  1. New quote screen has created a lot of extra steps in creating quotes
    i.e.
    - moved buttons out of intuitive workflow space
    - save button now hidden at top right instead of at bottom of quote
    - quote numbers less visible once saved
    - sending a saved quote takes a lot more steps

    Understand the need for new framework but the workflow changes have made creating quotes longer and more complicated. Thanks.

  2. Add the tick box in Sales Overview > Invoices > ALL tab

    We want to bulk upload all invoices for the week in 1 file regardless of the status (paid/unpaid). We couldn't at the moment because of the absence of the tick boxes in the ALL tab.

    Rounding back on your idea here, Abigail - It'd be good to get more understanding of your business flow and why you'd be wanting to create invoices of another status. For example is here a specific reason you'd like to import invoices that have already been paid for? Could these potentially be entered as Receive monies or is there a reason they need to be raised in Xero once they've already been paid? TIA 

  3. In the old quote version, when adding an item it would search just by the item code which was great.

    Now it searches and displays even in the item description, so now end up with a big list to scroll through with description also showing, and especially as the font is bigger.

    Any chance this can be looked into and item search just looks at item code/name, without searching and displaying description,?

  4. Since the new quote format was launched, we are no longer to insert a blank line in our quotes at the beginning of a new item. Previously, this allowed us to space out the quote a little so it didnt look too jumbled and allowed us to space the quote neatly over two pages instead of just having a line of a quote on the second page if it didnt all quite fit on the first. Please put it back to how it was and allow us to insert blank lines at the beggining of an item.

    Hi all, upon revisiting here we'll re-open this idea. 

    As you may have found - While possible to add a new line and drag & drop this to where you'd like it to sit in a quote. Once saved, blank lines that have no data in any field will disappear and lines with detail will condense. 

    Apologies for the earlier misunderstanding and we appreciate those who've feedback on the idea here too. 

    There aren't any direct plans for changing this behaviour for now. We have a keen eye on the interest here so please add your support through votes and importance. 

    For the time being, if you'd like to add a blank line in your quote you'll need to enter a character in the description field of the line - This could just be a hyphen or full stop 

  5. 1) When creating a draft invoice, and draft invoice is emailed out, it would be good to see from the 'home' page in the 'draft' folder, which invoices have been emailed. This could simply be an icon of an envelope, for example, that shows on the right hand side when the invoice has been emailed (yes even in draft form).
    2) When viewing an invoice, a 'previous/back' and 'next' button to move to the next sequential invoice number (either forward or back) would be great, rather than having to back to 'draft' or 'awaiting payment' folder and then selecting next…

    Hi Katrina, coming back across your idea here I notice there are 2 distinct ideas wrapped into the one. 

    We try to keep one idea per thread to make it clear for others to know what they're voting for and be able to share this information back with our product teams. 

    When you say next and back buttons - would this be when only viewing an invoice (not taking any action)? Reason being, is that there are Save and Approve options from the drop down that'd allow you to move onto the next invoice in the list or add a new one - More detail on this here

    I'll slightly adjust the title here to reflect your first idea, but are welcome to start another if the current approve and next options are sufficient and we can get a feel for the interest around that separately. 

  6. Include the payment dates and payments made when sending invoices to clients.
    Currently once the invoice is downloaded or sent to client, it shows the total amount paid, but not broken down by date as per the screen shot i have attached. Currently it only shows «InvoiceTotalNetPayments»

  7. On the invoice template a mandatory field to be completed of the business email address. Majority on Xero invoices sent don't have an email address which makes it difficult to contact the business via email.

    Thanks for the confirmation, Andrew and Sue. While it's possible to add the organisations email in the Contact details field of a Standard branding theme, and could be inserted as Static text on an Advanced template, appreciate there is no specific field for this atm, and why you may like to make this mandatory or a default on the template.

    We'll leave your idea for making this mandatory here and you may like to also join this idea for providing as a specific field for this in advanced templates. Being open it's not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll keep an eye on the interest here and share if there's any plans made.

  8. Improve Text Formatting - Invoicing

    • Ability to change all text to caps, lowercase or sentence case (like Microsoft word feature) to enable more consistent, professional invoicing in less time. For example when adding multiple billable expense lines.

    • Ability to sort invoice lines by the headers, i.e. description (alphabetically), by price or amount high-low etc.

  9. Add payment method to the main screen

    If a Payment Method was on the main Invoice Awaiting Payment screen, maybe next the sent icon this would make things so much easier, you can also see clearly who is on Direct Debit.

    Hey everyone, we're excited to announce we have a new Workpapers solution in development that'll improve accessibility and collaboration for accounting practices, solving for the needs in the idea here. You can read more on this from our Xero blog.

    It'll be a phased release, starting with Australia and expanding to other regions in 2026. I'll keep you updated here on it's release.

  11. Apportion payment to specific line items on invoices. This would allow you to choose where to apply the payment, making it possible to have invoices with multiple payments to have the sales taxed/no sale tax payment correctly and just not proportionally.

  12. As it stands the "template" is largely superficial, whereas a template should be meaningful.

    When I think of invoice templates, I think: unit prices, quantities, etc... much like your "repeated invoices" except the repeated invoices don't include dynamic dates. Monthly billing for a team is a nightmare.

    So either expand the templates to include meaningful features, or add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices. Preferably the second option so I don't have to constantly rebuild invoices for my team.

  13. Invoice templates should not be in the "settings" but in the actual part where the invoices are, this is product development 101 stuff guys seriously...

    Adding/altering/deleting invoice templates should be accessible right from within the sales overview and invoice section. I shouldn't have to google for this stuff, it's really quite terrible.

  14. Stop repeating invoices being changed to draft when the author/owner/user that added it has been deleted.

    Right now when a repeating invoice template has been created by a user who has since been deleted, the repeating invoice template option will be reverted to 'save as draft'.

  15. To add a tick box when converting from quote to invoice to keep quote date and not for it to default to today's date. Similar to the option to mark as invoiced or not. It would be great if the date does not default today's date if it is revised but stay on the original quote date. Once the quote is accepted and it is converted to an invoice, we please need the ability for the quote to stay on the original quote date and not to default to today's date.

  17. Repeating Invoice: Sales Overview Screen - add a Last Updated Date to the Overview Screen

    Purpose: We use repeating invoices for the Auto Pay feature but most invoices need some form of adjustment before being sent each month. With a list of repeating invoices that goes on for pages it would be great to see the last date/time each invoice had been updated so that if you are interrupted during the monthly updating you can tell where you are up to when you come back to the Sales Overview screen, rather than needing to keep track of this somewhere else.

  19. At the moment the only option to allow us to offer Auto Pay via Stripe is to set recurring invoices to "approve for sending". Clients receive an email from Xero when their invoice is ready and an email with the payment confirmation linking to the paid invoice and their receipt. Clients on a subscription do not need to get the initial invoice and this confuses many of them. I would like the option to disable sending the invoice when Auto Pay is active, where the only email they receive is the payment confirmation.

  20. When an invoice in emailed in Workflowmax it is marked with a tick as “Sent”, however this does not carry through to Xero. Is it possible to add this feature so that invoice payment reminders in Xero automatically work without the need to manually change the invoice status to “Sent”?
