and yet, 7 years later you are still giving them money. I don't see any incentive for them to make these changes. It's why i switched over to Quikcbooks, their estimate system allows everything like attaching documents, CIS accounting, etc. I still have to keep my old access for Xero due to them not having any read only database option... so they continue taking my money too!

We raised this back in 2019 after switching to Xero from Quickbooks.
We HAVE to show CIS on quotes, not an option.

Xero, please stop making unnecessary changes to the menus or the way Xero looks and start work on something that is actually useful! So many people have said this is causing them to switch accounting software, surely that should make it a priority for you?? If it's possible to raise a sales invoice with CIS reflected, why can't you update the settings so that clients can raise quotes in the same way?! Obviously when quoting for a job a customer needs to know that it is under CIS and therefore what the subcontractors CIS Status is and what the VAT treatment is going to be.
Please help us with this, it will make such a difference to our clients.

Why is this functionality not available when you can raise invoices in Xero with CIS applied? Customers want to have a quote that reflects these deductions.

Not sure how this is not possible!! A lot of our clients CIS clients and we are setting them up on Xero but already having to give work arounds on their quotes. It makes no sense that you cant use CIS codes on a quote.

We used to type in the description as CIS Labour, etc. But now we just use Quickbooks which allows CIS acounting on quotes.

Can I ask, what does everyone do? We are new to all this and business and completely confused to what we can even input for a quote to reflect that it will be CIS reversal without confusion.

I know how to do it on invoices etc but want to be as transparent as possible on quotes.

I switched to Quickbooks. Their quote system allows CIS accounting, and also allows project attachments, quote that carry attachments all the way through to invoicing too. I don't know whjy Xero consistently ignores community feedback on these topics.
Sadly, I still have to pay for my login credentials at a reduced capacity to close off my year end accounts.

Allow for CIS on quotes. At present you cannot select the CIS labour sales nominal on a quote so you cannot send out a quote with CIS on it.
1 - the quote does not show the CIS
2 - when you convert the quote the nominal code needs to be change to CIS labour

This would be so helpful. I have clients struggling to use Xero, and not being able to have a straightforward quote to invoice system is going to make it a real challenge for them.

We have been using the quotations system when we are generating applications for payment to main contractors as these need to be fluid until the main contractor has agreed the figure for the month.
Being able to show the breakdown on each cost between labour and materials, CIS deductions, Main Contractor Discounts and Retentions is a massive help to us and it saves us having to edit an invoice to the main contractor as this process can sometimes have amendments for a couple of weeks.

Come on Xero help us out here and let us have the facility

Hi Matt, it's a good idea to add a time stamp to your comment. Xero had an older forum for these ideas where they simply removed time stamps from all comments to hide that there was no progress for many years on many upvoted topics, especially those related to CIS and Projects.

Just a heads up, there has been NO updates on either CIS or Projects modules since 2020. It seems VERY unlikely they will ever implement this since it's only applicable to the UK, and only to a smaller percentage of UK users who are CIS registered. I strongly suspect we are a minority that receives no further updates.

I should also add to this that this feature was requested years ago and had a similar upvote number on the old Community.xero feature request forum.
