Contacts - Allow multiple addresses for a single contact record
Ability to create and save multiple addresses for a single contact record
Purpose: Allow customers to map customer & supplier details against a single contact record

Hi community, we understand your needs in this feature and want to assure you were taking on board all your feedback.
As many of you accustom to this idea will know, multiple addresses requires a complex solution. It's been something we’ve been moving towards for some time and we’ve done a lot of back end work that will allow us to bring it to you in the future.
We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data, as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero. And that’s exactly what we’ve been working on.
One of the reasons we announced the retirement of classic invoicing is because many of the features being asked for, just can’t be brought into classic invoicing. The old technology has too many technology limitations to enable this. Change to new invoicing is key to being able to enable us to build features like multiple address details. Between now and September our invoicing team are focused on prioritising the features from classic invoicing that need to be brought across to the new version. Multiple addresses is one of the key features they want to work towards but includes many steps. For example, we enabled it in the back end of contacts last year, but now need to be able to build it into our new invoicing solution. We will keep you updated here of any progression.

I'm still waiting for this after it was first requested about 10 years ago (in the old version of the portal).......

Hi Kelly, any update? As other posters point out, Sage and QuickBooks have this basic feature as standard. Regrettably, I'm at the point now where I feel there is no alternative other than to move clients off Xero and back to Sage/QB.

I cannot believe this function is not available. I also regret following the advice of our accountants to switch to Xero. Should have stuck with Quick Books as their Customer 'Jobs' for those repeat customers with different delivery addresses worked perfectly.
Feeling very frustrated right now. -

Hi Kelly, it's great you are working on this.
I'm frustrated by the restriction of address fields to 2 only.
Below is my recent email to your support team.
We have many customers with more than 2 addresses, as below
1) Shop address
2) warehouse address
3) Billing addressHowever we are only able to add 2 addresses to the Contact Details page, which means valuable information is missing from their Contact records.
Can you please add an extra address field into the Contact Details Section?

I agree, I am now creating a pdf of the invoice and manually emailing the invoice, this shouldn't be necessary.

We need the ability to have multiple contacts for and existing Client. The purpose is to be able to send quotes to different project managers working for the same company.

many of our customers are large organizations (like universities). While all the bills for invoices to different departments are paid by the university, we invoice the individual departments separately, and they all have separate contact information (emails, phone, mailing addresses).
In Quickbooks, we used "Jobs" (which are basically folders inside the customer), for each department. Each Job could have its own contact info. Something like that would be welcome. As it is now, we have to have 22 separate customers just for one university, because that's how many departments we work with. Even though the checks for all of those come from the same place.

I've given up waiting. Going with a different provider for me and my 80+ clients books. Too bad such a straight forward and every-day need was not deisgned in the orginal build or updated after they were notified of this significant deficiency.

Came here hoping that there would be a solution to this seemingly simple request. Looks like I am out of luck. How hard can it be to add a drop down box within a customer record to choose different FAO details!

I cannot believe this feature is still not live! We got suckered in by the marketing claims from Xero and our so called advisor, and are actively looking to change. Xero does not care about implementing multiple contacts, as long as people are still paying!!

Agreed with Graham Tottle
Don't Understand why just can't add in this simple yet important feature into invoice template. -

A year on - nearly 500 clients crying out for a solution and still nothing from Xero.
This feature (multiple delivery addresses) already exists in the Purchase Order screen, so it should be relatively straightforward to enable something similar for invoicing (if of course there is a will to do it.....)
Shockingly slow effort from Xero. -

Surely you have this sorted by now? Will need to move platform if it's not soon.
Can't thin why it's not complete considering other platforms have had it as staple for years. -

We deal with several large companies. Invoices will go out to the same company BUT with contact1+address1, contact2+address1 and contact2/address2, etc.
It is unclear to me if the brief description of the 'idea' will achieve what we need.
The irony is MYOB allowed us to do that but we believed all the marketing hype about Xero and changed. We deeply regret that change and either Xero invests in improving the product to service the businesses you advertise to or we will be switching back. -

Are Xero any further forward with this as it appears that this idea was started back in 2012 (11 years ago)?

Dear Xero. You may or may not be aware that Quickbooks Desktop is being discontinued on 30th June this year. Not having a different delivery address or multiple address options will be a deal breaker for many and they will choose other software over Xero.

Is there any update on this please? I have a client wanting to change software but they won't use Xero unless this key feature is in place. They're looking at other software options, so I just wanted to check whether timescales are known before they look to commit elsewhere? Thanks.

As a sub-contractor for construction companies, we are dealing with various people within that company - accounts, estimators, foremans, owners etc. As an quick fix, we are already capturing if the contact is to be included in emails - can this be expanded to display all contacts for the company in the drop down list when preparing an invoice, quote etc?
Ideally, long term fix would be when creating a contact for the same company, we have the functionality to select emails to be included on - sales, bills etc. Then when preparing a quote or invoice all of the contacts for that company (filtered by contact email type) would be displayed in the drop down list and the user can select the appropriate contact(s).
As a workaround - I have to add all contacts to receive emails and then manually delete those that aren't to receive the quote or invoice prior to sending. Using attached example, the contact for persontwo@test.com would also appear for this company ABC...and provide me with the ability to select either or both to receive this invoice.

Any update ????????

Example : I sell goods to "ABC" company but to delivery to their customers all over the place. so I have to create an invoice to bill them and show them where i delivered to. no need to add delivery adddress into contact, just save in that particular invoice
