Navigation - Quick access to last few pages accessed
On the taskbar, it would be useful to have a dropdown option to link through to the last few pages that you have accessed. Maybe the last 10 pages accessed would be good, a mixture of recent searches and recent transactions. I know QBO has this and I use it a lot for navigating.
For example, when I run a P&L and drill down to a specific bill, sometimes I would make an amendment to said bill. When I save and go back it spits me out at the CoA when I want to return to the P&L. So instead of rerunning I would be able to click on the dropdown and automatically be taken to the P&L again.
Hi team, appreciate the thoughtful feedback in your idea here and while not a complete solve for what's being asked I did want to highlight for this specific scenario you may find favouriting reports useful. This will make that report easily navigable from the Reporting menu in our new navigation 🙂
Also, just another tool that might help to find items that have recently been edited - the History & Notes could be used and filtered to quickly see what transactions have been edited.
While we don't have immediate plans for enabling these sort of breadcrumbs our teams are continuously thinking about the logic and flows as they keep developing Xero features.

Can you please provide a way to display a list of functions and reports that a user has already opened so that you don't have to constantly click click click to get back to them. For example, you open a report and then do something else, can you please provide a way to get back to that open report with just one click. I am so sick and tired of all the clicking I have to do because you don't currently provide a way to get back to something I was doing with a single click. Have a look at how it's done in Reckon Accounts Hosted, a vastly superior system to Xero in my opinion. In Reckon, every time you do something new, it remembers that tab by listing it down the left-side of the screen. You can then go back to it with one single click.

Add a settings feature where users would be able to customise the top bar to show frequently used shortcuts such as 'Drafts', 'Credit Notes', etc. This would enable users to select their preferred top bar, improving the user experience.
