  1. Projects- Add date project is started in xero and the name of who started it. This will help us to be able to determine how many days a job took from order date to completion.
    We will also be able to tell who started the project if we need further information about it. Something like the 'History and Notes' in the Invoices, where there is a record of who generated the 'Project' and on what date and who makes changes along the way would be perfect.   2. Projects currently only allows hourly rate, fixed price or non chargeable time. It would be great to be able to select a daily rate option

  3. A drop-down list when adding a Task under a project for an Estimated expense or an Expense. We only see a list when we type something. What if we want to see the items in alphabettical order starting with the 1st item?

  4. When I post an expense through to a project, for some reason it limits it to 100 characters, which pretty much makes it un-useable for me.
    This is annoying, as I was just thinking how handy the projects app is, but now all the "projects" I've set up are basically a waste of time as I need the extra detail on my invoices.
    Please can you change this?

  5. Most of my projects just have one task, so when I go and create a time entry for a project with a single task, it would be great if the task was already set.

  6. The Project Details report has the option to Summarise by Project Name, however the feature doesn't work if you select multiple projects. Xero support have advised that they know about the problem but don't plan on fixing it. The report just comes back with a message saying "There is No Data to Display". This report would be very useful as it is the only report that shows remaining hours on the summary version. Project reports overall are very confusing and this is the report that makes the most sense and is not working.

In Projects, when we add tasks to the project (pulled from Products and Services) and then Create Quote, the Product or Service name is what imports into the description line in the Quote and not the description from that Product or Service, as it does when creating a quote outside of Projects. Having this consistency makes sense (and is strange that it is not already the default) but it makes creating a quote from projects cumbersome, as the description needs to be added manually.

  8. In Xero Project it would be useful to create sub teams within the staff. For example, we have different office locations and would like to filter our reports, or view projects by those office locations.

  10. Xero Project Module

    we are currently using Xero Project module.
    the duration of each project is around 3 years.

    I need to have an interface that allows me to input the sales invoices issued, purchases & expenses related to this project in the last 2 Financial years.

    I need to track the profitability of this particular project that will be a duration of over 3 years

  12. It would be useful to see the Date and Contact Name associated with each invoice and expense that is shown in Projects, rather than clicking to view each one each time.

    This is particularly important now that we have realised that those with Projects access but not Standard User access to Xero cannot view the invoices or expenses to see that detail.

  13. We are a small consultancy firm and we do work for customers for multiple sites. We set up our projects where each task is a separate site. We need to be able to search for these tasks but the search option only allows searching at a project level. Can you please update the functionality to be able to search based on task name?

    Appreciate wanting a quick method for adding a project to a transaction when reconciling.

    For the time being we're continuing to keep an eye on the interest for this here.

  15. Profitability of projects not correct. We are setting up projects in Xero. We have found the profit figures are not accurate where there are a mixture of GBP and US$ bills. Could you please forward to your development team. It can't be that difficult for projects to pick up a translated figure surely??

  17. The Quote information should come forward on the invoice whether you are invoicing from the Quote or invoicing from the Project Amount OR the deposit amount needs to show when invoicing from the Quote.

    It doesn't make sense that if someone pays a deposit, I have to use the project amount to invoice but have to re-enter all the quote information (our quotes are broke out in areas with a dollar amount for that area to be invoiced).

    If I use the Invoice from Quote, then the deposit amount doesn't show. I then have to work around the deposit that…

  18. To import individual time entries from projects to payroll timesheets, at the moment this only comes through as a bulk time for the day, you then have to manually add the time to the particular pay item if you use more then one pay item. Very frustrating and time consuming, would be nice to have this automated.

    Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. It's currently possible to import project time to timesheets, however the rate is generally imported as the regular earnings rate.

    This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.

    Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

    Would still need to consider an optional trigger here as different businesses process projects in different ways. 

    Appreciate the efficiency play and while this isn't something we have plans for atm, we'll track the interest of this here. 

  20. Xero Projects - Needs Total Estimated Hours & Total Actual Hours (for Tasks) at top of Project. We quote projects based on hours and $ for each task. We would like to be able to easily see 'total hours' at the top of the screen for the project, and then total hours used, so we can see how many hours we have left to go on the Project (helps us to keep worked hours in check). At this point I would have to manually add up all hours for all tasks to get a total, which is tedious, and then…
