definately waste of time when raising an Invoice as this is the last stage..
The delivery note can accompany the Job in transit etc.
4. Finally when job is Delivered, we raise an Invoice..At all stages, copies of any emails must remain on the system or in the respective email software, Outlook etc...
This would give a normal workflow to Job flow in my opinion and make Xero more user friendly

API - Assign a Project to an Invoice line via the API
Via the XeroAPI, assign a project to a line item on an invoice.
Looking in both the invoices, and projects APIs I can not see how to do the assigning.
Also, If i assign the project from with in the Xero website, and GET either the invoice or the project, neither response seems to have the assignment.

Contacts | Merge - show contact merged to
When merging customers xero currently completes the merge and then displays the profile that has been moved which typically (for me) contains no customer data. Is it possible to instead display the profile that the customer has been merged to which shows all the existing customer data. Usually I am completing a merge and then having to go in and search for the customer name again.

Reports - When running the GL detail report on a Cash Basis, show the description of invoices & bills
As payments are applied to invoices or bills, you can't see the description detail on a cash basis report (no problem with an accrual detailed general ledger though).
The old general ledger (export function) enabled you to see the description on both accrual & cash.
Seems illogical?!

Fixed Assets - Estimated Depreciation calculator
Ability to enter a date and run an estimated depreciation cost up to that date. Very useful when creating budgets and forecasts.

Xero Accounting app - Automatically assign the next Purchase Order number
When using the Xero app from your phone, to have the Purchase Order numbers auto generate the number.
Currently, we have to look back and previous purchases to find the last used PO....unless you have a great memory. And then, while creating a new purchase order, we have to enter the new number.
Currently, we also need to select as an optional detail, the order number. It would be nice if the app created a new PO number, sequentially from the previous PO issued.
The two attachments show when creating new PO, the first screen. Then I need to add the number, which is frustrating(Second screenshot). Any help on making this more automated would be great.When using the Xero app from your phone, to have the Purchase Order numbers auto generate the number.

VAT201 report | PDF - Links to attached files
VAT201 Report - PDF link to scanned tax invoices. It will be great to have a PDF link to scanned invoices attached to bills and invoices in the transaction by field number report. It will be easier and save time to download and save from this screen, instead of opening the actual bill or invoice in order to download attached documents for upload on SARS efiling for VAT verification/audit.

Bank Reconciliation - Contact match by additional contact details
Bank Reconciliation suggestions. The ability for Xero to identify a name within a customer contact and match it to the name on the bank feed and suggest this as a match. for example John Smith is the contact for ABC pty ltd. when he makes payment he only references John Smith. Xero will recognise John smith is a contact for ABC pty ltd and suggest their invoice in the bank rec.

VAT rounding issue - avoid manual edits on Xero
We have to regularly edit invoices from specifics suppliers to correct pennies in the VAT boxes to ensure these match. Using up valuable and unnecessary time.
We use another software with another company that gets this spot on every time, but considering we pay for Xero we felt it would be helpful to get the VAT extraction down to 100% accuracy.

Xero Expenses - Search Projects by code
Currently when we are submitting expense claims we have to scroll through all our past projects to find the project we need to assign an expense to. We would like a simple search bar placed at the top of this list so we can start typing and the relevant projects will come up as an option.

Xero Me - List earning rates in alphabetical order
We have several earnings rates Eg. Normal Time, Saturday, Sunday, etc and for each earnings type, there are several rates. We have these set up in Xero and they display in Alphabetical order under 'Pay Items'.
However, when staff are completing their timesheets in Xero Me, all of the earnings rates are out of order (in fact they are in no particular order!) which makes it very hard for employees to complete their timesheets correctly. We have over 45 staff and approximately 30 earnings rates, therefore having them in random order in Xero Me causes many timesheet errors.
I am suggesting that XeroMe Earnings Rates are listed in alphabetical order.
