  1. I have a client family group with 4 people which lives at the same address and now they moved house, so I need to update their address in the system. Instead of updating the address for each individual, I am sure there is a way to prompt the system to detects this old address in XPM, it will then prompt me to change for all of them. I have seen this function when I was using the Solution 6 system about 15 years ago, so I am sure it is do-able.

    From our Change the address for all clients in a group article:


    1. Select Clients, then select the Groups tab.
    2. Click the name of the group, then click on one of the clients in the group.
    3. Click Options, then select Edit.
    4. Under Contact Details, edit the address details, then click Save.
    5. Click Update Related Clients' addresses
    6. (Optional) Click All Related Clients to filter related clients by relationships or group members. The filter only shows if the client has at least one relationship set up and is also a member of at least one group.
    7. Select the checkbox for each address you want to change, then click Update.

  2. I'm a part-time bookkeeper and would find a Calendar or Task List such as Outlook provides very useful for setting up 'Reminders' to carry out certain time critical tasks.

  3. Do not understand why if a client files their own income tax return with Inland Revenue and an assessment is issued why this is not updated in XPM, issues arise that we have no knowledge of assessment so affects Provisional and Income tax notices

  4. It would be nice to be able to store all emails re a client that a NOT job specific under a Client Tab.
    We are able to do for Jobs which is neat but to enable us to store general emails under the client would be good. I guess they would need a unique email address just like the job storage of emails? We have tab for Jobs, Documents etc so one for emails with an address would be nice.

  5. Would be nice for a client to have access to all queries from accountancy practice directly in Xero, instead of following links from emails. Quite often the client does not notice those emails or ignore it. It would be more convenient to log in to Xero, go to outstanding queries and complete those.

  7. Enable a Bank account to be created when the Chart of Accounts we have created in HQ is imported. Currently, this is not possible. All Bank accounts in the COA need to be changed to Current Assets, and then in the newly created Xero Blue organisation file, the "Bank" accounts have to be deleted and created again! Very annoying. The overall process is great, but this is annoying. We have many bank accounts in our various standard chart of accounts. I want to include the bank accounts so that my staff know the account numbers to use when they set…

  8. The ability to have certain custom fields show up for specific client types.

    For example a "Rental Property" custom field only showing up on the "Individual" clients. Currently this would show up on all clients.

    Given that so many different reports can be created from the custom fields, it would be extremely helpful to have only the relevant fields displayed on the relevant client type/structure.

  11. AU Tax - Printing Return Not Necessary tax returns

    Currently Xero tax can print tax returns by withholding the TFN Numbers which is really good. However, if that same functionality can be added to CURNN- Return Not Necessary would be great.

  12. In Xero Practice Manager - The Custom fields that can appear on the Client and Job are not common data. Eg. When you update a custom field on the Job the information does not flow through to the Client page where this is also displayed. This would be very helpful for a workflow to update in both places.

  14. Ability to become an affiliate if not a BAS agent or tax agent.

    I am a chartered accountant with a finance coaching and Virtual CFO company but I am not a BAS or tax agent. I use Xero, train clients on Xero and recommend Xero to all of my clients and would recommend there was an affiliate scheme without having to be a BAS or tax agent.

    Hi Lucy, to make sure I understand your idea here. When you say an affiliate would that be an affiliate to make use of AU Tax as a product or more broadly the Partner Program that Xero has for Practice users ? 

  15. I'm being advised My Xero will be being replaced with Xero HQ. As an admin, one of my key roles is to grant user access. I like to confirm the access by sending/responding to the request with an email. In My Xero, I copy the name of the entity, and it's associated hyperlink, into my response email. When I do this in Xero HQ, there is no hyperlink associated with the entity name which means I need to navigate to the entity, grab the URL and hyperlink it manually.

When setting up a new client in Xero, it would be great if we could select from a drop-down list the chart of accounts that we need instead of Xero automatically assigning one as we have found that it is assigning the wrong COA to the entities that we are creating. As an example - we have set up a Trust but have been given the COA for a Sole Trader. If we could have selected the Trust COA from a drop-down list, I believe it would give us a more accurate COA without the need to do so much…

  18. Have the ability for each user to assign their location and name against invoices in XPM to automatically track across to Xero Blue.

    Currently has per job / task the function to track this but it only allows 1 selection for each.

    The staff have been creating invoices in XPM then have to go into Xero blue to assign the location and staff.

  19. Please incorporate myxero into practice manager. at the moment there are MyXero, XeroHQ, XPM and XeroBlue all have different but similar settings, which makes thing very confusing.

  20. Can we make it possible to amend the 'Shareholders' funds' heading on the statutory balance sheet for companies Limited by Guarantee.
