Workpapers | Edit Link - Not Delete Right Away

Whenever a link is attached in Xero Workpapers, and that link changes or gets deleted, there should be an option to simply edit or replace the existing link — instead of having to delete it and add a new one each time. The current process causes unnecessary delays when preparing workpapers.

Hi community, with new Workpapers there is now a button to edit attachment next to the URLs that'll allow you to update rather than delete the existing link 🥳

Thanks for sharing how this idea and helping to shape the future of Workpapers.

Hi team, I’ve got some updates on the Edit Link – Not Delete Right Away feature for Xero Workpapers. This is a confirmed feature for the new Xero Workpapers solution and is currently in development as part of the new Workpapers solution being developed in partnership with BGL and in the upcoming roadmap. The goal is to address a major workflow pain point that was raised directly from customer feedback. The plan is for a phased rollout, starting with Australia in FY26, Updates on the release will be shared through the Xero blog ( https://blog.xero.com/ ) as we get closer to launch. This feature is part of a broader set of improvements focused on enhancing review, collaboration, and compliance within the new platform. ⭐
