  1. Currently I can sort my draft invoices by "To" which seems to then default to "Number" as a second level. I have multiple invoices for the one client each month and it would be great if I could sort by "Ref" then sort by "To" and the "Ref" would remain the second level field, instead of "Number."

The best way to work around this at the moment is to search the contact name on the search field in Draft invoices and then use the sort filter for the references.

  2. I do not like new invoicing, so I want to KEEP to original invoicing for as long as I possibly can Until End of Feb, without having to manually scroll down to the bottom of the page everytime I log in and manually select original invoicing every time.

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate your feedback here. With the retirement of classic invoicing in February, and to help customers get used to the new invoicing experience this default will continue to apply.

    As we continue to improve the new experience this means customers may find updates that help their workflow and adopt the new experience.

    The option to switch back to classic will be available and we understand this is the experience some customers may choose to use up until the retirement date.

  3. Hubdoc App. needs the ability to allocate chart of accounts to the bill when uploading rather than always having to do this on the web platform

  4. Can we bring in all Journals made in the financial year not just what we create in workpapers (I picked a job we have completed to test, to see what we might like to see & this is something that would be handy, so we don't double up JNLs), also shows that the system will talk back & forth

  6. From 1st January 2025 businesses in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices and this function does not exist in the Global edition we use for our German clients.

    We need this functionality setting up as a matter of urgency.

    Thanks for raising the idea with us. Our team are aware of the mandate of eInvoicing for Germany. While we don't have immediate work planned at this stage our plan is to support any Peppol-enabled region in the long term and we are paying close attention to the interest from users on this idea. We'll be sure to update of any progress surrounding this for you, here.

    The mandate currently states "The new legal regulation currently contains no specifications for the electronic transmission of electronic invoices. An email inbox should therefore initially be sufficient to receive an electronic invoice."

    Based on this, currently with Xero an eInvoice could be received by using our Email to bills service, or by including the invoice as an attachment and sending to your organisation's Files library. On agreement with your suppliers you could share your bills, or files library email with them so…

  7. Logging into xero is very annoying because everytime it asks for 2FA code even for trusted devices. It doesnt remember the device even when we press trust device

  8. You are currently able to build a zap to create an invoice and add items to the invoice. It would be useful if we could build zaps to both create and add items to a quote as well.

  9. Retain the This Make manual tax adjustments from the invoice subtotal in New Invoicing. This is a feature that I use as I have to import sales figures from an external program and the VAT figure is different by a small amount But I don't want to have to alter each line on the invoice.

  10. It would be so helpful if tradesmen could create a printable & electronic job sheet from a quotation containing materials and time scales etc
    This would be amazing as I have to use other software for this .

    Hey Steve, thanks for sharing this idea. We get that it’s an extra step having to create a job sheet in another tool after you’ve already prepared the quote in Xero, and how a more streamlined flow would save you time.

    One option for now is to use Xero Projects to track time and expenses against your work. While we know this doesn't give you that specific printable job sheet for your team on the go, it's the best way to manage the work in Xero right now. Another user has also helpfully highlighted how they use quote templates to create job sheets in Xero.

    Alternatively, as you’ve mentioned, there are options on the Xero App Store that may provide the solution you’re looking for here.

  12. When printing a PDF the file opens in a new tab so it can be printed instead of downloading the file. Xero downloads the PDF to file when the "Print PDF" button is clicked creating file clutter and unnecessary steps to print a PDF. It would be useful if the PDF opened in a new tab and could be printed immediately without downloading the file first like other accounting software does. This will save time and clutter in files.

    Thank you for your suggestion to have PDFs open in a new tab or preview window for easier printing.

    Currently, as you know, Xero downloads PDFs directly to your device before you can print them. While we’ve looked into opening PDFs in a new tab, there are challenges like browser pop-up blockers and security concerns that make this difficult to support smoothly for everyone.

    At this stage, there are no plans to change the current process. However, your feedback is valued, and you can continue to share your thoughts and support for this idea on our product ideas page.

When searching if an item code exists in the item column when in bill entry, the drop down minimises to "+NEW ITEM" - ideal if the code you have already typed (i.e) the new on to be set up, can be automatically copied into the new item set up pop out. Additionally it would be fantastic if the what is typed into the item name and be replicated in the purchase description box, if overtyped - currently it replicates, however if you then change the text in the item name it does not change in the purchase description box

  14. As a charity funded entirely by donation we receive the majority of funds via online bank receipts. Because the bank receipt is standard, I currently manually create a receipt for our donors in word which I can attach to the bank receipt transaction and email to the donor. This is very time-consuming and I think it would be a very easy fix to allow customisation as with invoices

  15. Provide a setting to hide GST from the quote total (display only), allowing businesses to present ex-GST pricing (while clearly noting prices are ex GST in the notes below for transparency). GST is still automatically included when the quote is invoiced.

  16. Currently Quotes are not able to be sent directly for e-sign acceptance (i.e. clients will need to print physical copy of quote, sign and email back unless they have access to adobe sign). It would be an improvement if quote can be sent to Xero Sign for signing and audit trail. Alternatively, it would also be great if clients can accept/decline from the quote email.

  17. When using the mobile app, currently once an invoice has been completed and emailed, it says "unpaid invoice" in a blue banner at the top. It is sometimes difficult to notice the little popup which says "invoice sent" at the bottom, and this could lead to the invoice being sent again.

    Changing the color of the banner at the top (i.e. to green) would be a nice visual indicator the email has already been sent.

    Hi Brandi, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how a color-coded banner could make it easier to manage on the mobile app. We have moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means the Xero community can now vote and comment to show their interest. If this is something your peers would like to see as well, we'd love for you to share this with them and welcome others to join the conversation and add their support. We'll keep an eye on how this develops and share updates along the way.

We have assigned our supplier contacts into "how they are paid" groups which allows Aged Payables reporting by payment type, it would be so useful to be able to filter by group in the purchases - awaiting payment screen, and also be able to add the column "group" into the screen. This would make filtering by EFT suppliers, and exclude suppliers invoices that are paid by Direct Debit or Credit Cards etc.

  19. When an invoice is fully settled by a 100% application of a credit, discount, or retainer, Xero should automatically populate the 'Paid Date' with the date the credit/discount was applied.

    It sounds like you're applying the 100% discount directly within the invoice. If the paid date differs from the invoice date you could apply a credit note which will record the paid date as the date issued in the credit note.
