Sales Invoice | Delivery address - Update for individual invoice

Delivery Address:

To have the ability to add a delivery address when raising an invoice that can be printed onto the invoice. This would need to permanently save the delivery address to that invoice. When a new invoice to the same customer is raised then have the ability to enter another delivery address if required without effecting the previous invoice delivery address.

Hi community, we appreciate the comments about your needs in this idea.

We get the importance of being able to set a delivery address for an individual invoice and have that address remain tied to that invoice, without overwriting the delivery details on past invoices or changing the default details for the contact.

With a clear understanding of the risks in altering historical invoice delivery details and delving into the wide range of workflows this feature would support, we want you to know this is something we’re looking to solve.

We have a larger project around being able to support multiple addresses per contact in invoicing, and as part of this we’ll be enabling the ability to update delivery address details on an invoice-by-invoice basis.

There are few steps for us to get through before we can deliver and get this in your hands but I’ll be sure to share more news as we can here. Thanks!

    It is unacceptabled to nothave the ability to add a delivery address when issuing an invoice Delivery address should be saved to the specific invoice.We are a company that has customers with many different shippong address When a new invoice to the same customer is issued we should have the ability to enter a different delivery address without this effecting the previous invoices' delivery address.

    I would not have changed to xero if I knew this prior!! this is such an issue for my business as I have many customers who send to different addresses. I just want to enter a delivery address for an invoice and not have it change every invoice delivery address prior to that!!!

    Option to finalise a sales invoice with delivery address.
    Currently Xero is rolling forward the delivery address within a sales invoice, which means if you want to reprint an invoice it will automatically show the latest delivery address entered on the latest invoice therefore the wrong delivery address will show if you are using various thus making the reprint wrong and you need to go back into the invoice and amend. Can we not have an option to finalise a sales invoice with the correct addresses?

    However the address does not stick with the invoice if re printed at a later date.
    It changes to the latest edited address.
    This is not an effective change.

    We have clients who send us to jobs at different addresses on a daily basis.
    How can Xero not have a feature to update invoices automatically from a work order?

    I am extremely disappointed with Xero as I was not informed of their inability to change the delivery address on invoices before switching from MYOB. I strongly believe that this is unacceptable and I am currently considering if I should switch back to MYOB.

    Does Xero plan on changing this feature to that when updating address on an invoice it doesn't automatically update the delivery address for that contact on all previous invoices?

    This is very important to know.

    As accounting software i cannot get my head round why this is not standard, every month getting chased for POD and you have to spend most of the time trying too match and updating originals sent - Ending in late payments by customers- If Xero do not fix i am going elsewhere

    I agree that it is very important to have the option to change delivery addresses on individual invoices without this effecting previous invoices. Our customers request deliveries to alternative addresses and Xero should not be updating historical invoices. I am disappointed that Xero do not have the ability to make this change as other accounting software providers do provide this service.

    This would be a great for a lot of my clients that have delivery addresses that change and need to be recorded with each invoice

    It boggles the mind that this isn't a standard feature. Knowing where goods were sent to on an invoice is so fundamental how did it ever get implemented this way.

    Even POs have an address on them, it makes no sense come on Xero.

    This is abolutely critical to some of my customers and will save a lot of time and also ensure accuracy of historical data.

    We have addresses that change every time for the same contact and having separate contacts for this is not feasible.

    This would be a great addition as i work in the construction industry and our products are sent out to different sites, the delivery address is always different from the billing address.

    Have a delivery address box in the Invoice area instead of having to click the customer then click to add delivery address,
    I have clients that have over 200-1000 properties they manage and each and every invoice i am having to waste this time

    Unfortunately there is no field to amend an address while creating an invoice.
    This would mean going into the contact every time and changing the address over and over before raising an invoice. Not a practical solution. And would the address change when re-printing an invoice in that case?
    So at this stage I am unable to use Xero for my tradie clients with various once off customers. A 'site' field or 'delivery address' field on the invoice would help. Something for your developers to contemplate.

    Different 'shipping' or 'site' address on individual cash sale invoices. Eg for numerous cash sale customers invoiced once off by a tradie. Could be 6-8 a day. Use a single Miscellaneous customer file and change name/address on each invoice instead of having to create a new customer for every once off invoice.
    Also being able to report on site addresses on invoices to export to Google maps for pinning customer locations for marketing purposes.
