New invoicing - Option to use Xero Network
xero to xero Invoicing
We use the Classic Invoicing version on Xero to send Invoices to our inter-companies and clients who are also registered with Xero.
On 02 Sept 2024 this version will retire and only New Invoicing will be available.
We are not able to select "send via Xero Network" from the New Invoicing option (using our Xero Network Key).
Are the technical teams still working on this to have the option available or will this option fall away?

As you’ve found, there’s no functionality in New Invoicing to use Xero to Xero invoicing, as this option is being retired.
However, you can raise a suggestion directly with our product team to suggest they implement this functionality in the New Invoicing functionalities, as they're still developing additions and improvements to New Invoicing.

Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate all the feedback we've heard from our customers on their use of the Xero network and the importance this is for helping you move efficiently when using new invoicing. Where possible we highly encourage setting up and using eInvoicing as a solution which is wider reaching than just those businesses on Xero, and has more functionality.
In it's current state you can continue to send invoices using the Xero Network from the Awaiting payments list. That said, we've been listening closely and our product team are now considering development to incorporate sending invoices from Xero to Xero within new invoicing, as well as developing on this feature to enable attachments to be included when sending. We'll shift the idea to Under review for now and I'll share as there is more progression of this to update you on.

I like some features of the new invoicing system, but I, too, continue to use the Classic system for the XERO to XERO network invoicing

Do we have any update on this issue?? Unable to send the invoice straight thru Xero network but have to go to Awaiting Payment page is just a time waster. This is a HUGE set back to the new invoicing.

Please keep the option of old invoicing, until you have developed the Xero-Xero networking. Not having this option is a big downgrade in functionality.

Happy to read it is not too late for the product team to reconsider the omission of the Xero-to-Xero networking from the new invoicing. This is such a time saving function within classic invoicing and I really do not wish to see it discontinued. I look forward to seeing this function being built into new invoicing. Thank you.

Very inconvenient that this feature was discontinued. I have found work-arounds for so many other lost features and awkwardness in the new invoicing, but this one takes the cake. I would also suggest keeping classic invoicing until this feature is added to new invoicing.

Not having use of the Xero-to-Xero network is a HUGE time waster and a big downfall for New Invoicing. Big step backwards for me in UX.

This is definitely a step backwards.
Plus the fact that this feature was taken away was hidden from all the promos. I did even find out the bill did not show up on the client's side until the client complained :(

I send inter-entity invoices between related entities all the time - I sent two over an hour ago via e-invoicing because I'm not into the extra work required of the suggested workaround. I'd really like to be able to put them into a bill run tonight, but I can only do that if they arrive in the receiving Xero file before COB, and since that's in five minutes, I very much doubt they'll make it in time.
E-invoicing is not under Xero's control, so there's nothing Xero can do about any delays, except make it easy to use Xero-to-Xero again so I'm not wasting time waiting for inter-entity invoicing to arrive.

There are only 30 days or so till Xero is retiring classic invoicing. I have been pursuing the ridiculous decision to discontinue Xero to Xero function since July without a single positive response. 4 months of just being fobbed off with ..... "Our Product Team are considering customer feedback". I sincerely feel "Product team" need to be answerable and accountable. How are they getting away with this???? Please consider extending retirement date until they have resolved the issue contiuing the brilliant Xero to Xero function.

I really do not understand what your programmers are thinking
You want us to promote your program over others, so why would you remove the Xero-to-Xero function or make it much more difficult to send invoices to another Xero file.I have absolutely no interest in your e-invoicing function as any invoices that I send directly from my Xero file are going to another Xero file.

Mind you, if you had been listening closely, you would be postponing the compulsory switch over to the new invoicing until absolutely all of the problems that come with this new system had been fixed.Fix the issues, listen to daily users of this system, restore the functionality that has been a part of your program for years and then think about flicking the switch over to your “new Improved” invoicing.
Xero keep telling us that the appreciate the feedback that they’ve received. If Xero only took the time to read the feedback and implement what its users are asking for.

Seems crazy that this function was removed - I'm not sure why Xero would have done that. Would appreciate if this function was added back to the new invoicing.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could you resume that function. Perhaps it might be an idea to survey users about their needs before removing functionality. This seems to be a repetitive problem over the past couple of years while you have made "improvements".

I have a network of over 20 franchisee businesses that I invoice each month.
I would have to log on to all those accounts to process their invoices and that is a lot of time extra to my month end!
Xero to Xero works really well! -

Just to add another vote for retaining Xero network within the new invoicing screen. In our case, eInvoicing is not an option as our subsidiary is based in a territory (Kenya) which isn't supported.
This habit of Xero of constant price increases along with removal of functionality that people rely on really has to stop!

Hero HQ - Can we have the ability to send an invoice via the Xero to Xero network when we raise the invoice is the new invoice system rather than having to go into the awaiting invoice page and sending from there, the same way we could in the old invoicing system? I thought the new way was supposed to be progress?

It seems bizarre that one of the great features of XERO was the network key operation - and it has been removed -can this be put back. I have looked at Mayday as people suggest but extra fees again!! It is a great feature can we have it back?

I am also baffled and infuriated at this decision by Xero - why take away something that works so well and then tell people they must use a 3rd party tool (and spend more money no doubt). I personally hate the new invoicing layout and switch back to classic every time. I don't see the need to change it actually in the first place.
But please if you are going to force us all to the new system make sure it at least does all the things the old one does before adding new "features".
Alongside not being able to automate statement sending, this stupid decision is something that would make me consider ditching Xero entirely now. Not impressed at all.

I am so mad at the utter stupidity of this decision that I can't even type an eloquent response.
We send invoices between our 11 companies. This is going to cost us so much extra processing time even using a third party app for eInvoicing, since Xero then uses our logo to determine the contact/supplier instead of using the company name on the invoice.
