  2. I'd like to be able to move expenses from one project to another without having to delete the expense under one project and manually enter it again into a different project number. It would be much easier and so much more efficient to be able to do the same as assigning a bill to a job number and if that job number turns out to be incorrect, it's simply a case of re-assigning the project number to it rather than having to delete and re-enter the whole thing again. Very frustrating and time consuming!

  3. We have a large project with countless numbers of invoices assigned to the project. I would like an option to be able to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced" so that we can see what has already been invoiced to the client and so that we can work out more accurate profitability figures. At present, each individual invoice needs to be marked off separately and this can take hours to mark them all off, particularly if the project is large.

  4. Our financials include a report on the profitability of projects closed during the month. Because the system writes the date of closure from the actual live date that the user marks the project as closed, the user needs to make sure that each project is marked as closed immediately on the date of completion. E.g. If a project is completed in the last week of the month the user must ensure that the closure field is ticked during that week and not wait until the following week.

    Can you allow the user to enter or amend the closure date ?

  5. Activity Statement - ability to filter transactions by Tracking Category to check for accurate GST codes. The ability to filter and check GST entered on transactions with Tracking Categories is especially important for NFPs and Charities.

    For some organisations, there are specific GST treatments for specific transactions and often these are tracked by the use of Tracking Categories.

    Currently in the Activity Statement we can only do a check based on a dump of transactions listed under the tax rate or BAS field tabs, which is cumbersome and clumsy. The current methods available in Xero for auditing and checking GST…

  6. Add an expense date to a project

  7. I would really like to be able to allocate my expenses to a project within the app.
    If I add a receipt via the app, (which for me is the most efficient way to add expenses) I then have to go online, find the transaction, edit it and resave it, in order to sign it to a project. This is frustratingly inefficient and doubles the time it takes to input a purchase!
    Could you please add this ability to the app?

  8. Pull a report per bank account(s) with transactions indicating to which accounts the transactions were reconciled to

  9. We often have project and during this we generate sub projects.
    For record keeping it would be handy to able create a sub project under the main one. So when its time to invoice the whole project you can combine all related ones in one invoice.

    Thanks for your feedback on Projects here, Tia. If you have any other detail you can share or examples of how sub projects would be used by your business this would be useful for our product teams consideration.

    We don't have any plans for this at present, but make sure you share the idea with other colleagues that could also find this useful so we can get a wider understanding of the interest.

  10. Ability to be able to add multiple line items to expense claim bill, like a normal bill, when expense claims are submitted through Xero Me. When a singular cost is associated with multiple jobs, being able to add a second or third line etc to divide this cost within the bill and assign to project accordingly would be far better than having to upload the same expense claim multiple times with different portions of costs allocated.

  11. Allocation to Projects

    Can a feature please be added where a recurring bill is allocated to a project on set up? At present this can only be done manually after the recurring transaction has been created. We have over 100 recurring bills per month where we'll have to do this manually month-on-month in perpetuity.

  12. To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.

    You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

  13. There should be an option to make the description field for users completing their timesheets mandatory. This would enable Project Managers and Finance Managers to view more detailed information other than the number of hours worked on tasks.

    Currently many users do not fill in the description because it is not compulsory, which means that this detail is lost and decisions surrounding resourcing of Projects are not as accurate.

    This is critical to businesses where R&D is a large area and therefore efficient Project Management is key. As this may not be critical to all business using the Projects Module,…

  15. Ability to produce statements of activities that can specifically produce tracking categories for not for profit organisations.

  17. I use Projects as timesheets for my staff in my contracting business, and it has worked well for the past two years. I do not use Xero process staff wages, I use ACE Payroll.

    After a staff member leaves, I delete them from Projects, as it costs me $7.50 per month per person, and when you have between 20-25 staff, it can get quite expensive.

    Once I delete a staff member from Xero, I cannot change any of their time entries. The reason I need to do this is usually because they have allocated his/her time against the wrong project.

    Appreciate the detail in your idea here, Lynette. While we don't have immediate work planned for this , it'll be good to get a sense of the interest from others in the community and if there's any change planned we'll let you know through the idea here.

  18. The 3 Project categories at present are Draft/In Progress/Closed. I would like another category called "Invoiced" so I could see which projects have been invoiced and are waiting for payment before we close them.

  20. Ability to set reminders/notifications to raise next invoice in Xero Projects

    When raising the quote, which details the scheduled dates that the customer will be invoiced, it would be useful if you could set a reminder/notification on the project to tell you when to prepare and send the next invoice out.
