  1. To have a way to easily detect which clients need individual e-invoice in invoici, e.g., there are Tax number in Xero,
    so that we can easily select those clients who need individual e-invoice and send to Inland Revenue in Malaysia.

  2. Ability to turn off / toggle the warning for

    "The invoice was raised after the payment you are reconciling to"

    Alot of my invoices are dated after the payment date for whatever reason. It would be create to have a choice whether to receive this warning or not.

  3. "Copy to draft quote" to copy ALL details from the invoice.

    Currently, when a new quote is created from and invoice using "Copy to draft quote", not all details are copied form the invoice.
    For example, the currency is not copied from the invoice but from the customer's default currency (which may be different than the invoice's); I am not aware whether other parts of the invoice are not brought over to the quote.

    I contacted support who confirmed that this is a feature - it is actually done on purpose.

    I think this is in fact a bug and…

    Thanks for sharing your feedback on this. We understand why it would be helpful to have complete confidence that all details carry over when copying an invoice to a draft quote. At this stage, we’re going to move this idea to Gaining support so we can continue tracking interest and better understand how many customers this impacts and the specific details they expect to be copied across. While we can’t commit to any changes right now, your feedback is valuable and helps inform how we assess possible improvements in this area 🙂

    Thanks for sharing this idea. 🌟 At the moment, Xero does support attaching multiple files, but each individual file needs to be under 25MB.

    So this limit applies per file, rather than as one total cap across all files uploaded through the common file uploader.

    We understand why larger file support would be helpful, and we’ll leave this idea here so the team can continue to gauge interest and demand for changes in this area.

  5. Currently, in order to send multiple invoices at once, each invoice has it's own email address box to enter the recipient's email, there is no selection available to send multiple invoices to a custom email address in one click.

    This would be most helpful, especially when multiple invoices are required to go to a different email address (from the default contact email). At the moment this means entering a different email into each individual address box, even if this means entering the same email up to 50 times for each invoice selected.

  6. We have government clients who are asking to be sent invoices using the eInvoicing function, rather than pdf's via Xero's email function.
    Some government clients will ONLY accept eInvoices from Jan-27.
    BUT these government clients require a separate field to be added to the invoice header so that their system can recognise the invoice and link it to their purchase order.

    We are unable to comply as we alreadyusetheReferencefieldforINTERNALpurposes.

    Hi Jo, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how dual reference fields could help meet government client requirements, especially with the January 2027 eInvoicing mandate approaching. After reviewing this with our product team, we've moved this idea to Not in pipeline, which means the product team have reviewed the idea and it isn't on the foreseeable roadmap. The idea remains open for votes, so we encourage the community to continue supporting it if this impacts their business. We'll keep monitoring feedback from the community on this topic.

  7. Currently I can sort my draft invoices by "To" which seems to then default to "Number" as a second level. I have multiple invoices for the one client each month and it would be great if I could sort by "Ref" then sort by "To" and the "Ref" would remain the second level field, instead of "Number."

The best way to work around this at the moment is to search the contact name on the search field in Draft invoices and then use the sort filter for the references.

  8. I do not like new invoicing, so I want to KEEP to original invoicing for as long as I possibly can Until End of Feb, without having to manually scroll down to the bottom of the page everytime I log in and manually select original invoicing every time.

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate your feedback here. With the retirement of classic invoicing in February, and to help customers get used to the new invoicing experience this default will continue to apply.

    As we continue to improve the new experience this means customers may find updates that help their workflow and adopt the new experience.

    The option to switch back to classic will be available and we understand this is the experience some customers may choose to use up until the retirement date.

  9. Can we bring in all Journals made in the financial year not just what we create in workpapers (I picked a job we have completed to test, to see what we might like to see & this is something that would be handy, so we don't double up JNLs), also shows that the system will talk back & forth

  10. From 1st January 2025 businesses in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices and this function does not exist in the Global edition we use for our German clients.

    We need this functionality setting up as a matter of urgency.

    Thanks for raising the idea with us. Our team are aware of the mandate of eInvoicing for Germany. While we don't have immediate work planned at this stage our plan is to support any Peppol-enabled region in the long term and we are paying close attention to the interest from users on this idea. We'll be sure to update of any progress surrounding this for you, here.

    The mandate currently states "The new legal regulation currently contains no specifications for the electronic transmission of electronic invoices. An email inbox should therefore initially be sufficient to receive an electronic invoice."

    Based on this, currently with Xero an eInvoice could be received by using our Email to bills service, or by including the invoice as an attachment and sending to your organisation's Files library. On agreement with your suppliers you could share your bills, or files library email with them so…

    I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.

    I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.

    Because the invoice reference field was reduced to 255 characters (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/49018595-new-invoicing-remove-255-character-limit-for-ref), this would be the only way to be able to find…

  12. Retain the This Make manual tax adjustments from the invoice subtotal in New Invoicing. This is a feature that I use as I have to import sales figures from an external program and the VAT figure is different by a small amount But I don't want to have to alter each line on the invoice.

  15. When printing a PDF the file opens in a new tab so it can be printed instead of downloading the file. Xero downloads the PDF to file when the "Print PDF" button is clicked creating file clutter and unnecessary steps to print a PDF. It would be useful if the PDF opened in a new tab and could be printed immediately without downloading the file first like other accounting software does. This will save time and clutter in files.

    Thank you for your suggestion to have PDFs open in a new tab or preview window for easier printing.

    Currently, as you know, Xero downloads PDFs directly to your device before you can print them. While we’ve looked into opening PDFs in a new tab, there are challenges like browser pop-up blockers and security concerns that make this difficult to support smoothly for everyone.

    At this stage, there are no plans to change the current process. However, your feedback is valued, and you can continue to share your thoughts and support for this idea on our product ideas page.

  17. Currently Quotes are not able to be sent directly for e-sign acceptance (i.e. clients will need to print physical copy of quote, sign and email back unless they have access to adobe sign). It would be an improvement if quote can be sent to Xero Sign for signing and audit trail. Alternatively, it would also be great if clients can accept/decline from the quote email.

  18. Sales tab - Love the "Billable Expenses", Needs to be above Quotes.
    Need to be able to not bill them where I have a project invoice. Just assign the customer.

    Hi team, thanks for your feedback on this idea. Our team are currently working on a refreshed Sales overview page which will soon be rolling out to customers. As part of this work they'll be solving for the idea here with Billable expenses sitting before Quotes. 😊

  19. When using the mobile app, currently once an invoice has been completed and emailed, it says "unpaid invoice" in a blue banner at the top. It is sometimes difficult to notice the little popup which says "invoice sent" at the bottom, and this could lead to the invoice being sent again.

    Changing the color of the banner at the top (i.e. to green) would be a nice visual indicator the email has already been sent.

    Hi Brandi, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how a color-coded banner could make it easier to manage on the mobile app. We have moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means the Xero community can now vote and comment to show their interest. If this is something your peers would like to see as well, we'd love for you to share this with them and welcome others to join the conversation and add their support.   20. When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
    If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
    BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."
