  1. Please add a field at the top of the client page where you can clearly identify in BOLD RED if the client has a stop work/file on hold action. This is helpful for clients that have overdue fees or if they are clients that we require upfront payment for. This needs to be visible on this page so it can not be missed by anyone that may undertake some work who is not aware.

    Hey Amy, thanks for sharing your feedback and for explaining how an alert or “on hold” option in Xero Practice Manager would help you manage work for clients who owe outstanding fees. We’ve reviewed this idea and are now moving it to the Gaining support status so other partners can vote and add their own use cases. Your comments and votes play an important role in helping our product team understand the impact of ideas like this and how they should be prioritised on our roadmap. We’ll be sure to update this thread if there’s any change to the status of this idea in future.

  2. Including IR4J as a Return Type in report builder - Reposting

    when we have a report that we would want to specify the type of return e.g. ir3, ir4 there does not seem to be the IR4J specifically for when we file a IR4J on its own for members apart of a consolidated group and only require to file their own imputation return.

    It would be great if this could be included as this helps when reporting our internal filing stats.

    Thanks for raising this and outlining how a standalone IR4J return type in reporting would help you track filing activity across your group companies.

    We’re updating the idea status to Gaining support ✨, so others can add their votes and share how this would fit into their own workflows. Right now there aren’t any confirmed plans to introduce this change in Xero Tax, but your feedback – along with future votes and comments – will be really important input when we’re reviewing and prioritising improvements in this area.

  3. Under Collaboration Manager, please add the option to include or exclude completed jobs/quotes from the displayed list and search results.

    This functionality should allow users to easily filter between active and completed items, as well as allocate unallocated jobs/quotes to either open or closed jobs.

    This will improve operational efficiency by eliminating the need to first reopen a completed job merely to allocate an item and then close the job again afterwards.

  4. In the new Xero Practice HQ, it is very annoying when adding in a new client who is an individual. You need to scroll all the way down to business structure to select business structure, change it to individual, and then go back to the top to add in date of birth and gender. Makes the process of entering a new client in much more tedious than it needs to be.

    Hi Louis, thanks for raising this idea. We can see how moving the business structure field to the top of the new client setup form could best suit certain workflow.

    The idea is to move the business structure selection earlier in the form, as this choice influences the information needed later in the setup process.

    We'll continue tracking engagement and support from the community here.


  5. Public Holiday configuration: There should be a place for admin to set up public holiday for all practice members instead of them having to submit individual timesheets.

    The purpose is to have all necessary data for practice manager to do capacity planning accordingly.

  6. Would it be possible to create a new relationship option for Self Managed Superannuation Funds - 'Custodian'. Often when we have SMSF's with properties the SMSF has a trustee company and also an additional company as Custodian for the SMSF. It would be helpful to link both companies to the SMSF via relationships to get a better view of the client's structure.

  7. With all the new AUSTRAC reporting requirements coming soon is Xero adding any beneficial features to Practice Manager eg a Risk Rating box and any other reporting fields that might be helpful to be compliant with AUSTRAC and to reduce having to use additional software to keep track of these.
    Are there any links to apps you suggest for this or what are other accountants using to assist with all this.

    Hi Riki, thanks for raising this idea. We understand that having dedicated AUSTRAC compliance fields and risk assessment tracking within practice management workflows could be valuable as firms prepare for upcoming AML/CTF obligations.

    The idea is to provide structured fields for capturing compliance information, such as client risk ratings, verification status, and review dates, helping practices manage these requirements directly within Xero Tax.

    We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you'd find this compliance workflow improvement useful.


  8. In XERO Tax - when retrieving the EFT reports for monies into Trust. Currently XERO only allows one at a time. If you have 30 or 40 fee from refund returns in one day, you never get the reports in time. Other softwares allow a bulk download that shows (eg - on 20 April 2026) this many deposits were made to your Trust Account and these are the clients they are in relation to. This is one snapshot for one day. It is an impossible function as it stands for big practice.

    Thanks Meschel for raising this. We hear that managing EFT reports individually can be time-consuming.

    The idea of bulk exporting EFT details in one action could help improve efficiency for firms handling larger workloads. This has now been moved to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking demand and share it with our product team.

  10. Incorrect Bulk Update and Suggested Notification Process

    Example Scenario:
    On Job Manager, a staff member accidentally selected all active jobs and changed their status from “In Progress” to “Completed” using the bulk update feature.
    Impact:

    Over 150 jobs were marked as completed.
    Workflow visibility was disrupted, and deadlines were missed because jobs disappeared from active lists.

    Root Cause:

    Bulk update permissions were too broad.
    No audit trail or alert triggered when job states changed.

    Recommended Controls:

    Trigger Email Notifications for Job Status Changes/Setting up email alerts
    Detecting incorrect bulk updates
    Reverting changes quickly Options
    Require confirmation before applying changes to…

    Thanks for sharing this idea with us. We appreciate you outlining how safeguards around bulk updates could help teams manage workflows in XPM.

    In the meantime, it is worth noting that a custom job notification for job state change could be created in your XPM account if you haven't done so already.

  11. If my client is tech challenged and cannot figure out how to follow a signature request link from your emails, I send them the link to https://portal.xero.com/ and they can usually manage it from there. This appears to work for document packs too.

    Can we please have a similar universal login link for ask queries?

    Thank you for your interest in having multicurrency available on Xero’s Ledger plans.

    We’ve carefully considered this idea as part of our ongoing product reviews. At this stage, enabling multicurrency for Ledger plans is not in our development pipeline, and there are no plans or timelines to introduce this feature for Ledger.

    We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review our product roadmap based on customer needs and market demand. If the status of this idea changes in the future, we’ll be sure to provide an update.

  14. Add the end date column into Recurring jobs view so that you see the jobs that are not active and sort by that column. The job may have a current next date but it has actually been ended with an end date and you cannot tell from the main view without clicking into the job.

  15. We need a centralised user management solution for add-ins/apps. What is in place now is too unwieldy once you have more than a few clients. Apps are an important part of the Xero proposition and add tremendous value to the platform. The solution would allow clients and practices to manage users across Xero and the apps enrolled for, which would save significant amounts of time and be much more efficient than what is in place right now i.e. having to set-up users indivdually in each app.

  16. Develop a booking calendar that integrates with our XPM client database. At the moment we have to run two different databases for the same information, to schedule bookings for clients with accountants/block out time for jobs.

  17. It would be beneficial for the Bank Reconciliation Status to return positive insights as well. I have attached a rough adjustment for the 'Up to date' flag, and I feel the slight CSS value adjustment here makes it more visible that the Bank Reconciliation is in fact up to date.

  18. Currently, Practice Information (which contains key firm-wide settings, addresses, and details) appears to be missing a direct link in the main navigation menu (the left-hand sidebar).

    Issue: Users must navigate through multiple menus or settings screens to find and update core firm details.

    Request: Please add a clear, direct menu item for Practice Information to the main vertical menu bar for easy and immediate access.

    Implementing these changes would be a significant quality-of-life improvement for all XPM users. Thank you for considering this feature request!

  20. When entering a cost create a dropdown selection menu of standard costs that are setup in settings. Current system requires a prompt to type in the correct cost to appear and fill out preset cost and charge figures.

    Also include a drop down to select staff member entering the cost. This would be a time saver for mileage and expense claims so you could filter a disbursement report quickly and submit to save double working.
