  1. Losses carried forward have to be manually entered each year. It would be great if the information flowed through automatically from the prior year tax return. This will help to reduce risks that someone may accidently omit or incorrectly enter losses.

  2. In Tax Statements, under Transfers tab: the "auto mark as complete" needs to happen by both amount and date. So need the ability to set the effective date for the transfer to occur, therefore if IRD does something different we are alerted.

    Currently if transfer is the same $ value or more, then Xero automatically marks as complete, this should not occur. If the $ is more then the transfer has not gone as expected and we need to be alerted to this.

  3. Xero Tax(AU) | Worksheet to calulate number of days not liable for M2 (Medicare levy surcharge)

    When some client has more than 1 health insurance policy and the period of the same are diffrent and sometime overlapping we need the work out this manually which can sometime be wrongly caluclated and can impact the tax estimates.

    Xero should have a worksheet where we can enter policy details along with perioid of coverage to that it can calculae the days acurately. Similar feature is avaialble in MYOB AO and comes in very handy.

  4. How do we manage transitional years in Xero? For example, client has change of balance date & now has a 4th installment of provisional tax, IRD recognises the new installment but XPM does not, still only shows 3 installments. If Xero uses the IRD as the source of truth then surely the new 4th installment date should show in both Statements and Payments.

Have the ability to run a report to include in the Financial Statements that is a Group Summary, so includes all selected entities within a group and details all amounts payable or refunds due for all upcoming provisional and terminal tax dates (regardless of balance date) and a Net Tax position

  6. If a client fails to pay the first installment of provisional tax why is it then added to the next installment and then P1 shows as nothing due. This is incorrect, the amount due at P1 is still the same (per the IRD), the debt at P1 has not moved to P2. What happens for client's who have RIT over $60k?

  8. For notes made in Tax Payments: these need to be split into 2 areas, (1) notes pertaining to that provisional installment and, (2) notes that will continue to roll forward.

    It is crucial that even if the installment date has passed, the notes are still visible. Also from the main Tax Payments screen we need an indicator on the client row to show that the client has an active note (with the ability to archive a note as well).

  9. Would be very beneficial to be able to run a report listing all clients who have outstanding transfers and refunds for a period (and export it). We need to be proactive and contact the IRD before they refund the client instead of actioning a transfer as requested. In APS we could pick up any mismatch early and were able to contact the IRD or the client and rectify quickly.

  10. For tax returns prepared after a provisional tax date has passed and the client has a refund from the prior year, we need to be able to transfer the refund at the effective date within the tax return. If IRD do not action this then a mismatch needs to trigger an alert.

    It would be great to have a running record of client history in XPM, showing the date and person who, including but not limited to:
    - created the client
    - edited client details
    - archived client
    In a large firm over multiple offices, it would be easier to know who to contact if there are questions about details are entered into XPM, and keep XPM as a CRM up to date.

  12. Kelly, it is a long message. Please be patient. It demonstrates what mess is created in new invoicing. It demonstrates that new invoicing is not ready to fly solo after 20.11.2024. We must have a functional backup of classic invoicing if new invoicing is so erroneous.

    I had to credit invoice INV-1548 for $1,483.35 in the locked period and replace it with two new invoices addressed to two customers (let’s call them customer1 and customer2). I had to show in the new invoices what was the credit part for each customer.

    I tried testing this myself with a Chrome browser and did get the same errors and behaviour you described, so have raised this with our product team. I'll keep you updated of any information I get back from them on this, here.

  13. Am I the only one who dislikes the new Invoice in Xero? I think it is clunky and not visually as easy as the previous. I find it hard to describe but it seems the proportions of the boxes are not right. At least not on my Macbook.

  14. NZ Tax Audit Check of Overseas Income Jurisdiction Codes needs corrected to identify invalid country code UK and bring up a red error message. The correct code for the United Kingdom is GB not UK, the audit check should pick this up at the audit check stage which it currently does not. Thus when we go to file the return the return goes in to error as the jurisdiction code is invalid.

  15. Starting from July 2024 Malaysia government implement e-invoicing. It would be grateful if Xero could integrate with LHDN. It will save lots of hustle and time to upload the invoices into the portal. Hope this can be done before the implementation begins.

    Hi everyone, we're pleased to share that Xero is now an accredited Peppol-Ready Solution Provider (PRSP) by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). We'll be launching e-invoicing features progressively in the upcoming months, and we'll be compliant with the government’s e-invoicing initiative by 1 January 2025.   18. Upon accepting a subscription transfer request, it would be great to have an option to "link to existing client record" or "create a new client record". There's currently no option for this and this creates double-up entries in Xero HQ which need to be manually removed, re-linked and archived.

  19. It would be fantastic to attach more than one file when publishing from Hubdoc to Xero! Often bills come with supporting documentation, such as contracts and/or receipts. It would be great to be able to attach these, as well as the original bill to be published.

  20. It isn't possible to add a quantity column to a report, nor is it possible to pull through Qty data entered in Xero or create a cell the Qty can be manually typed into.

    You can add a note column but this would be to link to a section of the report pack, not a quantity loaded into Xero or a box we could manually type the quantity into. Further the notes section functionality is unable to be renamed and can only be linked to other reports in the report pack. It does not work to bring through Qty data.
