Dashboard - Edit dashboard layout
Dashboard- It would be great if Xero gave us more options to edit out Dashboards. Two colums are not enough, at the most I get to see four accounts before I have to scroll, they needn't be so large either. If they had three colums, and we could shrink the size of the 'boxes' then we could easily see a better snapshot of work to do and where the business is at.

As you may have seen or perhaps even have access to already - over the coming months we are releasing a new Xero Homepage that'll replace the existing Dashboard.
We've done lots of research and testing with our customers for the new homepage. You'll be able to customise to show which widgets you want, and it's built with updated technology so is much more responsive - adapting based on your device, screen size and zoom functions to show a maximum of 4 widgets side-by-side!

Xero Login - Enable Passkeys as a replacement to passwords
Passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/passkeys/) are rapidly taking over passwords and are infinitely more secure than passwords.

79 votesHi team, we've just launched passkeys to our first group of users. From this week, Xero Me app users who haven't set up MFA yet will be able to use passkeys to log into Xero. Next, we'll be progressively rolling this out to more users over the coming months. We look forward to and welcome your feedback here. As we have more news on the rollout I'll share with you on this idea.

Investing in AI
I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account.

User Role - Access to specific feature only
"Business and accounting" role needs ability to more narrowly define. I want an employee to access invoices (receivables) but that then gives them access to ALL financial reporting, e.g. P&L, which I don't want them to see.
488 votesHey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

Homepage | Account Watchlist - Change the order
On the dashboard, be able to reorder the accounts in the watchlist. At the moment they are shown by default in alphabetical order and can't be reordered.

You'll find with the new Chart of accounts watchlist widget you'll be able to reorder by any column in the watchlist 😊

Chat - Insights and actions
I'd like to see a chat /conversational interface like ChatGPT where we can ask it questions like
What was our profitability last month?
Where is our biggest opportunity to cost cut?If I want to get profit to $*** with the same revenues what areas should I focus on cutting the most?
The goal here is to have conversational chat with Xero to dig through the data that's there and find action items to improve the business finances.

MFA - Touch ID and Face ID verification
Implementing touch ID/Face ID verification for users to log into Xero.
Purpose: Users can have more variety on how to log in.
8 votesHi team, as another update surrounding passkeys we wanted to share that this week we've released passkey log in for Xero Me app users who haven't set up MFA yet. This is just the first stage, and over the coming months we'll progressively make this feature available to more users. I'll be back to share more as passkeys become available to more users.

User Role - Invoice Only + View Reports
Ability to assign a user where they can only have Invoice only and view only reports.
Purpose: To make user permission easier to set up, rather than having to upgrade them into Standard. As this will allow a user having access to more confidential reports.

User Role - Restrict access to individual bank accounts
To have the ability limit some users to access some bank accounts within Xero org.
Purpose: To limit some staff to not be able to see the information about the client’s bank balance.
666 votesHi everyone, I want to assure you your voice is heard here and feedback is being shared back with our product teams.
We understand the desire to get this idea moving along and as mentioned in our last update we know this is an area that more controls and permissions would be most beneficial to our customers.
We’d like to share progress that we’re making for banking permissions - Work to provide more controls of sensitive banking information has started and will initially include the ability to restrict users from seeing sensitive banking information such as; account balances, bank transactions, and financial summaries.
We know this doesn’t relieve all pain points of this idea - It’ll be the first phase, a stepping stone of sorts in the development of per-bank controls.

Login - Enable Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign On
Ability to use Azure Active Directory for MFA.
Purpose: It makes Microsoft users easily log into Xero.
675 votesHi everyone, we appreciate all the feedback and votes on this idea. We know using Microsoft Entra ID SSO is now common practice for some businesses and being able to access Xero via a native integration with Entra ID would streamline how your teams log in and get set up in Xero, as well as help in managing access for larger teams and keeping things secure.
Our product team have been working with a small limited group of Partners to develop SSO capabilities. Though we can't give any definite timelines yet, we’ll keep this thread updated with news. Thanks
