Sales Invoice - Show associated Project name on the invoice

Currently, while raising the invoice, it is not possible to show the project names in the invoice above the works done. The works indicated in the invoice should be linked to the project and this project name should be shown in the invoice.

Thanks for your continual support and engagement here, we want to apologise it's taken so long for us to respond.

You’ve explained the need in displaying the related Project name on an invoice clearly and your feedback here is really helpful.

While we don’t currently have this work roadmapped, our product team's looking more broadly at how invoices can include richer information. This idea will be part of that consideration as the work develops.

Though we can’t commit to development of projects on invoices at this stage, we wanted to acknowledge the feedback here and let you know we will make more efforts to share any updates on this idea as that broader work progresses.

    I was just in the process of moving my invoicing over to Xero when I discovered this. I'm disappointed there is no function to include a project name on an invoice. Such a basic requirement for billing and for it not even to be roadmapped adds to the disappointment.

    This is such a basic request and it has been ignored for over 3 years. XERO charges like 40% more for the PROJECTS feature and they can't even add the project field.

    This would literally take someone 2 hours to update at the most, but instead they just let it be. Status Quo.

    I've a client considering moving to Xero from MYOB who runs hundreds of individual Projects each year, and being able to display the Project Name on an invoice is a critical matter to the client. With no functional way to include that on the PDF invoice, they'll stay with MYOB.

    This is crucial for our project invoicing when sending multiple invoices for multiple customers weekly.
    The project is displayed on screen, why can't it show on the PDF invoice.
    Please make this a priority or at least give us a custom field like the reference field.

    I agree with this. All our sales invoices are linked to a project so its crucial the project name/number is showing on the invoice

    Please add this. At the very least, allow us to add a Custom Field or "Project" field and manually insert a project name.

    It is expected and essential that project name is included when a project invoice is created! Our customers have multiple projects, invoiced separately.

    I support this request. Can Xero enable the quote tile from accepted quotations be transferred to Invoices automatically when quote is converted to Invoice? This saves time and eliminates confusion with our clients.

    I agree. I contract to a large entity across multiple projects and they require my invoice to be split across each project. Would be a huge timesaver for me if we could choose project as a field to display on the invoices.

    Unbelievable that something this basic doesn’t already exist. Seems to be a theme with Xero :(

    When I create draft invoices in ProWorkFlow, and then send them to Xero for finalisations, the project name appears on my invoice.
    I am now experimenting with Xero Projects, in hope that it will be a one-stop-shop for timekeeping and invoicing. But I am disappointed to find, as indicated by others, that invoices created directly from Projects do not contain the project name on them. If is is possible for PWF-origin invoices created in Xero, it should be possible for the native invoices.

    This would be very helpful. Obviously the data is there, the info shows up in the draft invoice in line items. Please add.
    The Projects add-on is supposed to be a simple bolt-on without the bells and whistles, but including the name of the project at least an option or placeholder seems like a basic requirement.

    A basic lack of functionality here, any business I invoice needs to reconcile invoices to their official purchase order. I run projects with a year lifespan and do my task/hourly based invoices on a monthly basis - and having to manually input the PO/reference is a pain and leaves room for error.

    I've setup custom templates and used the reference as the Purchase order, however when the client will recieve them, the accounts or client won't know what project the PO# relates to and will cause them work to find out and then pay. Insane that this is not a feature. It an easy addition for mailmerge field, as it's already shown on the invoice dashboard.
