  1. To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.

    You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

  2. It would be great to have the ability to assign New staff to all existing Projects without having to open each Project individually. Perhaps a multi select drop down. Currently I am having to open 40 projects and add the new staff member in one at a time.

  3. It is possible to see a list of bills not assigned to a project.

    However, I would like to be able to see a list of all transactions not assigned to a project including spend money and receive money.

  4. You are currently unable to see the projects within the contacts tab against a contact within Xero.
    This would be really helpful as I have some customers that have several projects on the go at one time. This would make it easier to go from one project to another for one client. It would also be a quick reference location. The added quotes, invoices and credit notes added to the contact has been a great step in simplifying contact management - the project listing would complete the loop.

  5. Allocation to Projects

    Can a feature please be added where a recurring bill is allocated to a project on set up? At present this can only be done manually after the recurring transaction has been created. We have over 100 recurring bills per month where we'll have to do this manually month-on-month in perpetuity.

  6. I want to be able to group/merge multiple expenses being on-billed into one line on an invoice, even if they're not a tracked expense.

    For example, if a contracting company has billed for a fortnight of the contractor's work, but has separated that into two lines, each dealing with one week, on their bill, then the draft that is created when they e-invoice me will have two lines. When I assign these lines to a project and approve the bill, each line shows up as a separate expense to be on-billed. If I am on-billing the full fortnight, I would…

  7. Ability to set reminders/notifications to raise next invoice in Xero Projects

    When raising the quote, which details the scheduled dates that the customer will be invoiced, it would be useful if you could set a reminder/notification on the project to tell you when to prepare and send the next invoice out.

  8. There should be an option to make the description field for users completing their timesheets mandatory. This would enable Project Managers and Finance Managers to view more detailed information other than the number of hours worked on tasks.

    Currently many users do not fill in the description because it is not compulsory, which means that this detail is lost and decisions surrounding resourcing of Projects are not as accurate.

    This is critical to businesses where R&D is a large area and therefore efficient Project Management is key. As this may not be critical to all business using the Projects Module,…

  9. Staff members gets pay reviews each year, which means their cost change. But we are unable to get the change to commence from a certain date so reporting for prior year projects won't be accurate. any way we can put a change commencement date so reporting is more accurate?

  12. Ability to produce statements of activities that can specifically produce tracking categories for not for profit organisations.

  14. Problem

    Fixed-price tasks in Xero Projects currently bill the entire fixed amount at once. Logging time or transferring the task to an invoice forces Xero to invoice the full value immediately.

    Many businesses complete fixed-price work through multiple time entries or stages over long periods. We need to bill the fixed price progressively while still tracking actual time for internal cost and efficiency.

    Impact

    Today, users must manually split one real task into many smaller tasks (“Stage 1”, “Stage 2”, “Stage 3”), or manually edit every invoice to avoid overbilling.

  15. Have an option to 'mark all items as invoiced' in a project. You can currently only do this if you invoice from 'project amount'.

    We re-order and combine tasks when invoicing and then have to manually go into the project and mark every task and expense as invoiced individually. It's very time consuming. I need an option to mark all items as invoiced at once.

  16. Feature request for better support of tracking time for non-Xero users in Projects. Need a solution for tracking self-employed labourer's (non-Xero users) hours worked across Projects. Time sheets for non-Xero Users across Projects.

  17. The ability to upload a file into individual projects directly rather than via bill allocation. Would like to be able to upload customer order, for example.

  18. I use Projects as timesheets for my staff in my contracting business, and it has worked well for the past two years. I do not use Xero process staff wages, I use ACE Payroll.

    After a staff member leaves, I delete them from Projects, as it costs me $7.50 per month per person, and when you have between 20-25 staff, it can get quite expensive.

    Once I delete a staff member from Xero, I cannot change any of their time entries. The reason I need to do this is usually because they have allocated his/her time against the wrong project.

    Appreciate the detail in your idea here, Lynette. While we don't have immediate work planned for this , it'll be good to get a sense of the interest from others in the community and if there's any change planned we'll let you know through the idea here.

  19. We run a music festival of 10 concerts. Each concert is set up as a tracking category. It would be great to spread the direct and admin costs across evenly acoss all 10 concerts in a way that doesn't involve entering each invoice across 10 lines.
