Projects - Sort Tasks and Expenses
Please allow for a sort filter on tasks and expenses within a project to be able to sort alphabetically A-Z.
31 votesHi team, while we began work on developing the ability search and sort by tasks in Projects the teams focus had to shift to other priority work and we want to be open that this has been put down for now.
When there is the ability to pick this back up we'll return to share with you here.

Projects - Track labour costs without generating an invoice
I would like to track labour costs in project without invoicing them. The invoicing is done differently. It goes per bag packed, but I would like to know how much on labour it costs to pack the bags. Thank you.

Project detail report - Include Supplier invoices name and invoice reference
I would like to include the supplier invoices name and invoice reference on the on the project detail report rather than just the Expense name. Is there any way i can do this?

Projects | Tabs - Ability to filter by status
To add Sort and Filter into Quotes & Invoices and Task & expenses inside a Project, so we can filter by Price/Status/Draft/Awaiting payment/Paid or sort we we want it

Projects Reporting - Include tracking
Projects - ability to use tracking categories when using the project reporting. At present when project data is entered into xero there is no report that can be filtered using tracking categories

Projects - Add Invoice Paid Column to Project Summary Report
We've started using Projects and I've created a test project, sales and purchase invoice and have marked the sales invoice as paid.
However the project summary report doesn't show that the client/sales invoice has been paid and this is so important for us to be able to plan our payment run for the direct costs relating to that client/project.
Can this field be added to the report?

Projects - Set date for change of charge rate
Staff members gets pay reviews each year, which means their cost change. But we are unable to get the change to commence from a certain date so reporting for prior year projects won't be accurate. any way we can put a change commencement date so reporting is more accurate?

Project Invoice - List Time Entries in Chronological Order
Listing Time Entries in Chronological Order in Invoicing for Projects.
As raised in support case CX0012531595 - I use projects to create invoices for clients and show time entries for all tasks - the problem is that the draft invoice seems to put all the entries in random order rather than a date order - there is no way to sort by date so that it reads chronologically for the client. Projects | Task Invoice - Show detail of time associated to task
Project invoicing to show time in minutes/hours for time entries
This is a requirement of many of our customers. Eg time sent 30 mins shows as 0.5 on invoice. We need a column that shows time for the task time enry. At present we need to manually type 30 mins in the task description to meet customer invoicing requirements.3 votes -
Projects - Add date of the expense onto the tasks & expenses screen
In the Projects | Tasks & expneses, can we please add in the date??
I understand that the date can be accessed by opening the bill or viewing the bill, but this is very tedious AND if you open the bill, you can't easily find your way back to the particular bill you were looking at (the screen jumps back to the top).
It is extremely difficult to navigate these expenses when there are hundreds of them attached to the project, so having the bill date here would be SO much more convenient.3 votes -
Projects - User Options and Permissions
In projects it would be most useful we there were more user permission options. A check box of permissions you could give all staff
1- only have staff see the projects they are assigned to - To give staff privacy on work hours and expenses.
2- give all staff regardless of their permission access to expenses
3- give or withhold what financial information they can and can not see
4- give or limit the options for invoices/quotesBlanket permissions don't work.

Projects - Notify users when assigned to a Project
The ability to notify (possibly by email) a user when they have been assigned to a project so they are aware they can start working on that project.

Tracking - Ability to search Category & Options
To be able to search the Tracking Categories on the set up page. Also to have a duplicate warning would be very helpful.

Projects - Create a report that includes a breakdown of suppliers invoices
Looking for a report under a project where I can have a breakdown of all invoices with dates and gross total paid for a specific supplier - I've been told this is not available and yet all the information is in the system but no report available

Tracking categories for bank accounts
i need tracking categories for bank accounts - my client has three different branches within the organisation and all have their own bank account. i have managed to create tracking categories for income and expenses but Xero hasnt provided the function for bank accounts. So when drawing the Financials the bank accounts dont reflect with each relevant branch. Is there a way that this function could be created/considered or has anyone have any recommendations on how to bypass this problem?

Trying to think into this one - when you draw funds these statement lines would be reconciled to an equity account in the business? In theory the Tracking would be recorded when the item is reconciled to this account ?
Please do let me know more detail if there's something I'm missing in here?

Projects: Update inventory when a tracked inventory item is added as an expense
Update inventory when it is posted as an expense to a project as this makes more sense as clients use the project reports to calculate WIP and it is annoying to have to constantly check which inventory figures have been applied and deduct this from the inventory. It also means when projects are billed this actually reduced the stock figure as this only happens when you invoice the project for the tasks and expenses whereas currently invoicing using the project amount does not update the inventory.

Projects - Multiple Timers
Projects - It would be helpful to be able to open multiple timers at once. Sometimes I work on one project and then get interrupted to work on another. I would like to be able to open a new timer without having to save and close the time on my original timer. I could then come back to the original timer and resume time recording after closing and saving the new timer.

Projects | Tasks & expenses - Ability to group estimated expenses
Xero Projects - Group estimated expenses
It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.9 votes -

Have the option to add GST (10%) on tasks (hourly rate) and estimated expenses when creating a project.

Projects - Ability to add Task Title then seperate line for task description
When I add a Task to a project I would like to add a Task Title trhen have a seperate section to Describe the task detail. At the moment there is insufficient space for this information.
