AU Payroll - Delegated timesheet approvers
I have different managers responsible for different employee timesheets so therefore I would really like the ability to authorise specific managers to employees. Am still using mostly paper timesheets because of the massive deficiencies in the XeroMe ones (think is one of the many reasons).
I don't think its appropriate that anyone authorised can access all timesheets as it does nothing but create confusion and the potential to authorise the wrong ones. Also unnecessarily time consuming.

AU Payroll - Timesheets - Allow employee's to add notes in 'Total hours worked' setting
Inside Xero Me, when you set your Timesheet type to "Start and end times" you can add notes for working days.
It would be great if we could add notes when we have our Timesheet type set to "Total hours worked".
As an employee, not being able to add a note & select an earning type is inconvenient and can cause confusion which leads to slower timesheet approvals

UK Payroll: Pay apprenticeship levy through Xero
I have a client that needs to apply the Apprenticeship levy and this is not available on Xero Payroll as this is normally a function for large companies and not small companies that Xero are focusing on. This is a small company, but do form part of a large UK group therefore are sucked into reporting this to HMRC. Can this function be integrated into Xero payroll to be switched on when needed? AU Payroll - Change the formatting of the Employee Summary Report file name
Since the latest Payroll update there seems to be no functionality in Xero to change how the name of the Employee Summary report appears when saved. There are too many _ between words, for example: JoeBloggsPtyLtd-PayrollEmployee_Summary 4 June 2024.
So frustrating. Bring back the old style PDF format.

UK Payroll - Automatically include bank holidays and annual leave on Timesheets
Why can't Xero make editing a timesheet easier by automatically showing bank holidays and any days off that have been entered as holiday?
If the timesheet showed bank holidays or days where time-off has been allocated in a different colour or with an asterisk by the date then checking timesheets against time-cards would be much more straight forward.

AU Payroll - Option to add ETP Type D
We have had the unfortunate event of an employee pass away whilst still employed.
I would like to suggest that Xero make it easier for companies to be able to process a death benefit payment (ETP - type D) within the system rather than having to process this manually and then having to do journal entries for the system to balance correctly. And to then have to process paper copies of PAYG payment summaries to report this to the ATO.

AU Payroll - Show the number of notes in the Employee 'Notes' Tab
It would be good to see the number of notes in the Notes Tab (perhaps in brackets, for example: 'Notes (2)'), so you can see at a glance, if there are any notes for the Employee and if yes, how many.

UK Payroll: Option to have regular earnings as days instead of hours
Please can we have the option in Regular earnings to have pay items that can be setup with day units and not hours so taht it shows on payslip as number of days x rate.

AU Payroll - Ability to generate timesheet report for hours paid vs hours submitted
We are wanting to create a report for timesheet information for hours worked submitted by employees, that have been reviewed by their managers, i.e. rejected and unapproved overtime worked. The timesheet report only lists the paid hours. We would like to know the hours submitted by employees on their timesheets, versus the hours that were eventually approved and paid for. Are we able to create a custom report for this, to work out unapproved (as revised by the approver) overtime hours per employee, for a specific time period. AU Payroll - Update historic tracking when Employee Group is changed
It would be a great addition to be able to allocate employees to a particular employee group and from this run historical employee summary reports by employee.
At present when setting up tracking categories the tracking in employee reports will only track payruns once the employee groups are setup. Any historical payruns are not included. This makes it difficult to compare periods or look at employee group reports for the year to date.
There should be an ability to apply the employee grouping tracking to all or some of the historical payruns.

UK Payroll: Include employer pension contributions in employee opening balances
Have the ability to enter employer pension contributions in the opening balances when adding a new client to Xero. At present the resulting payslip is incorrect as the YTD employer pension figure only shows the current month and not YTD.

NZ Payroll - Specify leave approver
It would be great to be able to stream leave approvals by team so only a team leader gets to see/approve their own team rather than everyone's leave applications

AU Payroll - Turn off reminder to pay the employees and file the pay run
Allow us to turn off the pop up that shows when posting a pay run. I don't need reminders to pay the employees and file the pay run especially when I do payroll for 20+clients.

AU Payroll - Set organisation defaults for 'hours a full-time employee works in a Weekly pay period'
Many of my clients prefer a 37.5 hour work week (7.5 hours a day) to a 38 hour work week (7.6 hours a day).
I am able to set the leave accruals to a 7.5 hour day but the standard work week in "'Assign default leave types" is always 38 hpw and I have to manually change it to 37.5 to match the leave accrual.

UK Payroll - Notifications to disappear for all users once action has been taken
At the moment when one staff member accesses notifications on the main Xero dashboard and actions it i.e tax code changes the notification will not disappear for all users on the Xero subscription. It would be a good idea that this could disappear for all users once actioned to completion to ensure that work is not duplicated by two or three other staff checking that same notification.

UK Payroll - Notification when leave requests are created for the same date
Flag duplicate leave entries on the same day
We are extracting leave data through API to manage resourcing including leave booked. We have a few cases of employees with duplicate leave on the same day entered and approved in error. It would be great to see a flag or warning pop up to approvers and payroll admins where more than a standard number of hours leave is applied to a given day. UK Payroll - Set an end date for payroll deductions
I've just set up a salary sacrifice for a cycle to work scheme in payroll. However there isn't an end date in Xero so I have to manually diarise a date to stop the salary sacrifice for the employees. Please could a box be added to automate this.

AU Payroll - Option for Time off in Lieu (TOIL) to be exempt from superannuation
2 TOIL options, TOIL accrued & TOIL Accrued in place of Overtime
We are unable to mark a Time in Lieu Leave pay item as exempt from accruing SGC, which is not how the ATO classifies SGC for TOIL.
We suggest having 2 TOIL categories, so that there is the option for a TOIL where SGC is required to be paid and one wit SGC exempt:- when super is accrued on overtime.
24 votesJust a quick update on this XPI. While it's not possible to adjust the TOIL leave pay item to mark it as exempt from SGC as suggested, we can suggest an alternative approach that may assist.
If you use the Cashed Out option when raising a leave request for TOIL, it will be reported as Overtime and SGC not accrue on the leave taken.
Let us know if there are any circumstances where this approach wouldn't be suitable for your situation.
