  1. This would be so beneficial as it would allow us to use inventory fixed fee pricing like in Xero but still analyse staff time cost against the fixed fee price

  3. It would save so much time if we could prefill year into the job name when we create a new job, and client name into the description so that when the description prefills into the invoice it specifies the entity.

  4. Change reply to email address:
    Any user can send tax letters, but the reply to email address can be set as one specific email (much like in blue xero)

    For example:
    staff1@accountingfirm.co.nz sends provisional tax reminders to clients, but when clients receive the tax reminder email, the reply to address is admin@accountingfirm.co.nz

    This same feature is already available in Blue Xero when sending invoices

  5. Where $nil value invoices are pushed to our "Xero Export Failed" list, it would be great to be able to select all $nil balance invoices in the "Xero Export Failed" list, and "Write Off Balance" in bulk. Currently we need to go into each invoice, one at a time, and select "Write Off Balance"

  6. Calculated Opening Balance on partner accounts (bold line), plus OB for conversion year showing on a separate line. It would be practical to merge this two, but the calculated OB line can't be merged into a group. Instead opening balances prior conversion year must be entered in an unbalanced journal - looked up manual - ok, but just unusual and I have spent too much time on contacting Xero Support and finding this solution.
    Merging the two OB lines would be a much quicker way.

  7. Xero Tax currently allows adding notes only on the cover page (character limit of 140) and on D1 (motor vehicle expense).

    It would be great if we could add explanatory notes (and simple calculations) on each of the line items if need be. I moved from Sage Handisoft to Xero and can't comprehend why such a useful and simple feature is not there in Xero. It would reduce the burden of creating additional workpapers for simple returns and will be handy even for the complex ones.

  9. We use client codes for all our clients. There is an option to input this into the client record, but it would be good to be able to see that on the screen and sort by it, rather than just alphabetical list of clients.

  11. We are currently reviewing our staff access, and have realised that it is currently a labourious process when a staff member only temporarily needs access to a ledger e.g. technical help, auditor access, to cover sick/holiday leave.

    It would be great to be able to set a time limit for access when staff or users when they are added e.g. 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, or on a given date. This would save practice managers having to keep note of when users needed to be removed and having to do that all manually.

  12. In XPM Report Builder, for "Monthly Summary" report types, there needs to be an option added for 12 months of data to report.

    This would allow a full financial year's worth of data to be summarised monthly where required.

  15. Ability to edit review point, internal query and client query responses.

    Currently once you click reply to an Internal Query or review point or client query in workpapers there is no option to edit. This is frustrating if you make a spelling error or accidentally respond to the wrong query. It would be great to have the ability to be able to edit these responses if necessary.

  16. Currently we have to create GST/Tax returns one at a time for our entire list. It would be great if we can create gst returns on the gst jobs in one go so we don't miss any on the outstanding report.

  17. Have come across Xero "feature" of auto filling the account code on a bill, however the code Xero put in had nothing to do with the expense and never has been. The ability to switch this feature off so clients have to actually look for the correct code would be beneficial.

    Xero will use your defaults accounts for a supplier or the inventory item to assign a pre-selected account code to the bill you've created. You can read a bit more about that here.


    Just to clarify, is this the feature you're referring to? If so, it's possible to disable this by not entering in defaults for the items or contacts in question 😊

  19. Thanks to the team for releasing the ability to link one contact to multiple clients! While appreciated, it falls a tad short since only the "Position" is set per client. If possible, it would be great if the Salutation, Addressee, Phone, Mobile, Email Address, and Custom Fields, could also be set on a per client basis. This would allow for flexibility where the one contact has different contact details per client.

    One example is a bookkeeper that works for 5 clients of ours. For two of those clients, they use hey@awesomebookkeeping.com. For the other three, they use accounts@client1.com,…

  20. There should be the option to show the tax estimate (i.e.: calculation page) for companies on the front page of the tax return instead of being buried within the body of the report.

    For a lot of clients the first page is what they are really interested in (calculation of tax payble/refundable).

    Having the flexibility of being able to change page ordering within Xero Tax without having to do it manually would be helpful.
