UK payroll: Download individual P11s
It would be useful to be able to download/print the P11's for an individual instead of it being a bulk download.

AU Payroll - Enter Long Service Leve entitlements in "Weeks" not hours
I would like to enter Long Service leave balances visible to employees in "weeks" instead of "hours" as I want to avoid overstating or understating hours for those employees who have had varied hours over the course of their employment.
I do not want to have to do the long service leave calculations (as per the LSL legislation in Victorian) with each pay run to work out their average hours. When setting up the leave as a Pay item I can select it to be weeks but when I set up the employee it still only allows Hours.

Payment
I plan to use this data to organize and manage my business finances more efficiently. The information will help me track sales, expenses, invoices, payments, and overall business performance. I am building a system that will allow me to better understand cash flow, maintain accurate records, and make informed decisions as the business grows. The data will also help with bookkeeping, reporting, and improving the way I manage daily operations.

UK Payroll: Ceased Benefits YTD to remain on payslip
The year to date figure of any previous benefits (that have ceased during the tax year) should remain on the payslips for the whole of the tax year in which they were paid. For employees on a cumulative tax code, their year to date tax figure does not make sense without it. This should also be the case for previous pay elements (rather than grouping altogether into other payments), this is to keep a split of the taxable and non-taxable pay elements. Thank you!

AU Payroll - Hide earnings rate on employees payslip
Add option to hide hourly rate on full time employee pay slips where they are using the "Base Salary" pay item.

AU Payroll: allowance/other earning types to make up annual salary on payslip.
We have constant feedback that we are not paying people in full because the field Annual Salary Field doesn't include allowances
Can it be the Grossed up salary package?

AU Payroll - Process payroll from Xero accounting app.
Would love to be able to access payroll data and process payroll from ipad app. Instead of having to loggin into safari or google to lodge payroll. I can nearly use every aspect of my daily xero usuage through the app and then need to log in somewhere seperately to do payroll. To be able to do it on the app as well would be amazing

It allows you to monitor finances on the go like creating invoices, and reconciling transactions. Because it is a companion app, it doesn't include all of Xero's web features such as payroll.

AU Payroll: Automate Pay Runs
For any fixed salary employees, there should be an option to automate their regular (fortnightly/monthly) payruns. There's no reason why I need to manually create these for fixed salary employees.
Any changes to salary or leave balances etc are all managed separately via their respective employee records or leave requests.

Payroll AU: effective start and end dates for pay items on pay template
Can we please have the ability to add effective start and end dates against pay items. For example, a deduction may only be for 10 weeks at a set amount. Rather than having to setup multiple notes offline to remind us of this, can we have this function setup in the payroll system so it only deducts the amount over the set period specified.

Be notified via My Xero or Notification Alarm Bell of bounced or rejected auto super payments
New notification of bounced or rejected auto super payments for all Xero files we have access to, in a central area like "My Xero". This way we could check My Xero once a day to see if any payday super payments failed instead of sifting through emails and possibly missing the alert.

Payroll AU: Display the Full Pay Period in a Pay Run
Feature Suggestion: Display the Full Pay Period in Payroll
It would be extremely helpful if Xero could display the full pay period (From DD/MM/YY to DD/MM/YY) within the payroll pay window, rather than only showing the "Week Ending" date.
For example, instead of displaying:
Week Ending 05/07/2026
display:
Pay Period: Wednesday 29/06/2026 to Tuesday 05/07/2026
or
29/06/2026 – 05/07/2026I process payroll for multiple entities with different pay cycles and pay periods. Having the start and end dates clearly visible would make it much easier to confirm that the correct pay run is being processed, reduce the risk of errors,…

AU Payroll - Payroll Admin to create Time Sheet templates on behalf of employees
An Upgrade to the Timesheets function that would allow businesses to create permanent, personalised templates for individual employees.
Currently, timesheets need to be manually updated each pay period, which increases the risk of inconsistency and errors. Having the ability to set up fixed Earnings Rate descriptions as part of a permanent template would make timesheets more efficient, accurate, and tailored to each business.
For example, it would be very useful if a timesheet template could include pre-set lines such as:
Ordinary hours – Direct
Ordinary hours – Operating
Overtime hours (exempt from super)
Overtime hours (including super)
Overtime Mon–Sat –…

AU Payroll - Maximum leave accrual limit or expiry dates for leave types.
It would be good to make it possible to either set a maximum leave accrual, or set an expiry date for leave. An example where it could be used would be study leave. We have an agreement with employees that gives them 7 days of study leave per year. Any unused study leave is forfeited after two years. Currently we have to manually monitor and adjust the leave.

AU Payroll - Add additional Payroll employee for a charge
Please allow adding on an extra employee for payroll in Australia, as is possible in the UK.
The Ignite plan is enough for most small businesses and sole traders, but the jump in price just to add an extra employee means paying more than double, which is cost prohibitive.
Most businesses don't need the add on and accounting tools when you move up to Grow or Comprehensive - allowing for an extra payroll add on for a small charge, would be beneficial for family and small businesses.15 votesThanks for sharing your idea and highlighting how important flexible payroll options are for your business.

AU Payroll - Apply time tracking to the draft pay run rather than timesheet.
the ability to add dates and tracking categories and attaching them to a project. when entering pays from Payroll > Pay Employees. I know that a journal can be done after the fact, but that is time consuming. Much easier, simpler, faster to do when entering hours.

Separate annual leave paid out on termination from annual leave taken in the payroll activity summary report which would help for checking the correct super was paid and also for payroll tax purposes depending on the state.

Adding the employee basis somewhere on the pay employees pay run screen where it lists all the employees in the pay run have a column showing whether they are fulltime or casual etc.

confirmation email when payroll submitted
It would be awesome if I could get a confirmation email to my inbox when I submit my payroll. This way, when I panic because I don't remember if I did payroll or not, I can easily see in my email that I did. Just for peace of mind as well as a timestamp for when it's done.

Dynamic reporting. So users are able to select tables and can join multiple tables, add mathmatical functions and but date and fileters in this dynamic report. This way and average joe don't need to setup pipelines for simple repoting. The option to drag and drop ccolumns would be super helpful. Take field glass reporting as an example. Scheduling features to all of the reports would be a game changer, then suddnely, users can setup piplines through Xero GUI instead of tinkering with the API to get this working.
