Reconciliation - Add project without adding details
At the moment to enter a project number when reconciling, you have to enter details every time. Can you add the project drop-down box into the bank rec screen for every transaction

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can get a better sense of how many customers this would help, and learn more about the different ways people would like to use this kind of integration.
While there aren’t any plans for this in the near future, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the idea and the level of support it gets from the community.

Project - Automatically import individual time entries from projects to payroll timesheets
To import individual time entries from projects to payroll timesheets, at the moment this only comes through as a bulk time for the day, you then have to manually add the time to the particular pay item if you use more then one pay item. Very frustrating and time consuming, would be nice to have this automated.
19 votesHi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. It's currently possible to import project time to timesheets, however the rate is generally imported as the regular earnings rate.
This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.
Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

Instead of manually keying in the Project number, it would be good to have a prefix running number for projects.

Project Financials - Include a Supplier option
In the older Project Report function it was possible to select the Supplier Name. This option is now not available in the newer Project Financials report. This is useful as it allows supplier engagement for a specific project to be monitored and avoids the need to perform other more long-winded searches.

Tracking categories for bank accounts
i need tracking categories for bank accounts - my client has three different branches within the organisation and all have their own bank account. i have managed to create tracking categories for income and expenses but Xero hasnt provided the function for bank accounts. So when drawing the Financials the bank accounts dont reflect with each relevant branch. Is there a way that this function could be created/considered or has anyone have any recommendations on how to bypass this problem?

Trying to think into this one - when you draw funds these statement lines would be reconciled to an equity account in the business? In theory the Tracking would be recorded when the item is reconciled to this account ?

Invoicing - Apply tracking category automatically after creation
When you need to create a new tracking option in the sales invoice screen, you have to search for it again after you have just created it.
This used to work where it would keep the tracking option you just created but now you have to then search for it to select it again. Projects - Allow access to view profitability without admin user role.
we have recently set up our business so everyone is on xero, we would like people to be able to view profitability in projects, but not have the admin user.
Giving people admin user allows them too much access, but we want them to be able to see profitability on the projects so they can keep track.

We understand the need for team members to keep track of a project's performance, and why granting full admin access isn't always suitable.

Projects - Include supplier name in Tasks & Expenses
When in Projects - Tasks & Expenses - it would be really handy if the supplier name was included.
When adding bills, I have to remember to add the supplier name in the bill description before adding the bill info.

in Projects, you only have 3 options as tabs, Draft, in progress or closed, it would be great if i could create more tabs. (on proof to customer, waiting on customer artwork, etc)

In tracking categories - it would be useful to be able to have the option to reorder departments so they show in the order you want in reports

Projects: Organise line items chronologically when generating invoice
In Projects
When invoice is created from Projects ( I have Six Staff) It automatically orders this in name order and has mutiple date entries from the Latest date entered.
I then have to ferry each date up the page to order these chronologically so i have the earliest date and each staff member for this date (before starting to add matarials etc)
To make it easier for my clients to read what is entailed for each day.
We need a button to convert invoice to date order as on big jobs this takes me over half an hour ??17 votes -
Projects - view time entries by task
It would be useful to see a breakdown of the time assigned to each task within a project, rather than just a list of the time entries in date order. Seeing the overall time on the task page is useful, but being able to delve into that would be more useful.

Projects - Draft invoices not appear as 'invoiced'
Feature suggestion: Draft invoices should not appear as “Invoiced” in Xero Projects until approved
In Xero Projects, invoice line items assigned to a project currently appear as “Invoiced” even when the invoice is still in draft status.
This creates a major reporting issue for construction businesses and any business that uses staged billing, contract milestones, progress claims, or forward-planned invoicing.
For staged construction contracts, we often need to prepare draft invoices in advance for agreed contract stages, such as deposit, slab, frame, lock-up, fixing, practical completion, or variations. Drafting these invoices ahead of time is part of good project administration.

Projects - Ability to move expenses to another project.
I'd like to be able to move expenses from one project to another without having to delete the expense under one project and manually enter it again into a different project number. It would be much easier and so much more efficient to be able to do the same as assigning a bill to a job number and if that job number turns out to be incorrect, it's simply a case of re-assigning the project number to it rather than having to delete and re-enter the whole thing again. Very frustrating and time consuming!

Project Summary Reports - Include estimated expenses
Creating projects in Xero is a great and useful function. Creating estimated expenses inside of the projects is even greater. However, those estimated expenses not showing estimated costs to complete the project is a missing crucial feature for me. Currently the estimated costs do not show in projects summary reports unless there are expenses towards that estimated expense item. This is a major flaw because anyone wanting to track estimated expenses needs to know the estimated costs to complete on all projects.
Similarly, projects will zero cost or revenue do not show up on project summary reports. This is also…
