Notification | Send to REPLY TO email when quote accepted
When a customer accepts a quote via the link the email is sent to the users email address - suggestion is to have it sent to the REPLY TO email address and / or the USERS address.
204 votesHi team, I know it's been sometime since this idea was initially raised and we wanted to update you all here.
We appreciate and understand why some businesses would prefer the acceptance of a Quote be sent to the organisation's reply to email address, rather than the user that initially created the Quote.
While our product team have reviewed and are attentive to your interest in this, we want to be upfront that this is not something we currently have direct plans for changing the behaviour of.
Our team will continue to review this idea and when we're in a position to assess notification and communications for Quotes, we'll share if there are any updates around this, here.

Quotes - Ability to request signature
Instead of having the client simply click on "Accept" quote, they should be prompted to actually digitally sign the quote. If there is for example two people as the contact, then both of these owners need to sign the quote for it to be accepted.
35 votesThanks for the idea, Pilar. It'll be good to get sense of the appetite for this here.
While this isn't something we have planned at present, perhaps you could make use of an advanced branding template and specifying the need for a signature via the Quotes terms and conditions?
We have a discussion around customising with docx. templates where others in community often help one another - you're welcome to join

Quotes - Autosave
Hi
Would love to see the autosave available for Quotes. Often my clients are distracted whilst creating Quotes and when they've navigated to another section (rather than opening a new Xero tab), the Quote disappears!
For one of my clients, his quoting is very detailed and this process takes valuable time which he'd rather not have to repeat if the Quote is no longer there.
Invoices are autosaved of course, once a Contact is entered, so I would assume that the same principle could easily be applied to Quotes....
Thanks!58 votesHi team, while we understand the desire for auto-save in quotes here, we want to be open that we don't have plans for changing the current save behaviour for quotes for the time being. While seemingly simple there is a fine balance in creating a save experience that'll suit majority of users. As some may have seen with new invoicing that has auto-save implemented, we've received wide ranging response for this feature, and there is more work needed to fine tune.
To confirm the current experience, when creating quotes in Xero you'll want to select the Save button before navigating elsewhere in your org, or leaving the page to ensure the contents of your quote is saved.
If there are any intentions of changing how save works in quotes, we will surely let you know on the idea here. Thanks

Quotes - Support for quotes with rates but no quantity
Ability to remove value from online quote. This will allow templated quotes to be used where a total value isn't used and individual pricing is set per task. Dependant on the job there are specific rates per brick etc. Which is calculated at the end of a job bet the rate is set at the start therefore we need people to accept our quote (rates) but the total (quantity) wouldn't be determined until job completion.
16 votesHi community, while we appreciate your idea here we want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this change any time in the near term.
If you'd like to enter a quote with rates and no quantity an option could be to specify the detail of the calculation for jobs in the 'Summary' field.
You could set up a separate branding theme to be used specifically for your quotes to alter which fields are shown, and when entering the amounts you'd use the Price field to signal the rate and leave the Qty. field as '0'. This means you'll still have a price set per line of your quote but the total amount of the Quote would be '0' and determined at the completion of the job when you copy the quote to an invoice and enter the Qty.

Quotes - Automatically add attachments when emailing
We have to disclose certain information when issuing quotes and it would be very helpful if we could choose a template that automatically adds documents to our quotes as instead we have to; create the quote; process it; go back into the quote; attach the files and then send this out to the client. We only have 1 business manager and this is very time consuming for them as their time could be spent elsewhere.

Quotes - Ability to create multi-section quote
Multiple sections in a single quote with their own separate totals.
Purpose: when quoting on similar products with different pricing to present to a client, with their own separate totals. Currently, we have to send a separate quote to the same client which means they're receiving multiple emails from us.

Quotes: Hide line item cost
When we create quotes we do not want the individual cost to be sent to the client as we may increase or decrease price depending on actual needs. Therefore I would like to send a quote with all the products/services itemized but not individual cost just a TOTAL?
30 votesHi team, thank you for sharing how this feature could improve your use of Quotes in Xero.
While it takes a little work in setup, you could currently use an advanced branding theme and make changes to the docx template to remove fields you don't want shown to the customer.
Being open this isn't something we have direct plans for developing right now, however we'll continue to track the appetite her and share if there are any updates.

Quotes - Make tax rate and account code mandatory
It would be great to make the tax rate (and account code) mandatory when creating quotes. This is a fail safe way of ensuring the gst is correct on quotes.
23 votesAppreciate different businesses operate differently when setting up and approving deals. Some businesses specifically leave off detail from quotes for their own circumstance too.
Imagine this'd need to be an optional org setting, and not something we have plans for right now but we'll get a sense of the interest here.

Quotes - Undo option
Undo option in quotes, invoices etc. When you write int he description field sometimes it gets deleted by mistake and then you ahve to write it all out again. The option to just have an undo button to go back would be so good.

Short Term Cashflow - Add Quotes
Would be great to be able to add an expected win date on a quote so that it can show in the short term cashflow (STC)feature. Would save adding it manually again via the Add incoming outgoing money feature option.
All the details are present just need to make it presented to the STC. If it's won then it changes status. If lost it's removed from the forecast.5 votes -
Quotes - Ability to set default for Discount by % or amount
While it's nice to be able to enter a fixed value discount in our business we use % discounts only. We find the new quote discount field feature that requires a % for the discount or it defaults to $ amounts is causing us to make errors. This is especially confusing as it use to default to % and the invoice still does. I have a couple of suggested updates:
- Create a site wide setting to choose whether your default is $ or %.
- Include a dollar symbol when it is a fixed amount discount to highlight it's…31 votes -
Quotes - Attach PO to approved quote
PO to approved quote. My customers want to add their PO number and possibly an attachment upload to an approved quote when they select approve on the link. This should be very simple to fix. Also, then this would give us more capabilities in the approval process by allowing documentation to be added to the quote directly from the customer. This way it will tell me when I invoice them what PO was on the order. Also, they were asking for a place to put notes as well. They have notes on a reject but not approve.

Quotes: Generate as legal 'Estimate' instead of quote
I believe being able to update all fields to show the word Estimate rather than Quote would be extremely beneficial. I have been able to update all except for the wording of Online Quote Link

Quote | History - View accepted by email/contact name
It would be helpful to be able to track who accepted a quote in the history and notes. The customer could have emailed the quote to another party within their organization who accepted the quote on their behalf and we have no way of showing accountability for this.

Quotes - Add payment link
Add a payment link to quotations so clients can pay on a quotation as well as an invoice.
Purpose: This would allow clients to pay on the quotation sent.

Quotes - Access to contacts and adding details
There is a difference between the functionality of new quote page and the old one.
On the old quote page, when a new contact was entered and the quote was saved, you could then click directly on the contact field which was linked to the contact page. This allowed you to quickly add additional info (email address, phone number, etc). This made emailing the quote quick and easy.
On the new form, after you save the quote the contact name remains in edit mode.... so you cannot click on it to get to the contact page. There is no link…
