It is possible to see a list of bills not assigned to a project.
However, I would like to be able to see a list of all transactions not assigned to a project including spend money and receive money.

Activity Statement - Filter transactions by Tracking Category
Activity Statement - ability to filter transactions by Tracking Category to check for accurate GST codes. The ability to filter and check GST entered on transactions with Tracking Categories is especially important for NFPs and Charities.

Projects - Invoice multiple expenses on the same line
I want to be able to group/merge multiple expenses being on-billed into one line on an invoice, even if they're not a tracked expense.
For example, if a contracting company has billed for a fortnight of the contractor's work, but has separated that into two lines, each dealing with one week, on their bill, then the draft that is created when they e-invoice me will have two lines. It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.13 votes -

Xero Projects - Show Supplier Name for un allocated expenses
Currently Unallocated Expenses in Xero projects just show the item line description Which can make assigning to an estimated expense difficult especially when you have "Delivery Charges" I propose a change so that once an expense is allocated to a project and falls into the unassigned it shows the name of the supplier

Xero Accounting app - Assign billable expense to Project when creating a transaction
I would really like to be able to allocate my expenses to a project within the app.
If I add a receipt via the app, (which for me is the most efficient way to add expenses) I then have to go online, find the transaction, edit it and resave it, in order to sign it to a project. This is frustratingly inefficient and doubles the time it takes to input a purchase!

Projects - Ability to Convert an Estimated Expense to an actual Expense
Add a button to move an estimated expense to become an actual expense. Would save time having to copy and paste the description. Add ability to amend final cost.

Xero Projects - Have an option to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced"
We have a large project with countless numbers of invoices assigned to the project. I would like an option to be able to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced" so that we can see what has already been invoiced to the client and so that we can work out more accurate profitability figures. At present, each individual invoice needs to be marked off separately and this can take hours to mark them all off, particularly if the project is large.

Expense Claims - Split expense claims over multiple projects
Ability to be able to add multiple line items to expense claim bill, like a normal bill, when expense claims are submitted through Xero Me. When a singular cost is associated with multiple jobs, being able to add a second or third line etc to divide this cost within the bill and assign to project accordingly would be far better than having to upload the same expense claim multiple times with different portions of costs allocated.

Allocation to Projects
Can a feature please be added where a recurring bill is allocated to a project on set up? At present this can only be done manually after the recurring transaction has been created. We have over 100 recurring bills per month where we'll have to do this manually month-on-month in perpetuity.

Tracking - Not For Profit Tracking Categories for Statement of Activities
Ability to produce statements of activities that can specifically produce tracking categories for not for profit organisations.
Purpose: This will make a not for profit organisation can classify different types of income that they’ve received using these specific tracking categories.

Projects - Ability to edit time of users who have left
I use Projects as timesheets for my staff in my contracting business, and it has worked well for the past two years. I do not use Xero process staff wages, I use ACE Payroll.
After a staff member leaves, I delete them from Projects, as it costs me $7.50 per month per person, and when you have between 20-25 staff, it can get quite expensive.
Once I delete a staff member from Xero, I cannot change any of their time entries. The reason I need to do this is usually because they have allocated his/her time against the wrong project.

Projects | Quotes - Add project title to reference field
I think the idea of Xero Projects is great. However, it requires a lot of hand-holding and reentering information to go through a project life cycle.
Here are my top 10 improvements I think would make a FAR smoother experience.
Pull through items quoted into the project as tasks once 'started'. This should be a bare minimum. At the moment tasks have to be manually added to any project.
Push the project title into the reference tag so it displays in the Xero invoice list (otherwise there is no high-level description of what the job is for an invoice). Or…

It's best for each point you've raised to be recorded as separate ideas so the community know what they're voting for, we can get a clear sense of interest in what customers are wanting to see, and we can keep you updated if a particular idea progresses.
We have a few ideas that have been started and appear to relate to things you'd like to see too, I've adjusted the title of your idea here to represent your point on adding the project title to the Quote reference but for the others I'd recommend starting new ideas for each of these so we can start to track the interest from the community.

Projects - Show project allocation (or blank) on Invoices/Bills overview and exports
Ability to show Xero Project assignment on the Invoice overview export report an the Bills export report so you can see what sales and costs have been allocated to which project or not at all.
