UK Payroll > Provide a warning before you delete a timesheet line
When editing or approving timesheets there is an option on the right hand side of the timesheet line to delete. This is presented as a trash icon. when you press this for a particular week, it then subsequently deletes this line if all other weeks within the payroll period with no warning. Could you implement a simple warning message for a user to click ok advising them that this action will result on deleting that particular line for all weeks of the pay period. Screenshot attached.

UK Payroll - Working weeks in year default
I would like the facility to change the default number of working weeks in the year. We work to 52.14 weeks per year and as Xero works on 52 weeks as an unchangeable default, the minimum wage checks - a useful feature - become meaningless

NZ payroll - Create a shared Calendar
Integration of all employee leave taken with a shared calendar in outlook or calendar in Xero itself that everyone can view to see who is on leave and when.

Xero Me | Sync timesheets from Practice Manager (XPM)
This was originally raised in 2022. The request hasn't been acted on yet. The 2022 request is being closed due to lack of support.
However, the lack of support is likely to be an indication that current Xero Partners aren't using XPM for recording time, and/or aren't using Xero Payroll. XPM improvements over the past 18 months show that they are investing in that product. Xero Payroll has also been significantly improved in the last 18 month. If Xero wants it's Partners to go full Xero and by extension encourage our clients to go full Xero, then they have to…

UK Payroll: Ceased Benefits YTD to remain on payslip
The year to date figure of any previous benefits (that have ceased during the tax year) should remain on the payslips for the whole of the tax year in which they were paid. For employees on a cumulative tax code, their year to date tax figure does not make sense without it. This should also be the case for previous pay elements (rather than grouping altogether into other payments), this is to keep a split of the taxable and non-taxable pay elements. Thank you!

AU Payroll - Option to hide self onboarding tab
We have our own onboarding system and won't use the onboarding tab, it would be great to have the option to remove or hide this as its just in the way. I use current and past employees and click this by mistake frequently which I find very frustrating.

NZ Payroll - Auto accrual of alternative leave
Auto accrual of Alternative Leave - It would be great if there was a permanent payment item setup in Xero for public holidays worked, and when it is used Xero automatically accrued the alternative leave earned. Or at least make it more obvious that you have to manually adjust the alternative leave accrual in each pay.

UK Payroll - Add filters to all reports, i.e. leave overview and Auto enrollment.
It will be great to have meaningful payroll reports. E.g., the leave overview is a blunt tool, as it shows all employees, including those who have left. The same applies to the Auto Enrolment Summary Report - it is a basic on-screen report with no filters, etc. And, yes, includes historical employees. Where there are filters, these overlook some choices which should be present. E.g., wage type, which payroll runs are they- monthly, quarterly, weekly, etc

AU Payroll: Superannuation Accruals Report available in the Pay run
Could you please add the Superannuation Accruals report to the View Reports dropdown list in a payrun.
This will be a great inclusion to the report options once payday Super kicks in and for those already completing payday Super.
Adding this along with a Fast Click to Super payments from the payrun will make payday Super processes streamline for all.1 voteThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

NZ Payroll - Restrict which earnings rate an employee can select in timesheets
when using Xero Me in New Zealand to create timesheets, can only the assigned pay rates in the pay template be made available for the employee to choose from or create the self category to show the pay rates the employee has assigned, and team to show remaining like the Australian version of Xero does. Having to manually check employees have selected the correct pay rate on their time sheet every week is time wasted.

NZ Payroll - Customise descriptions on payslip
It would be beneficial for clients who pay commissions to be able to customise the description on the pay slip (rather than showing just 'Withholding Income') or having to set up various 'Pay Items'.

AU Payroll - Enter Long Service Leve entitlements in "Weeks" not hours
I would like to enter Long Service leave balances visible to employees in "weeks" instead of "hours" as I want to avoid overstating or understating hours for those employees who have had varied hours over the course of their employment.
I do not want to have to do the long service leave calculations (as per the LSL legislation in Victorian) with each pay run to work out their average hours. When setting up the leave as a Pay item I can select it to be weeks but when I set up the employee it still only allows Hours.
Can Xero…

NZ Payroll - Allow employee date of birth to be optional
Please remove the requirement to have a date of birth for an employee.
We have been asking for this to be removed for years, Xero recently told us it was an IRD requirement. We contacted our account manager at Inland Revenue and they said it is not an IRD requirement and that they have been in contact with Xero Payroll to make the field non-compulsory.
The workaround that Xero gives of adding a made up date does not work and causes issues where IRD send letters that the date of birth does not match that client.

AU Payroll - Change leave type while keeping existing information entered
When you go to enter a leave request manually (not employee entered), if you select the dates first, and then realise 'oh I meant this to be sick leave, not annual leave' and change the leave type, the dates 'reset' to current date, and don't retain the information you've already entered.
This means you can accidentally enter an incorrectly dated leave request, having done all the hard work of calculating the hours and dates, then realised at the last second that the 'type' of leave is wrong - everything resets!
I don't always work top-down, I want my work to…

AU Payroll - Option for Auto Super approval code sent to email instead of phone

9 votesHi Tayla. Thanks for sharing your idea for alternative methods to approve auto super batch payments.
We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.
In the meantime, both the current auto super approver and also the subscriber can change the auto super approver details, so if there is another user who could approve superannuation batches, this maybe a workaround if the current super approver is unable to.

AU Payroll - Option to deep archive employee records
Could a similar function that UK organsiations have to "deep archive" employees be rolled out to AU organsiations? This will assist to adhere to legal requirements of retaining employee records for 7 years.
2 votesAppreciate re-raising this idea here to see if there is renewed interest in being able to deep archive employee records.
We'll keep an eye on the support this receives here but want to be open that this isn't something we have plans for in the near term.
In the meantime, you may like to share this idea with any other colleagues that'd find this beneficial so they can support in this too.
