AU Payroll - Update so fixed amount bonus can be added and approved in timesheet
Currently employees can add into their timesheet a bonus or fixed amount pay item, but in Australia it seems Xero won't let the Payroll Approver actually approve a timesheet with a fixed amount item in it. So i have to take note if a certain employee is supposed to get a bonus this week, then delete it from the timesheet and then manually input it in the pay employees section.
There is so much room for error and employees risk missing out on wages they are entitled to. If Payroll needs to approve bonus why can't this be done when approving timesheets.

I am 100% in agreeance with Jessica Hall. I do not understand why this is not a standard feature. If the staff can include bonuses in their timesheets, why can't we approve them, without having to take note, delete and then manually add back when paying employees? If this is only an Australian issue, surely it can be fixed. It is a no-brainer. The fact that this was raised by Jessica but not updated, is ridiculous. It's timely and creates unnecessary risk for error, which could result in loss of pay, or overpay.
By the way, when I first struggled with this, our accountant spent so much time with Xero, trying to figure out why we couldn't approve, but they couldn't figure it out. They still charged us $600 for their time. It was purely coincidental that the Xero support person I had when I reached out personally happened to be sitting next to someone who knew about this glitch. It took me many hours (on top of the sting of $600) before it was solved - but not resolved. -
