AU Payroll - Monthly payroll tax report
An automatic monthly payroll tax report would be fantastic. I've noticed Xero cannot do an automatic calculation of Payroll Tax like MYOB can. MYOB allows you to select pay categories (pay items) to exclude and run a monthly payroll tax report.
Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts on having a payroll report that calculates payroll state tax. We understand some of you are required to calculate tax across multiple states.
While we don't currently have a report which calculates earnings based on state, some of you have mentioned workarounds such as using the Payroll Activity Summary report. This report includes earnings totals and can be filtered by a date range and employee groups.
We recognise the value a report of this nature could have for our customers and it’s been added to the wider pool of ideas for our product team to consider for future development.
While it’s not on our immediate roadmap, we’ll be sure to keep you looped in if there’s any progress.

Custom Fields for Payroll Items - eg Item is included in Payroll Tax or Workcover remuneration or CoInvest reporting

This would make life so much easier, especially if you could collate at Year End if you only report yearly

@Arlene - as you will discover, Xero "support" is non existent. The idea of introducing features that customers actually needs is a fallacy. They just want things to look pretty, with functionality coming a poor last. Get used to having to use Excel to get any meaningful data ........

It would be great to be able to have such a report. Hoping this can be put to a higher level of need for your customers.
As Xero is used for payroll and accounting, it would be great to have one report that covers salary and wages and other components found in the P/L such as director fees etc. A one stop shop (report) would be fabulous

a payroll report that can be run by the states that employees are in. It will be great for payroll tax if company employs people across Australia

So - from Xero "support" .... "As you may be aware, currently, Xero Payroll doesn't calculate payroll tax automatically. It has not been included in our Xero Product and there are currently no plans to include this."
In other words - they want us to look for alternatives

Hear hear and hear. I just love having to download payroll data and save in excel every month, and use Crtl+F to find payroll items excluded from payroll tax .... when it was a one click report with Reckon Accounts.
