  2. In Projects

    When invoice is created from Projects ( I have Six Staff) It automatically orders this in name order and has mutiple date entries from the Latest date entered.
    I then have to ferry each date up the page to order these chronologically so i have the earliest date and each staff member for this date (before starting to add matarials etc)
    To make it easier for my clients to read what is entailed for each day.
    We need a button to convert invoice to date order as on big jobs this takes me over half an hour ??

  4. It would be useful to see a breakdown of the time assigned to each task within a project, rather than just a list of the time entries in date order. Seeing the overall time on the task page is useful, but being able to delve into that would be more useful.

  6. Creating projects in Xero is a great and useful function. Creating estimated expenses inside of the projects is even greater. However, those estimated expenses not showing estimated costs to complete the project is a missing crucial feature for me. Currently the estimated costs do not show in projects summary reports unless there are expenses towards that estimated expense item. This is a major flaw because anyone wanting to track estimated expenses needs to know the estimated costs to complete on all projects.

  7. When in Projects - Tasks & Expenses - it would be really handy if the supplier name was included.

    When adding bills, I have to remember to add the supplier name in the bill description before adding the bill info.

    Attachment 1 - shows bills in projects without manually typing in supplier name when adding bills

  9. It would be great if you could add notes to the specific estimated expense. When adding costs via 'track to estimate', it would be helpful to note reminders or notes to confirm elements are a variation/ or why the package has overspent. As opposed to adding more tracked expense. Even if it was a pop out on the Tasks and Expenses screen.

  10. we have recently set up our business so everyone is on xero, we would like people to be able to view profitability in projects, but not have the admin user.
    Giving people admin user allows them too much access, but we want them to be able to see profitability on the projects so they can keep track.
    is there a way we can give them access, without upgrading their user role??

    Hey Rebecca, thanks for your engagement and for sharing this detailed suggestion about user permissions in Xero Projects.

    We've reviewed your idea to allow users to view project profitability without needing the full admin user role, and it can now gain support from other community members. We understand the need for team members to keep track of a project's performance, and why granting full admin access isn't always suitable.

  11. Would it be possible to set up repeating projects? IE if I do the same work for a client each month to save me keep setting up a new project could I choose for it to be a repeating project?

  17. i need tracking categories for bank accounts - my client has three different branches within the organisation and all have their own bank account. i have managed to create tracking categories for income and expenses but Xero hasnt provided the function for bank accounts. So when drawing the Financials the bank accounts dont reflect with each relevant branch. Is there a way that this function could be created/considered or has anyone have any recommendations on how to bypass this problem?

    Trying to think into this one - when you draw funds these statement lines would be reconciled to an equity account in the business? In theory the Tracking would be recorded when the item is reconciled to this account ? 

    Please do let me know more detail if there's something I'm missing in here? 

  18. Would like the ability to track changes to the estimated project amount over the course of the project as "Change Orders." This should allow for the following data points: date, description, positive or negative changes to the original estimate, calculate the new project total. The ability to notify project assignees and request approval from the client.

  19. Xero Projects Full Integration with Xero Payroll

    Idea Summary:
    Enable Xero Payroll (Coming later this year) to natively use approved time entered in Xero Projects for payroll processing, just as Projects time is already used for client invoicing.

    Problem:
    Currently, time entered in Xero Projects cannot flow into Gusto (or future Xero Payroll). Teams must re-enter time or rely on external payroll systems, creating duplicate work, errors, and reconciliation overhead. This makes processing payroll today (Gusto, Paychex, ADP) feel disconnected from the rest of the Xero ecosystem.

    Proposed Solution:
    Allow Xero Payroll (coming later this year) to pull approved project…

  20. Automatically add expense receipts associated with an Expense Claim to a Project that converts to an Invoice within a Project. Currently, the Expense Claim description is the only info added automatically to a Project when the claim is associated with the Project. Ideally, we need the receipts associated with those Expense Claims also added automatically from the library to the Project without having to search in a long list of library receipts for a match when creating a customer Invoice for expense reimbursement.
