  1. Quotes need the ability to either show the VAT content or not. Depending on the type of business you are dealing with at the time i.e domestic or Commercial. Generally domestic clients want to know the total cost including tax (VAT) whereas on a Commerical clients are not bothered as it is generally assumed or stated plus VAT.

  2. When quoting items, customers need to know when the quoted items would be available.

It could be that the item is available ex stock or that there is a lead time to the item of days, weeks or months.

This is a common occurrence in the industrial sector.

Each item on the quote could have a different lead time, whether it is an item or service that is quoted.

The information is important to the customer for operational, as well as cashflow purposes. M

  4. With PayNow, we want the customer to use our stripe and pay on the quote. The idea behind this is that customer pays and then we send the product and issue the invoice. If we issue the invoice and then customer changes mind and doesn't pay, it will be a problem and we need to delete the invoice. So, adding Pay Now to the quote will solve this problem.

  6. We are a professional services company and use the quote feature to outline our objectives, scope of work and deliverables for a potential new project. As such, we use the summary window to enter all this information.

It would be very useful for us to be able to resize the summary window to view a larger portion of the text. Some of our descriptions can run to several paragraphs and as such, the ability to review more text would be incredibly useful.

I hope this can be implemented with some simple coding.

    Thank you.

  7. Create a accept quote button/link within the quote email template so clients can hit the button within their email client to accept quotes instead of having to view it online or missing it within the attached PDF quote.

  8. Ability to remove value from online quote. This will allow templated quotes to be used where a total value isn't used and individual pricing is set per task. Dependant on the job there are specific rates per brick etc. Which is calculated at the end of a job bet the rate is set at the start therefore we need people to accept our quote (rates) but the total (quantity) wouldn't be determined until job completion.

Hi community, while we appreciate your idea here we want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this change any time in the near term.

If you'd like to enter a quote with rates and no quantity an option could be to specify the detail of the calculation for jobs in the 'Summary' field.

You could set up a separate branding theme to be used specifically for your quotes to alter which fields are shown, and when entering the amounts you'd use the Price field to signal the rate and leave the Qty. field as '0'. This means you'll still have a price set per line of your quote but the total amount of the Quote would be '0' and determined at the completion of the job when you copy the quote to an invoice and enter the Qty.

  9. Since the new quote format was launched, we are no longer to insert a blank line in our quotes at the beginning of a new item. Previously, this allowed us to space out the quote a little so it didnt look too jumbled and allowed us to space the quote neatly over two pages instead of just having a line of a quote on the second page if it didnt all quite fit on the first. Please put it back to how it was and allow us to insert blank lines at the beggining of an item.

Hi all, upon revisiting here we'll re-open this idea.

As you may have found - While possible to add a new line and drag & drop this to where you'd like it to sit in a quote. Once saved, blank lines that have no data in any field will disappear and lines with detail will condense.

Apologies for the earlier misunderstanding and we appreciate those who've feedback on the idea here too.

There aren't any direct plans for changing this behaviour for now. We have a keen eye on the interest here so please add your support through votes and importance.

For the time being, if you'd like to add a blank line in your quote you'll need to enter a character in the description field of the line - This could just be a hyphen or full stop

  10. New quote screen has created a lot of extra steps in creating quotes
    i.e.
    - moved buttons out of intuitive workflow space
    - save button now hidden at top right instead of at bottom of quote
    - quote numbers less visible once saved
    - sending a saved quote takes a lot more steps

Understand the need for new framework but the workflow changes have made creating quotes longer and more complicated. Thanks.

  12. Applying Mark up in Quote - Ability to hit 'apply mark up' and select specific costs / folders that the mark up is applied for. Ie labour costs are not based off markup but the products are. If you hit 'apply mark up' the markup gets applied to every single cost.

Rounding back on the idea here it sounds like using non tracked inventory could be a solution.

In Products and services you can add items and enter a Purchase price and a Sales price for the same item.

This means you can add the marked up price for Sales and when you select the item in Quotes or Invoices this price will be reflected for the line item.

Alternatively, you could add a discount to lines of your invoice if there is a general amount or % by which you would mark up items.

Keen to hear your feedback for these options.

  13. Why can't we search quotes by title? It would be so useful and its so overlooked by the design team. I have loads of jobs for one client and I have to sift until I find it rather than search my the job name. Please Zero!

  14. Please consider adding templates in your quoting section , this is a simple but extremely helpful and time saving tool to have when quoting , saves huge time and at the end time is money.

The inventory items in the templates need to automatically update with latest prices when utilized.

Really hope you consider this …

  15. The upgraded Quotes layout does not allow me to attach pdf's from the Files Section.
The only way to do this now is to download pdf from Files. Open Quote and Save it. Upload pdf.

This has significantly slowed down the workflow - please can Xero Quotes be able to add attachemnts from Files and before Saving.

  17. To add a tick box when converting from quote to invoice to keep quote date and not for it to default to today's date. Similar to the option to mark as invoiced or not. It would be great if the date does not default today's date if it is revised but stay on the original quote date. Once the quote is accepted and it is converted to an invoice, we please need the ability for the quote to stay on the original quote date and not to default to today's date.

  20. I would like to suggest creating quotes in multiple currencies should be the same as setting the exchange rate. As currently when we choose another currency when creating a quote, while the exchange rate still appears as the custom rate, the exchange rate that appears on the PDF is the default rate. We should all be on the same page.
