  1. In other accounting management software, you can allocate WIP to a previously posted invoice. This is a really handy feature which prevents WIP being written off if a job has already been invoiced and no further invoices will be raised.
    It helps with budgeting and KPI's (preventing WIP writeoff).
    There are enough times when it has been needed, e.g. after a job has been completed and invoiced, and new information comes to light requiring a re-work.

  2. The fact that it's so hard to get a rental property schedule to share from one return to the selected second client is very very very very annoying. If there were a button we could press to manually ask it to share across that would save endless saving, closing, opening, closing the whole program, turning off your computer and leaving my desk in frustration.

  3. In the previous version of Xero, uploading invoices was much faster and more efficient. When uploading an invoice image, we could immediately select whether it was a Sales Invoice or a Bill from the same screen. This saved time and simplified the workflow.

    Another important feature in the old system was the visual indicator: once an image was uploaded and recorded as a Sales Invoice or a Bill, there was a clear mark showing that the document had already been categorized. This provided transparency and reduced the risk of duplicate entries.

  4. In the new staff experience, it's only possible to assign staff members the Advisor or None role for a Xero organisation. It would be good to have blue Xero organisation roles available to select so to give my staff the correct permission from within practice tools (HQ/XPM)

    The status of this idea has been updated to Gaining Support. Being able to assign a wider range of user permissions within the practice tools interface could make managing staff roles more flexible and centralised.

    This idea is gaining traction quickly, which shows it’s something many in the community would find valuable.

  5. AU TAX - Default EFT account type to CLIENT

    Under Cover > Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) > Account type there are 3 options - Manual, Client, and Agent.

    It would be helpful if there was a setting in Client Settings > Client Types to default the EFT Account type, so we don't have to manually change this on every return.

  7. Upon accepting a subscription transfer request, it would be great to have an option to "link to existing client record" or "create a new client record". There's currently no option for this and this creates double-up entries in Xero HQ which need to be manually removed, re-linked and archived.

  8. Hi,

    It would be nice if the software could search by a entity's registered business names or previously know entity names and it bring up the current company file.

    We are able to add previous names or business names to the custom fields under a company's profile, but unless you know all the names by memory it can be hard to match up clients when you receive correspondence address to the business name and no ABN is mentioned.

    Currently when this occurs we have to either search ABN lookup or ASIC register and trying to get relevant information we can…

    Hi community, thanks for sharing your interest through this idea. We recently announced the Xero Partner Hub at Xerocon. It encompasses many improvements for our partners to be able to move more efficiently and serve clients. One of the changes that accommodates part of the idea here is that you'll be able to search the Client list by a clients organisation name, or legal/trading name as mentioned on this related idea.

    We appreciate there may be some practices using custom fields for this data and we want to be open that custom fields will not be searchable from the Client list. We have another idea for searching custom fields that you can join and follow for updates. You can find out more about Xero Partner Hub from our website.

  9. Place of birth, like Director ID, is a field that is important for any individual clients who are company officeholders. Rather than having to keep this record in an external software, ideally we would have all the information about a client in one place, and as such, would appreciate a "PLACE OF BIRTH" field somewhere in the client record to facilitate this.

    Hi team, Xero Partner Hub was recently announced at Xerocon and will bring with it a whole heap of great changes we know our partners have been wanting to see. When building this, our team paid great attention to what our partners had been asking for in Product ideas and I'm pleased to share that within the new client experiences there will be a new field for Place of Birth on a Clients record. 😊 We appreciate your support through the product idea forums and will keep you updated as this rolls out.   10. When doing the year end processes, an accountant should be able to unlock the period for their log in only ie 'unlock for me only' as if the client or others have the same user access, they can change the accounts while we are working.

  11. Can Xero please upgrade this block on the Bank Accounts / Reconcile to show more details in the block before needing to click on “More Details”. Especially for most banks have the ACB CREDIT PAYMENT before having the reference/description on statement.
    This will be very helpful.

  12. NZ Tax Audit Check of Overseas Income Jurisdiction Codes needs corrected to identify invalid country code UK and bring up a red error message. The correct code for the United Kingdom is GB not UK, the audit check should pick this up at the audit check stage which it currently does not. Thus when we go to file the return the return goes in to error as the jurisdiction code is invalid.

  14. Currently hubdoc suggests that a document is a Credit Note and to check before proceeding. Can this be the same when a document has Statement written on it. I find that statements are often processed as invoices causing duplicate payments within Xero

    Hi Lucy, thanks for sharing this specific feedback about our AU Tax module. We know that small adjustments to default settings can often make a big difference in streamlining a workflow.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to change the default option to 'Yes' for transferring capital gains to the tax return on the Managed Fund Schedule. Your idea is now ready to gain support and feedback from other tax preparers in the community.

    Along with votes, others can now comment to share if this default setting would better match their own process and improve efficiency when preparing returns.

  16. Can you create an option to return to the Purchases Overview list page, after having created a Transaction: Batch Payment?. It is laborious to press the back button several times in order to get back to the list of bills to be paid.

We would just like to be able to see the Partner name on the Xero Practice Manager (XPM) client screen alongside the client name, phone number and address instead of having to go into each client to get this information. Especially useful for new admin staff who need to allocate various correspondence between multiple Partners.

  18. Change the save button at the bottom of the screen in XPM to Save and Close so you dont need to scroll back up to the top of the page each time when editing client details.

  20. Be able to export list of archived clients, especially if they still have xero subscription that was missed to cancel. So that these can be easily reviewed.

    We are paying Xero for no reason at all.

    Also the ability to bulk change those archived clients eg cancel subscriptions

    Perhaps when clients are archived there should be something to flag to remember to do something with the subscription eg cancel or transfer.
