Xero integrate with Housecall Pro online software
Clients using online software "Housecall Pro" are forced to stay with QBO due to its native integration with the software. Xero can adapt using Zapier, but who really wants to do that!
1 voteHi Marci, though we appreciate you sharing on Product Ideas I want to be open that we don't generally develop integrations with other applications ourselves. We have a great Developer Ecosystem Centre where interested parties can come to learn how to build an integration with Xero, and I'd recommend sharing with Housecall Pro to see if they would look to develop.

Jobber integration to sync data from Xero
There is currently a way one sync from Jobber to Xero. It would be great if a sync from Xero to Jobber can be implemented to records payments in Jobber as soon as a transaction is reconciled in Xero. Similar to what is being one with Thryv and other integrations. This will save me about 1 hour of effort everyday and about 5 hours monthly when the bulk payments come in. I have tried to implement this myself however Jobber API support states they will only allow this if a partner works with them like Quickbooks and Stripe.
1 voteHi Jaco, I want to be open that we don't typically design and build integrations with other apps ourselves. We have a Xero Developer ecosystem where interested parties can come to get information on how to integrate and sync data from Xero with their application. If not already, I'd suggest letting Jobber support team know this is something you'd like to see and if they'd consider expanding their integration for.

Nab BookKeeper Intergrations
Intergrating with Nab Bookkeeper
1 voteHi Zachary, appreciate you sharing your feedback on how you'd find Xero even more powerful for your business.
Being upfront we don't typically develop integrations ourselves. However we have a Developer Centre where interested parties can get information if they'd like to develop an integration with Xero.
I'd recommend connecting with Nab bookKeeper to see if this is something they'd be interested in building and you're welcome to share the link above.

Customer Statements - Include prepayments
Customer Statements - Would be good if customer statements could include a prepayment balance somewhere on the statement. My client receives a lot of prepayments and would like customers to be able to see at a glance their remaining credit.
19 votesHi team, wanting to jump in to provide a little clarity as there are 2 different points arising through this idea.
Currently, customer prepayments will only be shown on a customer's Activity statement, not Outstanding statements.
The way prepayments work in Xero, these only impact the Accounts receivable once it's applied to an invoice, therefore they don't impact the total of the statement balance.
If you want to impact the total balance, you may want to consider entering these sort of payments as Overpayments in your account. You can read more on how this works in our Xero central article.
To be open here, we don't have any short term plans for changing how these transaction types are treated in statements.

Invoicing - Select default for 'Approve' Button e.g not 'Approve & Email
Can there be a system setting which controls the default option on Invoices for the Approve button.
It is currently Approve & Email and we would like to have the default as just Approve. If it was a system setting companies could chose best option for them.
435 votesHi team, thank you for your thorough feedback in this idea. We appreciate there are different preferences our users have when approving invoices in Xero and just to re-highlight - there are now keyboard shortcuts available for most action buttons in invoicing to help navigate and quickly select the option you prefer rather than the drop down selection.
Though we understand it is not the news you're hoping here we want to be transparent that there are no plans at this stage to add the ability to set your own default for the Approve button in invoicing.
We will continue to track the support this idea keeps building and be sure to let you know if there is any change to the status of this idea, here.

Would be good to ad payment machine to xero
Would be good to be able to link your payment card reader to program so you could direct print invoice after customer pay by contactless using hims credit or debit card
1 voteHi Lukasz, what payment provider do you use? Just incase you haven't seen we've launched Tap to Pay powered by Stripe which is now available in a few different regions.
In terms of connecting to direct payment terminals, this would typically be through an integration. We don't generally develop integrations with applications ourselves however you may want to see if there's an integration in the app marketplace that works with your provider and could offer the services you're after here.

Joblogic integration - Selections for invoice status
When syncing invoices from Joblogic to Xero, they post straight to approved status - can a feature be added so they can be posted to 'awaiting approval' to avoid dating errors on the invoices?
Thank you
1 voteHi Parris, many of our applications have designed and built their integration with Xero themselves. They are best placed to engage with on any changes you feel could enhance your experience when integrating data from their application to Xero.

Hi Chloe, we don't generally develop integrations ourselves. Instead we have a Developer Centre where interested parties can get information and connect with experts that can help them develop and build an integration with Xero themselves.
I'd recommend sharing this link with Alto to see if this is something they'd be interested in developing.

Customer Statements - Ageing (30, 60, 90days)
It would be great if we could add ageing on client/customer statements. (Current, 30, 60, 90 days) Many clients have requested that the ageing be displayed on their statements. Current, overdue and total isn't detailed enough..
467 votesHi everybody, coming across from the previous forums we know this idea has a lot of interest.
There is a way of using Xero's reports to accomplish what you're asking here and save the format so you can easily access and send this report to your customers outside of Xero.
Running the Aged Receivables detail report you can choose how many ageing periods you'd like to show and set the period to '30 days'. Simply Filter the report by Contact and Update to run.
- Once you've got it set up, save as Custom so you can easily access this format anytime
- If you deal with groups of contacts this also means you could Filter for multiple contacts to combine the view into one report rather than multiple customer statements 🙂
- Export the report to PDF, where you can send to customers from your email system outside of Xero
We appreciate…

API - Add quote sending
The Xero API will let you send an invoice by email - https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices/#emailing-an-invoice
There is no equivalent functionality for Quotes, each needs to be send manually. This endpoint should be added in as well.
18 votesApologies we've not responded here before now, everyone. While we appreciate your interest in enhancing Xero, ideas for our API are best shared in our Developer community. Taking a quick look I can see that a similar idea for this has already been raised and would encourage you to add your vote to this idea where we have a developer team tracking and responding to the ideas for this, there. Thanks

Email to Credit Note
Draft Bills - Ability to create Credits from Draft Bill sent directly to Xero email
Suppliers email credits as well as Bills, why not have the ability to process a bill or credit through this area, a supplier is not going to invoice credits to one email address and invoices to another. Why can we not select if it is a bill or credit and process.
Purpose: to allow processing of credits through the Draft Bills seamless
cost effective: reduce the need for additional software such as dext or hubdoc, use xero.
Current process: open the Draft Credit, download the…
305 votesHi community, thank you to everyone who's shared and supported the ability to email credit notes to Xero.
We understand why you'd like to be able to automate the flow and entry of Credit Notes in Xero, however this isn't something we have plans of developing within Xero right now.
As mentioned in my last update it's possible to currently automate entry of Credit Notes in Xero, by publishing these through Hubdoc -You can find steps to connecting Hubdoc to your Xero organisation, or detail on publishing Credit notes, on Xero Central.
If there are any changes put in place for this, we'll let you know.

Quotes - Support for quotes with rates but no quantity
Ability to remove value from online quote. This will allow templated quotes to be used where a total value isn't used and individual pricing is set per task. Dependant on the job there are specific rates per brick etc. Which is calculated at the end of a job bet the rate is set at the start therefore we need people to accept our quote (rates) but the total (quantity) wouldn't be determined until job completion.
16 votesHi community, while we appreciate your idea here we want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this change any time in the near term.
If you'd like to enter a quote with rates and no quantity an option could be to specify the detail of the calculation for jobs in the 'Summary' field.
You could set up a separate branding theme to be used specifically for your quotes to alter which fields are shown, and when entering the amounts you'd use the Price field to signal the rate and leave the Qty. field as '0'. This means you'll still have a price set per line of your quote but the total amount of the Quote would be '0' and determined at the completion of the job when you copy the quote to an invoice and enter the Qty.

Invoice - Ability to have recall/undo sent invoices
It would be a huge benefit to be able to recall an email (with invoice attached) sent in error to the wrong client.
An invoice has now gone to the wrong client and my manager will now have to have an embarrassing conversation with the competitor, due to my mistake.
84 votesHi team, we totally get that mistakes happen, and the ability to recall an invoice sent in error would be handy. Hearing how this affects your workflow gives us important context as we review the idea.
At this point, this idea isn’t on our roadmap. Part of the reason is technical: implementing a true recall feature would require extensive work. Once an email leaves Xero, it travels through external email servers outside of our control. Most email providers don’t allow messages to be retracted after delivery, so reliably recalling an invoice isn’t possible in the same way it’d be within an internal system.
We’ll be sure to update this thread if anything changes.

Sales invoices - Download all invoices
To be able to bulk download invoices for a client or multiple clients.
With also the ability to filter to all invoices, paid invoices and not paid invoices.
17 votesHi team, as mentioned in my last update this is already possible with the option to export invoices as a CSV. This will download your invoices with the detail in a CSV format that could be used for some of the purposes described here.
I want to be open that we don't have any plans at this time for enabling a download of multiple invoices at a time as separate PDF documents.
While the idea will moved to Not in pipeline voting will remain open, and if it does pick up traction from the community we may revisit.

Batch Deposits - Select Invoices over multiple pages.
Ability to tick/select invoices over multiple pages.
Purpose: To save users time when they’re doing batch deposits.
108 votesHi community,
I wanted to let you know that the product and tech team have been following this thread and have been listening to your interest in the functionality. We do understand the frustration it’s causing when dealing with a large number of invoices awaiting payment. Your time is valuable, and the challenges you’ve encountered are not reflective of the seamless experience we aim to provide.
However, we are not able to build everything at once. And as a global business with many requests for our different regions and needs, when it comes to payments, we are prioritizing first improving the online invoicing experience to allow more payers to pay online. That is the most critical functionality as we know those using online payments, get paid faster. There are still some critical needs here.
This idea is on our radar though, and as we work through the priority list, it…

Sales Invoices | Templates - Extra formatting options (Bullets, Bold, Italics)
Ability to have a format option for sales invoices.
Purpose: To make sales invoices appear more professional.
86 votesHi team, we appreciate all your feedback here and wanted to share an update as we have a new invoice editor that is being rolled out to all users (already available in NZ, AU, UK and US).
This new editor provides more custom formatting options to help you create invoices that reflect your brand with a side preview so you can instantly see how changes will be shown.
We appreciate that there are additional formatting options that you're asking for here and want to be open that we don't have any plans for providing the ability to edit text formatting in the new editor. We will continue to track votes through this idea and keep an eye on trends so if there are any changes in it's position in the future we can let you know here.

Xero Network - Option for customer to receive invoice as a spend money transaction
For my clients that I have on Xero, I would like to use the Xero Network Key send through my invoices as Spend Money transactions instead of Bills.
Similarly, I would like to receive invoices from Xero through my Xero Network Key as a Spend Money instead of a bill that I import/approve.
3 votesHi community, we appreciate your feedback here. While we have enabled Xero to Xero within new invoicing we want to be open that we don't have plans for developing the ability to send invoices to create spend money transactions in a recipients organisation.

Invoices - Unapprove option
Ability to unapprove invoices once it’s already approved.
Purpose: it’s easier to have this feature if users approved the wrong invoices by mistake.
510 votesThanks for everyone's support in this idea. We understand the strong feelings expressed in your comments, where an invoice can be accidentally approved when still needing to go through a review or remain in a draft status.
As suggested by some users in this thread, if this has already occurred an option for now would be to add a note to the history of the invoice so other users are aware of the action and what needs to be done, or alternatively Void the invoice and copy to a new Draft invoice (consider if you need to change the invoice # before voiding the approved one, so you can use this on the new draft invoice).
While not a resolution for this idea, to avoid mistakenly approving an invoice an option could be to make use of the keyboard shortcuts that are now available in invoicing such as Save &…

Quotes - Title and Summary to flow through to Sales Invoices
Ability to make quote’s title and summary flow through to Sales Invoices.
Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary when the quotes are converted into invoices.
241 votesHi everyone, we acknowledge your strong interest in this feature, and how enabling 'Title' and 'Summary' fields from a Quote to automatically carry over when you convert it to a Sales Invoice would add more context for your customers.
In lieu of this feature directly, to include this information on your invoices you could currently copy & paste as a description only line within your invoice, or copy into the contents of your email when sending the invoice.
However, we understand this is an extra step that you'd like to eliminate to improve work flow and consistency between quotes and invoices.
We want to be transparent about the current situation. While we appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this impacts your businesses, there are no plans to develop this idea at this time.

Contacts - Custom fields on invoices and contacts
Ability to add a custom fields to a contact record that is able to be displayed on invoices
Purpose: Ability to include more information that’s unique to customers/business/industry that assist the transaction and relationship between customers
676 votesHi everyone, we’ve taken time to review the suggestion to include custom fields for both invoices and contacts, and recognise the value it'd bring in helping users capture more detailed information and avoid manual processes.
However, with other focuses drawing the teams attention such as multiple addresses this idea is not on our current development roadmap.
As we continue to plan future roadmaps, being highly supported this idea will continue to be considered, however we want to be open about it's current position with you all here. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and for your ongoing participation in the Xero community. Any changes to this status will be shared with everyone on this idea.
