unique emails
Allow clients to pick their own Unique Email for suppliers to email their invoices to Xero, I think the generated email looks tacky and unprofessional.
1 voteHi Michelle, I notice that you've placed your idea in the Hubdoc forum. Just wanted to check are you referring to the unique organisation email for the ability to email bills to an organisation?

tax
Have Xero collect and pay the tax directly to the IRD on clients behalf. A little bit like Hnry, but do it better. Would be great for small business/contractors etc. IRD have really struggled to collect tax/gst in specific industries like construction and hospo

Xero files - option to view files as a group, reducing the need to open individually
New Xero files - add option to return to the old way of viewing bills that had been uploaded?
I often log in to 80-100 bills that have been uploaded into files for me to add to a clients xero. Until the recent changes you could click on the oldest one and then scroll through each one viewing them full screen whilst working on another screen to add the information to a bill in xero. Now when you click on the file it opens in a much smaller box on the far side of the screen and you can't scroll…
1 voteThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. While that exact group view isn't available in the new design, we have a helpful trick: we recommend you try expanding the side view of the file so it fills up most of your screen. When you do that, you'll be able to quickly jump between files just by hitting the Tab and Enter keys on your keyboard. If you run into any trouble with this or need more help, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team :)

AU Payroll - Reports downloaded from posted pay runs to include pay period rather than payment date
Every time I process a payroll (hundreds every year), I produce the Payroll reports to send to the client.
The Payroll Activity Details Report AND THE Payroll Employee Summary shows the INCORRECT details in the heading. For example The report reads: "For the period 17 November 2025 to 17 November 2025". THIS IS NOT CORRECT, and it wastes HOURS having to change it every single time.
The Report is for the Processed Pay Period just completed!!!
Can we have this corrected to the pay period when this report is directly created from a payroll run??? the date for Example SHOULD…1 voteThanks for sharing your idea about including the pay period in payroll reports downloaded from posted pay runs. Agree, it makes sense for the pay period to be shown rather than the payment date ("For the period 17 November 2025 to 17 November 2025").

Repeating Customer Prepayments
The ability to set up a repeating customer prepayment. We have customers who pay on account every month. We then create an invoice at the end of a billing period (Quarterly, annually etc) and then use their prepayments against the invoice. It would be useful to automate the prepayment creation so that we can reconcile the payment made by the customer to their prepayment. Creating the multiple prepayment forms every single month for all of our clients is tedious.
2 votesHi Reuben, thanks for the detail in your idea here - It sounds like you're currently manually creating the prepayment in Xero and then manually reconciling this once it's received in your bank account?
Though not a repeat prepayment feature like you're asking however you could create the transaction right when you're reconciling - From the Create option in the Reconcile screen click Add details which will open the modal. Here you can click the drop down on the Received as and change this from Direct Payment to Prepayment.
Totally get this doesn't automate the creation of the transaction completely, however could help save a few steps each month. LMK if this helps 🙂

New Invoicing -Spell check on invoices
Spell check on sales invoices. I have multiple clients using Xero to raise their sales invoices and quotes, and spelling isn't their strong point. Having spell check enable within sales invoices and quotes will be extremely valuable for them.
1 voteThank you for your suggestion to add a spell check feature to Xero’s invoicing. We appreciate your feedback. As you know at this time, there isn’t a built-in spell check option available within Xero invoices. However, many users find that browser-based spell check tools or third-party extensions can help with proofreading invoice content.
We encourage you to continue sharing your ideas and feedback, as this helps us understand what features are most important to our community. For transparency there are no immediate plans for this feature, please know that your input is valued and will be considered as we continue to improve Xero.

Business Activity Statement - Improve process of recording 100% GST on Imports
AU 100% GST on Imports - this function needs to be improved. It's 2025 and we are still required to do manual adjustments for GST on imports to get the correct result. It shouldn't be this difficult!
1 voteHi Ryu, thanks for sharing this idea here. Appreciate that you're wanting to see improvements in the way 100% GST on import is recorded in Xero. We've moved this idea to Gaining Support and now it's up to the community to get behind it. In the meantime, we'll monitor this idea for more traction.

Reporting - Display Custom Report Names in Report Packs
When I create a new Report Pack, I can name it. When I add a custom report, that report shows as the Xero Standard Report Name, not as my Custom Report Name. Please can the Custom Report Name be shown, rather than the Xero Standard Report Name. If I add two different Custom Reports (both based on the Xero Standard Report), I don't know which is which.
1 voteThanks for highlighting the value of this idea, John.
We’ll see how many others in the community would find it helpful as well.

Holding Account
Would it be possible for Holding accounts to be set up as 'Bank' rather than 'Current Asset'. A number of my clients use holding accounts for Petty cash, cash drawer, Eftpos, Eway etc. I need to reconcile these accounts monthly and it takes me three tomes as long as it used to do in MYOB. I am reluctant to move any more of my clients to Xero while this is the situation. As it seems counter productive to move to a software that takes more time to reconcile. I know there is a work around with the transaction report exported…

Cash coding overpayments to suppliers and customers
Allow bulk cash coding as an overpayment to a supplier so they appear on the aged payables list instead of having to do them individually through find & match.

Depreciation Schedule - Adjustable Columns
Be able to expand or reduce the size of a column in the depreciation schedule.
We are finding when we add extra columns it is making the depreciation method column really large and you cant adjust it. Making the page stretched across longer that it needs to be.See attachment as an example.
2 votesAfter some testing, we discovered that downloading the file in Excel or Google Sheets format and then saving it as a PDF reduces the column size. While this may not be ideal, it can serve as a temporary workaround.

Bank reconciliation - Ability to enter dates directly in formats other than dd mmm yyyy
Across Xero it would be very useful (and intuitive) to be able to type dates in formats other than dd mmm yyyy (for example dd/mm/yyyy, ddmmyyyy, etc). The dd mmm yyyy isn't the usual way to enter and clients have commented that it's irritating that they can't type the date in (they use the calendar instead) because it didn't occur to them to try this format, and even when you are aware the habit when typing dates into these boxes is to use one of the more common formats so it can lead to errors
4 votesHi Jonathan! Thanks for sharing this great suggestion about allowing more flexible date formats in Xero. We can see how being able to type a date in different formats (like dd/mm/yyyy) would be a much quicker and more intuitive experience for many, and acknowledge that this functionality is available within other areas of Xero.
We've also added the supporters of this idea to these two similar ideas; New invoicing and Fixed Assets.🙂

Xero Central - Adding a Video on Demonstration
Could it be possible to create a video to explain about the particular features of the Xero function in their respective page? I am trying to better understand visually on how to navigate and use a particular feature within Xero.
If not at the very least, link me back to the lesson where I can get on the feature in the Xero Advisor course? It would be helpful for me to revisit the topic.
2 votesHi Marc, thanks for your engagement and for this excellent suggestion on improving our Xero Central resources.
We've reviewed your idea about making our support content more visual by adding demonstration videos or linking back to specific lessons from our help articles. We agree that for many people, seeing a feature in action is incredibly helpful.
Your suggestion is now open to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how more visual content like videos could improve their learning experience and help them better understand Xero's features.

A report that includes price, quantity and account fields for both customer invoice and receive money transactions
A report that includes price, quantity and account fields for both customer invoice and receive money transactions. Perhaps add price and quantity fields to the account transactions report
1 voteWe understand that a single report for all invoices and receive money transactions, including key details like Quantity and Unit Price, would be a big help 🤔. We know it can be time-consuming to switch between different reports to get a full view of a contact’s activity. While this specific report isn't on our immediate development roadmap, we're always looking to improve Xero's reporting. For now, you can use the Contact Transactions Summary report for a quick overview or combine exported data from multiple reports into a spreadsheet. We'll keep monitoring this idea and use your votes and comments to help prioritise our future work.

Multicurrency - Cheque/Check Log
We need the ability to issue a cheque and track cheque numbers in currency that is not the home currency. Example CAD is home currency. We have a USD bank account and issue cheques on that USD account but we are unable to confirm the cheques have been issued in sequence as there is no log. We are also unable to issue a cheque from that account.

Organisations - Indication/Warning/Flag when changing organisation
It is too easy currently to click back/undo one too many times and end up inadvertently posting into a different organisation from the one you were working on.
I was showing a colleague how to do something in the Demo company, but I clicked back too many times and ended up making my dummy postings into a client's organisation instead.
For accountants and bookkeepers who have multiple clients and multiple transactions to post, this could create a lot of unnecessary work that can easily be avoided by some kind of indication that you are changing organisation.4 votesHi team, we understand wanting more of an indicator when you're entering data in the demo org, and with our new navigation experience you'll now have a banner at the top of the screen to let you know that you're in the demo company to avoid wasting time of data entry that should be in your actual org.
We want to be upfront that this banner is only applicable for the demo company, so not exactly what is being asked in this idea but hope it goes some way to helping in scenarios like has been shared here.🙏

My Xero
It would be nice if My Xero could allow sorting by the number of unreconciled transactions. Being able to sort by the number of comments would be nice too
3 votesHi Christine, just making sure I understand what you'd like to see here. Would this be to sort all organisations you have access to from your My Xero page ordered by the # of unreconciled items ?

Customer - Contact Details - Invoices history

More than 4 classes
I work for an organisation that manages multi-millions in the public sector, and everyone in the team wants to move to Xero; unfortunately, with the nature of our finances, we need many cost-centres to sort the finances relating to each program. If Xero had the option of more than 4 cost-centres, say up to 50, then we would move to Xero in a heartbeat.
At present we use Reckon as it allows for unlimited cost-centres, as this is the main feature we absolutely need for running our finances. We also use Xero for payroll but then do a manual journal…
1 voteHi Sydnee, when you say cost centres would you be referring to the Tracking feature in Xero?
Might be worth having a play in the demo company, but it sounds like you could possibly use one Tracking Category for Cost Centres, and list each of your cost centres as a separate Tracking option. You can have up to 100 options within a single Tracking category. See more on the set up in Xero central.
