  1. when using tracking categrories it would be useful to be able to add the tracking category to a bank transfer, instead of going through find and match and the adding a transfer.

  5. Creating projects in Xero is a great and useful function. Creating estimated expenses inside of the projects is even greater. However, those estimated expenses not showing estimated costs to complete the project is a missing crucial feature for me. Currently the estimated costs do not show in projects summary reports unless there are expenses towards that estimated expense item. This is a major flaw because anyone wanting to track estimated expenses needs to know the estimated costs to complete on all projects.

  8. i need tracking categories for bank accounts - my client has three different branches within the organisation and all have their own bank account. i have managed to create tracking categories for income and expenses but Xero hasnt provided the function for bank accounts. So when drawing the Financials the bank accounts dont reflect with each relevant branch. Is there a way that this function could be created/considered or has anyone have any recommendations on how to bypass this problem?

    Trying to think into this one - when you draw funds these statement lines would be reconciled to an equity account in the business? In theory the Tracking would be recorded when the item is reconciled to this account ? 

    Please do let me know more detail if there's something I'm missing in here? 

  9. Have an option to 'mark all items as invoiced' in a project. You can currently only do this if you invoice from 'project amount'.

    We re-order and combine tasks when invoicing and then have to manually go into the project and mark every task and expense as invoiced individually. It's very time consuming. I need an option to mark all items as invoiced at once.

  10. we have recently set up our business so everyone is on xero, we would like people to be able to view profitability in projects, but not have the admin user.
    Giving people admin user allows them too much access, but we want them to be able to see profitability on the projects so they can keep track.
    is there a way we can give them access, without upgrading their user role??

    Hey Rebecca, thanks for your engagement and for sharing this detailed suggestion about user permissions in Xero Projects.

    We've reviewed your idea to allow users to view project profitability without needing the full admin user role, and it can now gain support from other community members. We understand the need for team members to keep track of a project's performance, and why granting full admin access isn't always suitable.

    Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how this more granular user role would improve their project management and empower their teams. 🙂

  13. Update inventory when it is posted as an expense to a project as this makes more sense as clients use the project reports to calculate WIP and it is annoying to have to constantly check which inventory figures have been applied and deduct this from the inventory. It also means when projects are billed this actually reduced the stock figure as this only happens when you invoice the project for the tasks and expenses whereas currently invoicing using the project amount does not update the inventory.

  14. I need to create a report per project which shows the total costs split into nominal codes. I do not want to also use tracking - duplication of work.

  15. The ability to upload a file into individual projects directly rather than via bill allocation. Would like to be able to upload customer order, for example.

  16. When in Projects - Tasks & Expenses - it would be really handy if the supplier name was included.

    When adding bills, I have to remember to add the supplier name in the bill description before adding the bill info.

    Attachment 1 - shows bills in projects without manually typing in supplier name when adding bills

  17. Would it be possible to set up repeating projects? IE if I do the same work for a client each month to save me keep setting up a new project could I choose for it to be a repeating project?

  19. When using projects, it would be great if you could add Deadline Dates to the tasks assigned to the project. This would be helpful in tracking tasks that need to be done. I know there is this option when adding a project, but many of the projects I add are for a whole year and then I add tasks for each month. I would like to be able to track all projects and tasks based on a deadline date.

  20. Automatically add expense receipts associated with an Expense Claim to a Project that converts to an Invoice within a Project. Currently, the Expense Claim description is the only info added automatically to a Project when the claim is associated with the Project. Ideally, we need the receipts associated with those Expense Claims also added automatically from the library to the Project without having to search in a long list of library receipts for a match when creating a customer Invoice for expense reimbursement.
