  1. Clients need the ability to preview quotes and invoices on the mobile application before they send the document to their customer. I have a brand new client that took me several months to get him to move from QBO to Xero, and he is ready to pull the plug on Xero because this feature is missing. He performs 90% of his work on his mobile.

  2. Semi-sticky header.
    This would be useful in many areas, but an area where it would be very useful is reconciling bank transactions. Consider you're at the bottom of the page looking at a transaction, and you only have Xero open on one browser tab. You want to run a report or open another bank account targeting a new tab to cross-reference that transaction.

    Currently, you have to scroll all the way up to get to the header menu, therefore losing the transaction you wanted to review. It would be great if you could scroll up just a little and the…

  3. A few recent updates have made it Xeroefficient - 1) when clicking the search bar before you could paste in the search bar straight away - now you need to click into the search bar before pasting which is an extra unnecessary step. 2) before you could go straight to financial settings from the home page in the drop down menu, now you need to click on accounting settings first and then click on financial settings.

  4. The recent global Xero outage at the end of October highlighted a challenge for firms relying heavily on XPM: when Xero goes down, so does a big part of your workflow. Many teams reported staff unable to progress work because core systems were offline.

    How do other Xero Partners handle business continuity during these outages? Would it be valuable to have an integrated or secondary platform that allows firms to keep operating to some degree until Xero is back online?

  5. Add the ability to sort by Account. This is helpful when reviewing transactions in bulk to double check that rules have been applied correctly.

    Also improve the logic currently used to sort. It should sort A-Z followed by blanks OR start with blanks and then follow Z-A. In the screenshot you'll see I'm sorting on Description but it has sorted the transactions by Date first and THEN Description, leading to a sort view that isn't helpful.

  6. Improve the sorting functionality within the Cash Coding screen to sort by Account. When I review the transactions (esp ones that have rules) it's difficult to assess if they've been categorized correctly and might need changes.

    Additional ask would be to improve the sort logic that already exists. When you sort by Description it should show A-Z and then blanks at the bottom, or Z-A with blanks at the start. But you can see in the screenshot it's sorted by Description but one transaction is floating in the middle of blanks...why?

  7. Every time I process a payroll (hundreds every year), I produce the Payroll reports to send to the client.

    The Payroll Activity Details Report AND THE Payroll Employee Summary shows the INCORRECT details in the heading. For example The report reads: "For the period 17 November 2025 to 17 November 2025". THIS IS NOT CORRECT, and it wastes HOURS having to change it every single time.

    The Report is for the Processed Pay Period just completed!!!
    Can we have this corrected to the pay period when this report is directly created from a payroll run??? the date for Example SHOULD…

  8. It would be good to have the ability to amend account headings through the new company accounts via Xero blue. This could be linked to the reporting name or as an iXBRL heading. The main issue we are trying to address is including brackets around the word profit when there has been a disposal of a fixed asset (or loss if it is showing in the income section). just for clarity on the accounts.

    Thanks for sharing in the forums here, Becky. Appreciate the understanding of the pain point currently faced and how this could improve clarity. For now, we'll start to get a sense of the community interest in this here and I'll let you know if there are any updates.

  9. There should be a comprehensive audit trail for jobs set up in XPM. In addition to the information about who created/modified details, individual time entries must show edited or moved details. We've had an instance where billable entries have been popping up into a client's job that should not have billable entries. What's scary is that these billable entries belong to various other clients who have no connection to the non-billable client. We cannot find who if anyone did move the entries and Xero does not have the ability to tell us either.

  10. Our client submits VAT returns in UK and in the Republic of Ireland - they have set up 13.5% and 23% ROI tax rates on Xero but the VAT on these transactions is posted to the normal 820 VAT liability along with all their UK VAT transactions.
    Can a second VAT liability account not be set up for their ROI VAT and these tax rates linked to it, so as to keep the VAT for the returns in the two different areas separate?

  11. The new Xero HQ is pretty but important functionally has been removed especially in the Staff tab.

    1. With the previous version of Xero HQ we could go to the STAFF tab click "Assign client" and we could use the search bar, select multiple organisation with different names, tick them and assign permissions to them all in bulk. This can longer be done as the search bar "forgets" what was selected, when the selection is not on the same page.

    2. From the staff view we now cannot see the roles of each and every staff member, we need to click on…

  12. Spell check on sales invoices. I have multiple clients using Xero to raise their sales invoices and quotes, and spelling isn't their strong point. Having spell check enable within sales invoices and quotes will be extremely valuable for them.

I would like to recommend adding 'Effective Date of VAT Registration' on the Financial settings, as this information can easily disappear amongst all the many documents we store for the client and also easily mistaken as the Date of company incorporation that can lead to many issues down the line with HMRC.

    In P&L we have the concept of FX Calculations for foreign currencies:
    Bank Revaluations
    Realised Currency Gains
    Unrealised Currency Gains

    By design this takes the full amount of debt/credit and converts it to a base currency.

    But in situations where COGS are paid for in the same currency, there should be a concept of only applying these FX movements on the net margin remaining.

    For example.
    I have an Australian business. Base currency AUD.
    I send an invoice of EURO 100,000 to my Parisian client for the month. I receive the 100k in my EURO Foreign Currency Bank…

  16. In Xero partnership tax returns there is no option to populate the balance sheet boxes. Xero lacks this which i believe is core deficiancy and must be addressed immediatily

  17. AU 100% GST on Imports - this function needs to be improved. It's 2025 and we are still required to do manual adjustments for GST on imports to get the correct result. It shouldn't be this difficult!

  18. Is there a report on payments made after the due date to easily identify those not paid. Also I there a report available of payments made by INC year. This is to identify misdirected payments. If not can this please be made available.

  20. I want a report to be generated from Xero tax where i can view the total number of personal tax returns along with the bifurcation of tax returns on the basis of their current status. For instance, the report should have the total number of tax returns that need to be completed for the tax year 24-25 and then the breakdown of the same as per the status.
