Projects - To do list / check list
It would be really helpful to be able to add yes / no, to do / complete or custom field options to tasks rather than time. Not all tasks get billed for the time spent, but all tasks have to be completed. Being able to check them off would be great. IF you can then have Job / Project templates even better, as a project can be created with these already on there

Tracking categories - Spread costs across tracking categories
We run a music festival of 10 concerts. Each concert is set up as a tracking category. It would be great to spread the direct and admin costs across evenly acoss all 10 concerts in a way that doesn't involve entering each invoice across 10 lines.

Not meaning to cut the curb the conversation, but we do sometimes need to make tough decisions of when to change the status of an idea.

Project - Multiple contacts
Multiple contacts on a Project. Projects can currenlty only be built and linked to 1 contact at a time. However. in terms of training and events where there could be multiple contacts linked this is an issue. If Xero could add the option for multiple contacts this would be great. It would save all my issues in terms of tracking a job.

Atm, you can create bills and invoices for different contacts and associated these transactions with a single project.

Sometimes time entries change, and there's no record of when or how..
please includes history notes on time entries - or capture in the advanced activity section, history and notes, information on when time entries are entered &/or changed.

Project - Show Days elapsed vs remaining
In Xero Projects --> Time it will show "Deadline 31 May 2024 80 days to go"
Instead could it show "56 days elapsed and 80 days to go", or a percentage of the days elapsed to give it a scale the same way the invoiced and timesheeted hours headings do.
You could treat the first day as the first time entry on the project, so no need to add a field to manually set the project start date.

Xero Projects - Custom report builder
Ability to be able to create your own custom project report in Projects. For example being able to create a report using the fields in both the Project Details report and the Project Financials report.
Also the ability to ability to amend the current reports in the format you want and then to save them to customs reports as you can do with other reporting.

XERO Projects could do with a massive update!
Similar to the main dashboard XERO Projects could also do with a dashboard where you can see a quick overview of what is due in the coming weeks, what is overdue, what is assigned to me, or what is assigned to staff I manage. What projects are in draft status and what projects are 'in progress'. Projects with amounts that need to be invoiced and projects where allocated hours to tasks have been exceeded or amounts allocated to estimated expenses have exceeded.

Projects - Add Estimated expense in foreign currency
We have projects in Xero that estimated expenses in USD and AUD, but at the moment we are not able to set up tracked expenses in just our general currency (AUD).

Projects - Transfer funds from one Project to another
Right now there’s no functionality in Xero Projects to transfer or "reallocate" funds from one Project to another.
As a charity, from time-to-time we need to reallocate funds from one project to another (for example if we have not received enough money to complete a particular project we reallocate the funds assigned to that project to a similar one to honor our donor's preferences).
I have tried looking in Manual Journals but there is no option there either. The only option I can find is to locate each invoice or "receive money" and change the project allocation. This is tedious…

Xero Projects - Create project from accepted quote
Xero Projects seems a bit backwards to me, you create project then can create or link a quote. It would be far better if you could create a a project from an accepted quote.
ie. Quote customer for job > Customer accepts quote > Mark quote as accepted and create project.130 votes -

Activity Statement - ability to filter transactions by Tracking Category to check for accurate GST codes. The ability to filter and check GST entered on transactions with Tracking Categories is especially important for NFPs and Charities.
For some organisations, there are specific GST treatments for specific transactions and often these are tracked by the use of Tracking Categories.

I am trying to add a list of inventory items to a project quickly, to estimate cost, is there an easy way to upload an excel sheet with all the inventory items & quantities?
I need to add multiple items like over 60 each with their own quantity... Can I upload a list? Instead of individual listing?

Zendesk Time Tracking Integration
I would love to see an integration with Zendesk to track time spent on tickets to be invoiced in Xero. I know this can by done with WorkflowMax but I don't want yet another app to deal with, it would be great to have this directly in Xero.

Contacts - Tab to view associated Projects
You are currently unable to see the projects within the contacts tab against a contact within Xero.
This would be really helpful as I have some customers that have several projects on the go at one time. This would make it easier to go from one project to another for one client. It would also be a quick reference location. The added quotes, invoices and credit notes added to the contact has been a great step in simplifying contact management - the project listing would complete the loop.10 votes
