  1. When you view a payrun, the breakdown at the top shows: Earnings, Taxes, Superannuation, Net Pay, Status & Payment Date.
    When you view the details for any of the employees there is an additional field for Reimbursements at the top of the screen.
    It would be great if the reimbursements total was also shown on the pay runs summary screen to quickly review and identify the total.
    Especially when the clients run their own payroll and we are just reconciling.

  2. Since the latest Payroll update there seems to be no functionality in Xero to change how the name of the Employee Summary report appears when saved. There are too many _ between words, for example: JoeBloggsPtyLtd-PayrollEmployee_Summary 4 June 2024.

    So frustrating. Bring back the old style PDF format.

  3. Why can't the payroll be separate to Xero? I can't allocate Employee Groups because I've already got two tracking categories in use!

  4. Inside Xero Me, when you set your Timesheet type to "Start and end times" you can add notes for working days.

    It would be great if we could add notes when we have our Timesheet type set to "Total hours worked".

    As an employee, not being able to add a note & select an earning type is inconvenient and can cause confusion which leads to slower timesheet approvals

  5. Allow us to turn off the pop up that shows when posting a pay run. I don't need reminders to pay the employees and file the pay run especially when I do payroll for 20+clients.

  6. I need to be able to approve super when I am travelling and do not have access to text messages. It is most inflexible that there is only one method for doing this! Can the Xero Verify App not be used for auto super approvals too? Then I only need wifi.

    Or, can text be received to whatsapp instead?

    Thanks for sharing your idea for alternative methods to approve auto super batch payments.

    We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

    In the meantime, Auto super payments must be approved using the authorisation code sent via SMS.

    If needed, both the current approver and subscriber can update the approval details in the event the current approver is not available.

    Thanks for sharing your idea about employee timesheets. It's possible for employees to add tracking categories to timesheets when using the Total Hours Worked timesheet setting. However this isn't currently possible using the Start and End timesheet setting.

    Make sure you share this idea with your colleagues so they can add their vote and feedback. We'll let you know if there are any developments in this space.

  8. We have had the unfortunate event of an employee pass away whilst still employed.

    I would like to suggest that Xero make it easier for companies to be able to process a death benefit payment (ETP - type D) within the system rather than having to process this manually and then having to do journal entries for the system to balance correctly. And to then have to process paper copies of PAYG payment summaries to report this to the ATO.

  9. An option to automatically do a reversal of pay run that has been filed with STP as currently there is no option to allow this. I had a pay run today and the client had not let me know that there was a change to their pay run until after it had been lodged with the ATO. I subsequently went to the portal and found that both pay runs had been processed as was out to the actual amount in Xero.

  11. Approve employee leave requests directly from notification email.

    As a Leave Approver, I want to be approve or reject leave applications directly from the notification email so that I don't have to continually login.

  12. Enable full data import from external data source (say CSV) for all emplolyee data not just basic data. That would allow organisations with more staff to easily migrate to XERO without having to manually re-enter significant volumes of data.

    Hey team, we appreciate wanting to upload more employee details when setting them up. While we have recently released an updated process to bulk uploading employees, we want to be upfront that this only allows the bulk upload of basic fields such as names, dates of birth and addresses.

    This may be something we consider longer term and we would like to continue to track interest through the idea here.

    If there are any plans made we'll share an update with you all on this idea. Thanks

  13. Under the employees deductions sections during payroll, if one has salary sacrifice, child support, and any other deductions, you have to process the pay run initially. And then you would have to manually do a separate payment to a payee

    Is it possible to have a payee that can be linked to the payroll deductions. Meaning when you run your payroll, the deductions will go against the payee and when the payroll aba file is created, the payee will be included in that aba file

    Alternatively create a deduction for payroll that can be linked to a bank account. Currently…

  14. Ability to import the number of days of annual leave/other leave taken per employee for the month. It is very time consuming to manually add the leave taken for each employee when completing the payroll each month.

  15. When adding a new employee record, allow me to 'create new superannuation' during the process of creating their new record. Currently when adding a new employee record, I need to navigate away from the employee record to 'Settings > Payroll Settings > Superannuation' to add a new superannuation relationship. On the new employee record, when the pop up appears for superannuation, if you could add a spot to say 'Create New relationship' or something under the employee record - I'll buy you a beer.

  16. Currently you are able to select the tax scale Horticultural/Shearers but there is no default tax rate attached. Apparently if employee falls under this scale you need to select for reporting to ATO which means you have to then manually calculate tax when you do the pays which is not possible if you have multiple employees knowing which employee wants what rate as they all do not use the default. This also leads to errors if not picked up it doesnt calculate automatically. May I suggest that we urgently attention to have the default ATO tax scale rate included with…

  18. At the moment I am adding employee costs (wages) into xero projects.

    We have an option with bills to assign a project to that bill be awesome to be able to assign hours worked (with cost) to each of our projects in the timesheet section, and to set per line be good.

    eg;
    Monday project 1 - $250
    Tuesday project 2 - $300
    wednesday project 3 - $250

  19. REQUESTING LEAVE
    Firstly, when an employee is submitting a leave application, they are unable to adjust the number of hours they are taking when submitting this leave when the leave period is for more than one day. This is problematic for part-time employees that may work different hours on different days of their working week.

    Also, employees used to be able to see the number of hours taken but this is no longer the case - why is this?

  20. Unscheduled payruns - the ability to not include pending leave. When processing bonuses etc, Xero automatically puts in the up coming leave even though it is not appropriate to be included in this unscheduled payrun and should be in the standard payrun. Because we pay monthly this only exacerbates the situation. To have the option to not include the leave in that payrun would help with this.
