Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.

  2. Stop dating in 1900s.
    Today I typed in the date 5/3/25. Click on the little calendar that appears, the month says March 25. Click on 5 March 25.

    Hubdoc interprets this as the year 1925.

    I dont think there are many people entering receipts from 100 years ago.
    Please remove those last century calendars from Hubdoc.

    While you fix that, since the Hubdoc file is linked to a Xero file can you also stop hubdoc processing into a closed year. It warns you AFTER it's been sent to Xero, then doesn't let you correct it because of the status -…

    It's best if an idea is specific to one feature request so that others know what they're voting for and to help product better understand the interest for a feature.

    We have a separate idea around the lock dates that I've just added your vote for across here. We don't have any plans for this but if any are made I'll let you know, there.

  3. Reviewing VAT Returns

    I don't know if it is just me, but when I am reviewing VAT returns and looking at the transactions, as I scroll down the screen I can lose track of what VAT rate I am looking at if there are lots of transactions.

    Would it be possible to add a column or a header that states the VAT rate on the transaction schedule that remains visible on the screen as you scroll?

    Scrolling up and down to check or locate specific VAT Rates wastes a lot of time.

  4. Across Xero it would be very useful (and intuitive) to be able to type dates in formats other than dd mmm yyyy (for example dd/mm/yyyy, ddmmyyyy, etc). The dd mmm yyyy isn't the usual way to enter and clients have commented that it's irritating that they can't type the date in (they use the calendar instead) because it didn't occur to them to try this format, and even when you are aware the habit when typing dates into these boxes is to use one of the more common formats so it can lead to errors

    Hi Jonathan, is there a specific feature within Xero that your clients have commented about this in? In many places throughout Xero they should find entry of a date using dd/mm/yyyy or dd-mm-yyyy is accepted. We also have shortcuts mentioned in Xero Central that you could share with your clients to help them understand other keyboard actions that can help with their data entry.

  6. Allowing for exported excel reports to have an option to open hyperlinks. For example, being able to open the ledger of the expenses of a line item from the Profit and Loss statement, or being able to open the Aged Details of a customer by clicking on the link of the Aged Summary excel report, or being able to open the invoice by clicking on the link in the excel of the Aged Details reports.   7. For UK add Audit Exempt Clause to Balance Sheet to allow filing with Co House or ability to add free text - is common requirement for small entities linked to a Group. Main reason why practice accountants can not use Xero more plus a Group accounts format would be great

  8. Would it be possible to be able to have the account codes on the pdf manual journal report pleasse. Right now its annoying not to know which codes were used without having to print the journal and then review the chart of accounts to write down the codes manually by hand. The only alternative is to use workpaer journal templates which means doing the journals twice.

  9. Be able to export list of archived clients, especially if they still have xero subscription that was missed to cancel. So that these can be easily reviewed.

    We are paying Xero for no reason at all.

    Also the ability to bulk change those archived clients eg cancel subscriptions

    Perhaps when clients are archived there should be something to flag to remember to do something with the subscription eg cancel or transfer.

  10. Add contact group changes to History and Notes report. The History and Notes report should reflect an audit log, which would include any and all changes. It is difficult to discern issues or why something happened when not everything is available in the report.

  11. There is a difference in functionality between D5 and D8 in the AU individual tax return form. When deductions are entered in D5, the default deductible percentage is 100%, and whatever percentage is entered here (eg 40% phone) is rolled over when the tax return rolls over to the next year.

    In D8, the default deductible percentage is 0% (inconsistent with D5, easy to miss when quickly completing a tax return, requires you to manually type '100%' every line item - why would you enter a 0% deduction?) and the manually entered percentage does not roll over to the next…

  12. unable to submit VAT returns if a member of more than one practice. Also, if Xero moving to have fully integrated XPM and HQ and there is no work around to be on 2 x XPMs without being a member of 2x practices. this is a big issue - especially where firms acquire other firms etc. You MUST hold this process until Xero can submit MTD VAT returns from users who are members of multiple practices.

  13. There are currently no rental worksheets for companies (as the ATO do not accept rentals on a CTR in PLS) in Xero Tax. These schedules are available in other software providers ie MYOB.

    As clients have rentals in company format, it would be useful to at least have worksheets for each property to keep income and expenditure (and depreciation).

    This would assist clients as they would have more detailed information for each property as well as a better audit trail. Also a time saving in data entry for the tax return.

    The worksheet could simply then update the relevant income…

  15. Submission takes ages
    I switched from lodgeit to Xero tax. While returns (BAS, ITR, CTR etc) were submitted in lodgeit, it would instantly reflect in the ATO portal. However, with Xero Tax, it takes ages to update ATO portal. This is definitely some flaws within the Xero eco-system. I know, Xero will flush this and direct towards the ATO, but Xero, you know the reality better.

  16. It is too easy currently to click back/undo one too many times and end up inadvertently posting into a different organisation from the one you were working on.

    I was showing a colleague how to do something in the Demo company, but I clicked back too many times and ended up making my dummy postings into a client's organisation instead.

    For accountants and bookkeepers who have multiple clients and multiple transactions to post, this could create a lot of unnecessary work that can easily be avoided by some kind of indication that you are changing organisation.

  17. IRD are asking us for details of our rental expenses - I would like the Residential and Commercial Rental schedules to accompany the tax return when filing with IRD - I can not imagine anyone wanting to do this manually.

  19. In the Fixed Assets module, it would be helpful to have the option to link to the ATO's Effective Life tables when adding a new asset. This feature would allow users to search for the Effective Life of an asset. It should also be possible to overwrite this value, allowing you to input a different number of years if they choose to self-assess. Having access to the ATO's guidance would be extremely helpful.

  20. When working with multiple clients and applications, users are being logged out too quickly. Please consider adding a feature to allow console owners to adjust this time out at the console level for the entire organization.
