Homepage - Automatically update the Widgets
Automatically update the Widgets on the New Homepage instead of refreshing each one individually. This will significantly save time and ensure up to date accuracy
Hi team, we appreciate the feedback we've received around the need to manually refresh widgets on the homepage for organisations with higher volumes of data.
Our product teams have been paying close attention and monitoring usage and we have recently released an update that will improve the experience for these larger organisations - Reducing the automatic update from 24 hours to 1 hour. Meaning your data is more recent and up to date, and saving you from having to manually refresh as often. 🙂
To reconfirm the rationale and how this works - To help the homepage load efficiently, some widgets in these organisations show data from the last 1 hour by default.
- These widgets are designed to automatically update with the latest figures from the last 1 hour when you log in.
- If you need to see the most up-to-date numbers in-between the 1-hourly automatic updates, simply click the refresh icon in the top right corner of the widget.
To be clear, this is only applied to organisations with higher data volumes to ensure Xero stays fast and performant for everyone. We appreciate feedback here but don't have any plans for automatic refresh for these organisations.

Please if your going to have a new home page at least make the data corrrect ours is always wrong . Notes 5 task to reconcile open bank and there is none, if there is draft invoices it says 0 and there is 200 when you open it. All the data seems wrong and so thus leaves an elemet o of distrust and you have to click into everything to see what needs to be done. Seems like wasted energy

When I first reported this issue, their recommendation was to clear my cache. ?? Multiple times per day? Ridiculous. They also didn't mention other users have complained about the lack of auto-refreshing data and made me feel like it was just happening to me. This home page is NOT an improvement - more clicks and refreshes to get what used to be automatically updated on the previous home page.

Please fix the account widgets displaying unreconciled transactions , the new homepage isn't updating in real-time unlike the old homepage.

It is so bizarre and backwards!
I see you have commented on my post: 'Home page 'reconciles to do' now don't auto refresh?' Please vote on it too so these posts get traction :-)
Xero, why are you making us click all over the page home page just so we can see where we are right now?! I used to just refresh the page, now I risk getting an RSI..... :-(

I have added a comment to this point raise already but to me it is so important that I am writing again as a separate comment so it is clear. I find it utterly bizarre that the Home page does not auto update - Surely one of the main purposes of a Home page/Summary page is to show an accurate and current position. I have 13 bank accounts of one sort of another (if you include credit card accounts that I have set up as bank accounts) and so now I have to press the "Refresh" button 13 times because items reconciled do not show as such unless I manually refresh - that is a MASSIVE step backwards from an efficiency point of view on top of it not showing the right position. Can someone explain why this functionality was stopped and change it back as soon as possible.

I am absolutely amazed that the Homepage does not automatically refresh. What a nonsense that a Home page isn't showing the most up to date information/status. I have 13 bank accounts of one sort or another and so now need to press 13 extra buttons to get the accurate picture. That, to me is a MASSIVE step backwards in terms of efficiency.

I see there was a similar post that has been closed 'Homepage - Automatically update the Widgets' - however my post here is specifically about Bank Accounts.
I understand why the data widgets post may not be in the pipeline - but Bank Account data surely should be auto-updated, otherwise the new Dashboard is a backwards move compared to the old one?
Xero is all about the most up to date data at your fingertips, but now, I am seeing 'yesterdays' reconcile status (as in how many transactions left to reconcile as of yesterday) when I log in to the app today?! I don't want to have to click the circle-arrow button on 8 different bank accounts every time I access the Dashboard (which could be many times a day), just to see where my Accounts Teams currently are with our reconciliation. Live data was available previously?
** Update after another day's use - Even having to click the refresh button for every widget each time you go to the home page and need to see up to date data is annoying and time consuming. If auto-refresh isn't going to be possible for this new Homepage so some reason - could you at least add a 'Master Refresh' circle button at the Top, so that you only click one button and it refreshes ALL the widgets, bank accounts and items to reconcile on the whole page?? :-(

I have noticed now that the current status of bank accounts (name change, transactions to reconcile - being the major one) is not automatically updated upon page refresh. If a colleague has done reconciliations - they all still appear as outstanding on my home page.... So it looks like there is still work to do here - I was very confused, and then realised I had the press the circle with arrows button to make this data correct from a sync. This would get frustrating very quickly as we have many bank accounts and 3 of us able to reconcile - we didn't use to have to press a button on every account to see the current state of play! It used to just show most updated version when you went back to the home page or refreshed the page.
