XPM- Option to tick off multiple tasks
If we have the functionality of creating multiple tasks then it will be a good idea to have functionality of ticking off multiple tasks also. As this will save in energy and time.

Practice Manager - Auto select 'ATOmate Fee For Service' when 'Deduct fee from refund' is checked
It would be great if you can automate the ticking in of this 'ATOmate Fee For Service' (under client details) whenever 'Deduct fee from refund' is selected on the tax return currently in process. And if in the next financial year's tax return it is no longer fee from refund, 'ATOmate Fee For Service' will automatically be unticked.

Xero HQ | Clients - Ratio of transactions allocated to bank rule
In the list of client files, an indicator or percentage to show the portion of bank transactions allocated by bank rules to identify client files which can be optimised and more efficient by automation and bank rules.
If client files can then be sort by the indicator to then extract a list for action.
In xero files, for each transaction recorded by a rule could there be an indicator (ie "rule applied") to differentiate transactions manually recorded and recorded via a bank rule.

UK | Company Tax - Access lost to all Xero tax reports if Xero sub cancelled
We've just found out to our horror that we lose access to ALL Xero historic accounts and tax filings prepared and submitted through Xero Tax for a client if the Xero sub is cancelled.
Apparently this is because Xero needs to maintain access to the live data even for filed returns. Therefore, there has to be a process where ALL accounts and tax comps must be downloaded and stored elsewhere each year. We think that's crazy and that all filed returns should be stored in Xero Tax as PDFs. If nothing else, there should be a flag warning us! This…11 votesHi everyone, appreciate raising this with us.
Our product team has confirmed that these records are not deleted when an organisation is deleted, but they're moved into a hidden state. We're looking into how we can improve the storing of these within Xero HQ in future. If you need help with this in the meantime please contact our Xero support team via Xero Central.

XPM - Job Manager design
Keep the Xero Classic Look everyone preferred.
The design of the Job Manager page is sadly reminiscent of an excel spreadsheet.
One of the enjoyments of the Xero software compared to its competitors are the fresh, clean pages that make it inviting to use. The Job Manager board is missing the 'attractiveness' that has been part of Xero's signature branding.
Specifically black text, flat checkboxes, grey cell borders and grey column headers makes it feel like an outdated 1990s program. With more Xero pages in Xero Blue also moving in this design direction, I am hearing similar comments from my…

AU Tax - Ability to share Rental Property Schedules
The fact that it's so hard to get a rental property schedule to share from one return to the selected second client is very very very very annoying. If there were a button we could press to manually ask it to share across that would save endless saving, closing, opening, closing the whole program, turning off your computer and leaving my desk in frustration.

XPM | AU Payroll - Notifications when a pay run is paid
It would be really helpful to receive notifications when a client pays their payrun.
Especially for our large PAYG Withholding clients, where we send them an email of the tax withholding payable. As large PAYG Withholders only have a roughly a week to pay, an email notification would be a timer saver. As we wouldn't need to log in to check that the pay run has been paid.

Multicurrency for Cashbook No GST
I have recently subscribed to Sharesight for my Super Fund share portfolio as it integrates with Xero. Sharesight doesn't handle multicurrency bank accounts well but it does sync bank statements from Xero so by using multicurrency bank accounts in Xero and them syncing them to Sharesight the value is added to the portfolio valuation and the historical cost is handled correctly in Xero. Sharesight offers Xero Cashbook plans to their subscribers but I am sure there would be more subscribing if they could have multicurrency as I have seen a lot of subscribers complaining about not been able to use…

AU Tax | Report Builder - More specific fields
We would like to see more custom report options that reflect the returns so we can interrogate and pull information out of Xero tax in relation to clients
In particular, get a list of every client that has a number in the Tax Return Labels – Interest Expense or Interest Expense overseas or Royalty Expenses Overseas - See attach screenshots

XPM | Recurring jobs - Label place holders
It would really make my life easier if you could please allow the [Month] [Year] option to label on the task for recurring jobs. This would allow us to see in blue Xero the label of the task namely month and year when invoicing our clients. This would be really helpful when identify numerous jobs and tasks for the same client as the job name does not appear on the invoice in blue Xero. Also, with using the [Month] feature, it would roll over in the next recurring job on its own.

Reporting - Consistency in the default naming convention for dates
I know this is not critical for the reporting accuracy of Xero within, but it would be a great help to those who extract many times a report from Xero and have multiple clients handling. I hope Xero Support can find ways to be consistent in their naming convention by default. And not overriding names thru Report layouts. Thanks!
6 votesAppreciate sharing your thoughts on date conventions used across reports in Xero, Danmark. While there's standardisation across the way dates are shown across Xero, there can be slight differences based on region, as well as the period being reflected.
For example all regions excepting US will show date format as Date Month Year, where-as US will be formatted as Month Day, Year.
When Xero reports for a general period like an entire month or year this is abbreviated to the shortest date format that represents that period e.g June 2025 or 2025 respectively, however when running a report for a singular 'as at' date the entire date is shown such as 13 June 2025.
While I appreciate it doesn't mean a change to the formatting that you're requesting here, hopefully this sheds light on where date formatting may differ and gives more assurance that there's a structured approach to how…

Practice Manager - Sorting Draft Invoices by Job Type
Sorting Draft Invoices by Job Type
Every quarter we invoice a large amount of standard disbursement costs these all come from a particular job type.
It would be great if we could sort by job type so we could bulk approve these invoices. Currently it looks to sort by job number. This means when I 'select all' I have to manually go through and untick the draft invoices that have another job type. I have tried to set a filter to only show text with 'Quarterly' which shows in the job type but this produces no results.
Does anyone have…3 votes -

Xero HQ Insights - P&L Data & Selection options
Hi,
For the Profit and Loss data (Revenue/ Expense/ Net Profit), should be an option to select last month as currently it's bringing up mid month data and comparing with full month information (ie. running the report 20th October and comparing with either full month Sep 2024 or full month October 2024. A lot of clients invoice end of month or after month end so adds little comparison value.
For Cash Balances, ability to select which bank accounts are displayed might be worth considering. Currently showing loans, which skews the information into negative.
AR & AP, ability to show %…

Practice Manager - Use Collaboration Manager to automatically add Notes to clients
It would be great if we could use Collaboration Manager to assign emails directly to the Client, rather than a Job or a Quote. These emails would then be automatically stored under the Notes tab in the Clients screen.

Xero Tax - For the U.S.
In the U.S. Xero is one of the top accounting software companies. Its biggest competitor Quickbooks has several Intuit tax software products that integrate with each other. I would like to Xero launch Xero Tax in the near future as Intuit products aren’t as innovative, robust and user friendly. Glad to see this is available in other markets but would love to see it roll out here in the states

UK Tax - File historic tax returns through Xero
It would be useful to be able to file historic tax returns prior to the dates shown in Xero. I have a client who submitted his own accounts but has never submitted his own tax returns so we need to file 4 returns for him but we are only able to go back 2 years.
5 votesHi Natalia, just to make sure I'm sharing this back with the right team internally. Where abouts is your client based. Our Tax products for each region are developed separately for their own needs and regulations so this information will make sure I get it back to the right team to consider.

Hubdoc - Client approval to automatically pull loan statements, mortgage statements and bank balances
There are three documents that we are often chasing clients for as accountants in order to do accounts or self assessments -
- Loan statements which show the year-end balances and the interest amounts (for example on the bounce-back loans).
- Bank statements which show the year-end balance to check the accounting software pulled in all the data correctly.
- Mortgage Interest statements (for self-employed clients who work from home or landlords on their self-assessments).We do ask the clients for these, but it's often difficult and very time-consuming for the client to get hold of (and sometimes they just…
