Xero Tax (NZ & AU) - Print multiple returns at once
Being about to print multiple Tax Returns by selecting the box in Returns and having a print options, it would be amazing if you could also select to redact Tax file numbers or choose to print them.
At the moment I need to print 17 today, I have to go into each individual client and select the tax return, select to print etc. It would save a lot of time being able to print multiples9 votes -
Practice Manager - Automatic time tracking by client
Xero to automatically log the time you spend in each client and summarise monthly/ average 12 monthly.
No stop/start. 10 minute auto logout.
Advantages: no additional work for the user

Practice Manager - Option to exclude 'completed' from job list
Removal of 'completed' jobs from the job list when preparing an invoice in XPM.
Sometimes we invoice a parent client with multiple entities jobs appearing and this can be very hard to navigate when looking for current jobs to invoice - even if the status is marked to be invoiced. It would be more efficient if completed jobs just didn't appear in the list.

Practice Manager - Draft Invoice Review
Would like the ability to see Write-ons / Write-offs on the Invoices dashboard for Draft invoices to allow easier review of drafts.
Alternatively some form of reporting that takes draft invoices into account vs billable time to see 'draft write-ons/offs'.

XPM - Bulk delete jobs
I learned the hard way after bulk importing 1,700 jobs on the wrong template that you could not delete those imported jobs in bulk. I spent 4 hours individually opening each job from a report and deleting.
It would be great to use job manager to be able to select jobs (assuming they haven't got any time, costs or invoices associated with them) and delete.

User Roles - Access to timesheets for managers in XPM
We need to improve permissions on XPM, I want to provide permission to my managers to their staff members timesheets. The only way I can do this is to give them access is by giving them Access Financial data which really is too high for what we require.

Practice manager - Add start and finish times in timesheets
Being able to complete timesheet using start and finish times as an option rather than just the option of filling out in hours/minutes spent on a job. This assists in tracking time throughout the day

Practice Manager - Bulk update ITR due dates within tax return
If we request the income tax client report through Xero, the due dates update in the client detail level, but not in the tax return if they have already been created.
Being able to bulk update the due dates within the tax return, especially when deferrals are requested and successful with the ATO would be helpful as manually updating them all can be time consuming.8 votes -

Practice Manager - Ability to archive deregistered clients in group profiles
We have an abundance of deregistered clients/entities in our client list. We would like the option of archiving these clients, but if they are still linked through the group, then they still show up under the group profile - but maybe in a separate section, so the group profile could list current clients and archived clients.
Ideally, we want to archive them because they aren't an existing client anymore, however, we would still like them to be visible/searchable with the client data, so we can see their historical entities and for other reasons.

Practice Manager | Group Profile - Select & view group information
Would love to see features to the group profile. Even if they were custom tabs from the business settings (so it applies to all groups). Some ideas are:
Group information - could be a list of the clients and their partner, manager, class, etc (would be great if each firm could select what client details they want to include from their business settings).
Client Fees - could use this section to add services, fees and notes for each client, and then have this total per service, client and group. This way you can update on the go and see the…

XPM - Place of Birth field
Place of birth, like Director ID, is a field that is important for any individual clients who are company officeholders. Rather than having to keep this record in an external software, ideally we would have all the information about a client in one place, and as such, would appreciate a "PLACE OF BIRTH" field somewhere in the client record to facilitate this.

XPM - Sync unique account number from Xero to XPM.
Account number to be synced to XPM from Xero. This unique account number/code is very useful and would be great to be automatically synced. Further, if, just like in Xero, it is a set field in XPM that notifies you when you are duplicating a code that has already been used for another client.

Xero Practice Manager (XPM) Remove yourself from a practice in
It would be ideal to have the ability to remove yourself from a practice in XPM. For example, if you are consulting to a firm and they aren't maintaining their staff list and removing access promptly when the contract is complete, you would be able to have more control over the security of a file and keeping your list of practices clean by being able to remove yourself from their practice.

XPM - Replace Radio Buttons with Check Boxes
When preparing an invoice, it would be great if you could replace the radio buttons with check boxes within tasks and also be able to bulk update the Billable status on timesheet entries within a task to Yes, No or Future.
If you have a task with a lot of timesheet entries, and you only want to bill a few of them, it's very time consuming to have to select one by one to change the Billable status to Future.7 votes -

It would be great is XPM could have the ability to have multiple timers open / useable at once, so I can stop, start and resume between tasks as you pick up / put down. This was a great feature of MYOB AE.

XPM - Timesheets Quick Keyboard shortcuts
Per the attached screenshots, it would significantly increase efficiency to be able to use quick keyboard shortcuts when entering timesheets. Specifically the + and SAVE buttons, as almost everything else can be entered using the keyboard alone.

Automatically archive Tax returns
It would be good if XPM automatically archived tax returns once assessed or maybe at a certain date, for example all 2022 tax returns archived when we are doing the 2023 year

US 1099 - Identify Checks and Debit Card activity on bank accounts
Debit card transactions are not needed to be reported on 1099s. When using bank feeds in checking accounts it does not distinguish debit card vs check. I suggest there be a option to identify debit card vs checks so the debit card activity is not automatically added the the 1099 reporting.
